k0njur3rOne of the most frustrating podcastsMost of the time, the stories are very good, and the gameplay is pretty solid, but the way things go down is often very frustrating. The GM, Ezra, has a tendency to have NPCs over-react in character to out-of-character jokes from the players, or common mistakes, like mispronouncing or misremembering a name, all of a sudden whoever they’re talking to is incredibly suspicious at hates the PCs. The number of times this has come up is staggering, and incredibly annoying. The players never seem to put up a fight, so I can only assume they’re on board, and hopefully they’ve coordinated on expectations before playing together, but I would never want to play in a game like that, and frankly, I don’t want to listen to any more of this because of it.

Cryptid&Co.Good with a few issuesIt’s a great podcast that I genuinely love, but in seasons 2 and 3 there tends to be some triggering topics that are expressed without any real trigger warnings, even in post production. Mainly Mistreatment of children and traumatized individuals. If you aren’t triggered by such topics, it’s a great listen. For the Q&C team, I love it, and I understand where as it’s initially Live play that it’s hard to predict these sorts of things, but please add trigger warnings in post production, even if it’s just in the episode descriptions. It would be greatly appreciated.

ThoolooA great show! The quest and chaos team never disappoint. Their CoC games and DDT have been some of my best hours spent at the dmv or jury duty. Go back and listen to the 1st and 2nd season. Down darker trails is still my fav. Ezra is an inventive Keeper and has answered a couple of my questions when I asked. Great job everyone!! I do miss Amy “Abe Froman lives!!!”

General MerrickThe best CoC actual play out thereThis is an absolutely incredible real play group. The players understand their characters so well and the interactions are often more compelling than the eldritch horror. Yet another amazing program from Quests & Chaos.

Gunstar PawnGreat Dane Society? Sign me up!Despite the length, I thoroughly enjoy listening to this podcast. This and other COC podcasts have inspired me to start playing. Keep up the mind-rending great work!

Gentleman jonnyInsanity inducing funThe Great Danes society is a refreshing addition to call of Cthulhu podcasts. Normal you have stuffy British person talking to stuffy British person too. This is not like that, these players are funny, and engaging ranging from slogging through eldritch cheesecake to fighting off shark faced parrot monkeys. Definitely worth checking out 👍

mw20022Some good old fashioned CoCEzra is a great Keeper, especially for running a 1920s game with without making light of the racism, sexism and colonialism of the era. He also introduced me to the idea of the X Card which is extremely helpful. There’s more goofs and table talk than some people might like but I enjoy it. It’s friends having fun first and foremost and the performance is secondary, and that’s good.

tabaxirangerGood jobThis podcast has everything a Call Of Cthulhu podcast needs. I recommend this and if you are waiting for the next episode I suggest listening to the “Lovecraft Tapes”which is very similar to the Great Dane Society.

A bored DMExcellent podcastEasily the best Call of Cthulhu podcast I have heard!

CircleofvStarted off strongI loved the pacing of the game/story and game style of the Keeper. Things sort of derailed in episode 5. The continued joking about the “golden rod” the over-talk, etc really distract and detract from the show. Do I feel they should stop making the show? No way. They obviously have fun and I’m sure lots of folks love watching/listening. I’m going to give it another episode or two and may update my review.

FemalegameloverThe Best Entertainment At WorkThey always make me laugh while I'm at work. It makes my day go by quicker and keeps me entertained. I unfortinately miss the live show as I have a game during that time but I would recommend others to listen and watch. They have even gotten me interested in trying out Call of Cthulhu which is something I have never done before.

ChurchLady71Great Entertainment, Easy to Suspend DisbeliefVery good representation of personal dynamics and interactions, and any battles carry a realistic risk of failure unlike some other role play systems. The monitoring of sanity also adds a nice touch and enables one to better suspend disbelief. For the intro, however, “Strange propensity for daggers” should be “strange affinity for daggers” as propensity demands a verb not a noun.
