Why talk about trek if you don’t like it?
They reference things incorrectly with the confidence of a text ai while digging out any little thing they can complain about. Such vapid useless discourse, it plays out like a reddit thread

    Massive respect
The recent “terrorism” episode was fantastic. I don’t know why I’d be surprised that they would be on the right side of history, but sometimes it’s hard to tell what position people will take on the active G.

    Fun listen
Love the hosts and the in depth analyses of the episodes. I really like when they do season reviews of Lower Decks! Keep up the good work!

    Blocked on Instagram
They blocked me Instagram when I questioned them about political merchandise that were promotions. They are prejudice.

I want to like this, but I don't.
I am both _very_ into Star Trek (not sci-fi, but specifically Star Trek) and female, and it's been impossible to connect IRL with any other women trekkies, so when this male-dominated segment of my life suddenly had an opportunity to hear from other women, I was very excited. The problem? It's not just women talking about Star Trek and philosophy from their perspective-it's women talking about identity politics. It's "feminism". It's women who define "feminism" as a catchall movement for everyone who isn't a straight white male. And YES, Star Trek is about the human condition, and the philosophy behind the stories that create allegorical narratives should be discussed. But whyTF can't we just have a podcast with women talking and being listed to simply because they like Star Trek? I don't want to hear "Women Who Identify As Social Justice Warriors That Happen To Find Star Trek A Vehicle To Promote Their Agenda", I want to hear "a thoughtful podcast about Star Trek's deeper layers of social philosophy hosted by women". If you don't understand the difference, then that's a dead giveaway that I am not going to G.A.S. about your podcast content.

    Absolutely awesome.
In depth and fun to listen to! It’s great to have more of the much needed women’s (and more!) trek perspective. 😀😀😀🖖🏻🖖🏻🖖🏻

    Must Listen!
I started listening to this podcast when I got sick of men (mostly) complaining that women didn't like Star Trek and I went looking for proof that women (other than me) loved Trek and were talking about it! What the Women at Warp crew talk about in each episode in thoughtful, well researched, and delightful to listen to. Thank you for doing what you're doing!

    Absolutely Brilliant
Women at Warp is, without a doubt, a must-listen for anyone who considers themselves a Star Trek fan. Thoughtful, clever, and inspiring in every episode, Women at Warp demonstrates time and again that true love for a franchise means examining it for what it is.

    I Support This!
This podcast is exactly what we all needed as fans of Star Trek and sci-fi.

    Your bias is showing
I was on board until they called Janeway/Seven grooming. Its incredibly disrespectful to victims and also very invalidating to a large community. Do not take away the autonomy of a grown woman.

    My Favorite Podcast!
Thank you for making such an incredible podcast! I love the thoughtful selection of your topics, and I’ve enjoyed every episode I’ve listened to. Keep up the great work! I’ve really enjoyed going back through and listening to your older episodes, especially the Indigenous Representation in Trek. We need a petition to CBS & the Roddenberry network to hire Indigenous writers and directors for Discovery & Picard!

    Wonderful podcast!
These ladies serve up unique, informative, hilarious, and sensitive analyses of the Star Trek universe. They are awesome and so is this podcast!

    Well, her we Yar
Saw some episode of Tasha Yar on TNG and it’s not one of my favorite shows but the Tasha character is pretty interesting like her in the episode where she gets Transferred to the Enterprise C to help the ship go back to the rift and back in there own timeline which is good because everything is back to normal and successfully and this character is an interesting one .

    Great for all Trekkies!
I really enjoy this podcast. They have great gender analysis - not academic at all, very accessible. They are clearly Trek fans, which I appreciate. A nice bit of joy in my life.

    What happened?
I was loving this until one of the presenters started shouting, interrupting the others, and straight up yelling into their mic (which is terrible quality)... all the time. This is such a good collection of women and fun discussions over a subject I’ve loved to listen to, but I cannot handle the lack of audio leveling coupled with a person who has trouble sharing the spotlight with their team :(
  • Geordi's Pain
    Huh?
I sincerely can’t tell if they like Star Trek, hate Star Trek, or something in between. Do they like being attractive, hate being attractive, or something in between? Do they like strong female characters, hate strong female characters, or something in between? Overall a negative take on what should be an enjoyable listen

    Smart, Fun, & Important
This is a fantastic podcast for anyone who enjoys Star Trek and/or social diversity in pop culture. The Women at Warp team does a great job of analyzing everything from women’s representation to environmentalism and Indigeneity in Star Trek.

    Just Fantastic
I love the nuanced and critical thinking these women demonstrate throughout their conversations. Sometimes it's very funny, sometimes it's very deep, sometimes it's fascinating. They really look at things from all angles. Their criticism (when it happens) is fair. I find myself saying "YES!" frequently while listening. The data shows that Star Trek fans have always been women more than men. It's been so aggravating that producers and merchandise sellers remain ignorant about this to this day. I can't tell you how awesome it feels to here these women talk about the many thought provoking aspects of Star Trek, the stories and the characters.

    Fun and knowledgeable!
Love the excitement of these hosts and their deep canon knowledge of Star Trek. They’ve found a fantastic niche and love the post-modern feminist perspective that sometimes comes out (although people not looking for that type of analysis will also love the show!). Great banter and passion! 🖖

Can’t get past the bad audio quality
I keep trying to listen to this podcast because the topics, format, and content are really solid, but I just cannot get past the horrible, horrible sound quality. Sometimes you can barely hear one person while another is uncomfortably loud in comparison, and there’s one of them whose audio has this awful, tinny/screechy quality. (To be clear, it’s *not* her voice that’s the issue - it’s obviously whatever equipment they’re using to record or edit or whatever.) I just can’t get into this show because the sound issues are so incredibly distracting that it makes it really unbearable to listen to for very long. I listen to several other podcasts where they have to combine audio from hosts in several locations, so it can obviously be done well, but it’s just not happening here. It’s too bad, because I really think I’d like it otherwise.
  • JoyFamily
    Sorry but I am done...
On the episode where they were discussing sex work all one host repeated was “Lock him up” when referring to Quark. What about maybe thinking about if it was a crime in universe. How would the hosts react if a male said “Lock her up!” Without a trial. Sorry but I don’t do hypocrisy. And that is what I have found across many episodes of this podcast.

    Big Fav
I think I first heard about this podcast while I was looking up Kirk drift. The first episode I listened to was 6, "O Captain My Captain (Kirk)". They treated the character so fairly that I was really impressed. I was immediately hooked and I can't recall another podcast I've listened to so completely and enjoyed so thoroughly. There's such an great variety of awesome topics and each episode is so professionally done, really examining the issues in context, and I have learned so much. I don't agree with everyone all the time, in fact there are times I quite strongly disagree and wish I could be part of the conversation! But I think it says quite a bit in of itself that I feel that motivation and empowerment to participate. I've since joined the Patreon and look forward to each episode. Great job!

    Great Trek talk!
All my life I've been a male fan of Star Trek, but I was introduced to it by my older sisters. So listening to this podcast is like chatting with my sisters about my favorite franchise.
  • JonesyBones2011
    Great Podcast
As a woman who grew up watching Star Trek with two men (my brother and my dad), this podcast is a refreshing new look at Star Trek for me. It is fun to hear other women’s perspectives on something that had been more male-centric for me.

    Women at Warp Wows!
I’m fairly new to the world of podcasts and Star Trek (first started watching in 2016). I’m thrilled that I stumbled upon WaW. I enjoy the banter, the heartfelt discussions, the random made-up songs (the recap song for “the Child” should be nominated for a Grammy.) Love geeking out with these amazing Star Trek fans!!!

    My favorite Trek-cast
No joke, this is hands down my favorite Trek podcast. The hosts are super interesting, they bring on great guests with some really amazing perspectives. They inspire me to go back and rewatch old episodes with a different lens and it's really nifty. Not to mention, my reading list has grown in an expoential but wonderful way! If you love Trek, this podcast reminds you over and over again why, and gives you tons of ways to explore it further.

A great way to gain a new perspective on all things Star Trek
I love the intelligence, cleverness and sense of humor of these young women (younger than me). They bring a new and refreshing perspective to the Star Trek world. I encourage all Star Trek fans to subscribe to this podcasts.

    Mostly good
The good: This has a different perspective not only from other podcasts but from many of the forums/discussion groups I visit. If you include their blogs, these ladies got me to take a good hard look at my own unconscious sexism. I thought I was a feminist but when I watched the ENT episode Horizon, why was I only focused on T'Pol finally going on a date (albeit not romantic) with Trip instead of the fact he and Archer were pressuring her into doing something social? What's scary is that few (if any fans) ever talk about this, let alone call them out. Great job girls for challenging my worldview and being woke enough to see certain things that most people overlook! The bad: I agree with another reviewer that the biggest weakness is that they have the same opinions 99% of the time. Even when all 4 of them are there. I lost count of how many times they said yeah in consensus. Most Trek FM podcasts with only 2 people have a lot more dissent. I was very disappointed in the unlikable women episode. When discussing T'Pol's mistakes in her romance her Trip, they say what do you expect from a Vulcan who never had this type of relationship? I can see how her inexperience makes relationships harder for her but I don't like how they excused her because she's Vulcan. And I say this as a huge fan and defender of T'Pol. While imposing your own culture on others is bad, shrugging off what's wrong because it's "their culture" is just as problematic. The dropped the ball by going down this slippery slope. I doubt they would be this forgiving towards a male Vulcan who did the same to his human lover.

    Essential listening for all Trekkies!
I am a voracious podcast listener. But upon discovering this podcast around a week ago, I’ve dropped every other listening material and binge listened to WaW. I consider myself a feminist and a Trekkie, but after listening to just the first couple episodes I realized how much my worldview and view of the worlds of Trek has been shaped by me being a cis heterosexual male. I love the Feminist discussion of my favorite sci fi franchise and it’s expanded my appreciation for both Trek’s progressive vision and it’s inevitably coming up short of that vision many an episode. I’m now a proud Patreon supporter of Women at Warp and want every Trekkie I know to listen to the fabulous women who make this show possible. I know this is a cliché, but I wouldn’t be a Trek fan without ending my review with: Live Long and Prosper Women at Warp!
  • lostrekkie1
    Fantastic Podcast
While Star Trek has been talked an analyzed for over 50 years, it still has sadly lacked a regular, in-depth, modern day feminist analysis of it’s many topics and themes. The hosts are funny and “engage”-ing while also extremely knowledgeable in both Trek lore and feminist ideas and points of analysis. Honestly, having been a Star Trek fan my whole life, I was surprised by how refreshing I found this wonderful podcast to be as an important voice on the Trek community.

    Great podcast!
Love it so much! Been listening for several months now, you ladies are all so amazing and insightful. I sometimes have difficulty putting names to voices, but Sue, you rock! The shared IR background we have is great, and you’re dope fire awesomesauce! So many great topics, enjoyable conversations, and consistent updates make for an A+ podcast!
  • BadgerMike
    Mostly great
I love the thematic approach to topics as a change from "episodic" Star Trek podcasting. The podcasters' presentations are thoughtful, thorough and enlightening. Occasionally, one or two can veer a little into fanatic over-exuberance but that may be endemic to the genre. Occasional offhandedly negative comments about men (as opposed to the serious inquiry into gender issues that is 95% of the show) are jarring and would/should not be tolerated if comparable comments were made about women.
  • Just another storyteller
    Excellent discussion and analysis
I really like how episodes focus on an idea rather than an episode. They engage with their fans on social media so you can join the discussion! I hope they keep making more of this podcast
  • Kittydoggymom
Great thoughts, great talk, great show
I really love this show! These ladies know their stuff, have good discussions, great guests, and totally do justice to the Trek Universe. The show does feature the female perspective, but not so much that they don't see the whole picture. I give this podcast high marks, recommend you subscribe

    Amazing Show; Refreshing Perspective
A truly excellent show. They offer such a fresh prespective on my beloved Trek, while also pursuing so many thought-provoking topics related to feminism, representation, inclusion, and beyond. I either learn something entirely new or am awesomely challenged by their discussion each episode. Love it more than words.

    Feminist Take on Trek
That may sound like women just beating up on Jim Kirk for an hour. This show is so much more than that. These women love Trek. More importanly they know what they're talking about. Their take on TOS' Wolf in the Fold made me reexamine my own attitude toward Trek's most misogynist episode. Why was I more concerned about proving Scotty innocent than justice for the murdered women? Women at Warp is a textbook example of constructive criticism. Being a fan does not mean ignoring flaws. Give this podcast a try.
  • 623S
    Always fascinating
Every discussion is impressive and reveals new perspectives on the things Star Trek has done, good and bad.
  • Tctfunose
    Too negative
Sometimes I feel like the hosts are just complaining about ST, like they don't even like it. One episode I listened was "favorite women in ST" and I felt like all they did was point out negatives the whole time. I'm gonna to try to listen more but it's hard. Also, where's the episode about Enterprise? I can't even watch the series it's so sexist.
  • FurryHen
    One of my favorites
They talk about the good and problematic portions of Star Trek from both a fan and feminist point of view, which is often missing from sci-fi, but they are first and foremost Trekkies and genuinely love Star Trek.
  • COOPERISADOG
    Best Star Trek listening!
Makes my hour long commute seem like 5 minutes. Have to ration the episodes to make them last; I was catching up too quick! Awesome!!!
  • bmcalpine
    Great Female Perspective
I found the female perspective on a beloved franchise a nice change. The only constructive criticism is that they tend to forget the times that these series were made. In most cases, they are a sign of the times of their creation, but always pushed the current social envelope! Keep up the great perspectives! Love listening to you.
  • sonicjro5
Great podcast and a much-needed perspective
I love Star Trek and with so many male-dominated podcasts, this gives a much-needed perspective. I admit that before this podcast, I hadn't thought much about the positives and negatives of how women are portrayed in Star Trek and this has opened my eyes.

    Uhura's Beauty
I'm loving this podcast and the amazing feminist outlook on Star Trek! I mostly love TOS and TAS and appreciate your open and honest discussions!

Great topics. Great hosts. And "Never forget, Pulaski banged Riker's dad". Oh Andi.

    Set phasers to Feminism
I love this podcast. It is in constant battle alongside Earl Grey and TTJ to be my favorite. My wife (who studied women’s lit and loathes the patriarchy) and I enjoyed discussing Trek for the past few years when she started watching with me. It was amazing when this cast came out! As a feminist and a pastor it is always fun to hear you guys tackle sex and religion…you know, the normal dinner party topics. Keep it up and keep breaking the barriers! IDIC!

    Women and Star Trek
I love this podcast. The topics are engaging and interesting. I love the varying degrees of experiences with Star Trek. This podcast has given me new things to think with my favorite Sci-Fi universes.

Women at Warp is for everyone
Great podcast which explores the Trek from many angles. Having four voices on the podcast is great since they complement each other and you can tell how much they love all incarnations of Trek even when they find bits to criticize. Subscribe!
  • Petulant
Always looking forward to new releases!
I wish sometimes I could jump through the internet (and time) and be part of these pod casts, I get so involved and excited about the topics. The commentary and view points of these ladies are refreashing, always something I hadn't thought of before and interesting things to think about (something I need desperately during my long boring hours at work). Would recommend to any Star Trek fans.
