    Good show
I enjoy the interaction between the hosts and their deep knowledge. However, they spend way too much time with callers who have unique situations that are not of interest to me.

    Sense of Humor
I love listening to Scott and Pat because of their sense of humor, outlook on life and sensible advice. I never miss an episode.
  • Uncbethany
    Way too much chit chat.
The hosts talk way too much amongst themselves. When I first started listening to this show there were more listener questions. Please try to return to that approach. A little of your banter goes a long way. Also please try to minimize the rants.

The Right Balance Between Education and Entertainment
Pat and Scott provide a great show. In each episode, I pick up a nugget or 2 that helps me in my financial life. They are surprisingly light on self promotion, and clearly enjoy each other, their guest callers, and sharing their knowledge with their audience.

    Worthy listen
By far the most insightful personal financial podcast I listen to and highly entertaining. I learn something almost every week about the nuances of personal finance. This show would appeal to higher net worth individuals who already have a baseline of knowledge which I appreciate. Scott and Pat’s advice is straightforward and they appear to really care about their callers. The hosts are engaging and have this quirky way of rambling about non-financial topics that appeals to me. They feel like my podcast friends.

    Best personal finance podcast
In an industry filled with swindlers and conmen, Scott and Pat are a shining example of what fiduciaries should be doing: looking out for the interests of their clients, not making commissions from exotic products. That, combined with their amusing and entertaining conversations, is why I’ve listened to this show every week for the past 10 years. I’m a bit puzzled by the recent reviews complaining about Scott and Pat discussing politics. I’d venture to guess my political beliefs are quite different from theirs, but I’ve never had any issue with anything they’ve said. 99% of they time they’re just discussing how insignificant politics is in developing and maintaining a personal financial plan.

All Worth is Worth It All!
They provide common sense financial advice with the warm concern you’d expect from family members… but with friendly banter you’d expect of circus clowns. AllWorth’s Scott Hanson and Pat McClain’s Money Matters will delight and teach you about money—all while being completely free!

Listening for almost 30 years. Very interesting and entertaining! I laugh out loud with them, not at them … and I learn a lot.

    Long time listener and reader.
I started reading Money Matters articles in the Sacramento Bee back in the early 90’s. I was happy to hear them on their Saturday morning radio show. The podcast is great and have made smart investments and tax saving moves. I have even shared the knowledge and podcast links to help others with their financial issues. They are great!

Can I get a break from discussing your political opinions
Love the show , but don’t love there delving into specific political opinions! I get overwhelmed with this everyday. That being said , this podcast is funny and informative!

Entertaining and educational. We been with Allworth for 12 years. Our account has done great. Thank you

    Some people…
Great show but some people…instead of callers taking up 25 min of time with ALL of their concerns and planning options, just make an appointment with the practice and take care of it then! People calling in for free advice and dominating the show. Keep it short and to the point people ( callers). Great advice Scott and Pat

Good show but keep your political views out
This past week’s episode was particularly revealing. Whatever your views are, keep them out. The subtle hints are the worse. I’ve unsubscribed. Do yourselves a favor and check out CarTalk. Click and Clack do (did) a superb job of talking cars without any political leanings whatsoever.

I have been listening to Pat and Scott for many years, starting with their radio show and now this podcast. I’ve learned a great deal from them both and appreciate their straight talk when offering advice. I ended up becoming a client of Allworth Financial when I retired and still listen to the podcast regularly. Keep up the good work gentlemen!

    Had higher hopes calling in
I’ve listened to the show for a few years, I’ve learned a ton during that time which I’m forever grateful. Now the NEGATIVE. I called into the show a few months ago asking for advice on additional things that I could be doing to put my family and myself in a better financial position. I was given ZERO additional things that we can add to what we are already doing which was disheartening because I know that Scott and Pat are much more advanced and smarter than the lack of information they gave us. I also have to add that we had an appointment for a financial plan through Allworth Financial set up and we canceled it because we didn’t want to pay a lot of money just to be told what we were told when we called into the show of “good job keep doing what you were doing”.

    Love the show
I enjoy hearing about Scott and Pat’s little humorous info about their personal lives as well as the financial info. Keep doing what you’re doing!!

    Not the same.
20+ year listener. The show is not as good as it used to be. Especially boring when the psychologist types are on. I do like when the various employees are included for a topic and I like the house calls segment. More callers, less chat at the opening would be good. Hansen and McClain seem a little tired of doing the show. Would like to have some other advisors give it a try.

    Generally good, but…
Listen regularly as discussions are good, but annoying aspects are: 1. Often excessively talk over guests 2. Have er ah have , like some time in the past, hard sort of time , and er ah formulating a point. Sheesh, spit it out! 3. In the 6/9/24 podcast danced around the caller question regarding assets-under-management fees essentially asking is it worth the $30,000+ a year they would charge to manage a portfolio vs flat fee which is challenging the AUM model in the industry.

Good Show, Except for Some Callers
I really like the show. It’s informative and entertaining. However, a lot of the callers are what I would call “humble braggers,” those who have multi-millions saved for retirement and just seem to want a pat on the back.

    Favorite Financial Podcast
Always excellent! Appreciate the points made on hiring 3rd party trustee and fiduciary to remove oneself from risk of litigation. By the way: if one wishes one of those nice cars from OC, just wait for the next recession when the cars get seized. Large segment of big hat no cattle car owners.

I’ve followed these guys for about 20 years. Based on the information from their radio shows I made financial choices that now allow our retirement to be well funded. When I retired we became AllWorth clients. The podcasts are a fun listen and I appreciate the ideas shared.

I’d give this show five stars if they didn’t have guests and just took calls the whole time. They do an outstanding job with their callers. The guests they have on there is just a huge waste of time.

Great Show for our financial lives
I’ve listened to Scott and Pat for many years and have found them to be both entertaining and very informative. They are honest in their advice and aren’t trying to troll for new clients. I hope they continue with their podcasts for many years to come.

Money Matters has helped me not do dumb things
Money Matters has helped me not do dumb things. When the market swirls down I know I’ll get useful, honest advice without the taint of conflicts of interest. I listened when they were just a radio show in the 90s and now time-shift with their podcast. This show is worth your time.

    Amazing personal financial podcast
I stumbled upon this podcast a few months ago and have just devoured episodes. Scott and Pat provide very practical and realistic financial opinions about a wide variety of applicable topics. They are genuine and natural hosts that really have a passion for sound investing. I never write reviews for podcasts but I cannot recommend this podcast enough. At a time when most voices are polarizing and extreme and shocking, there’s something incredibly refreshing about their reasonable and intelligent approaches to complex financial issues. I recommend them to absolutely everyone.

    My go to podcast
A favorite podcast of mine. I started listening by accident a few years back and now find it a most trusted and relevant source of information. The variety of calls is wonderful. I’ve been able to learn concepts that don’t only help me but allows me to help others. Probably the hardest and most important thing is not tell people what to do but tell them what I would do if I were in their situation. Nobody will have 100% of the answers all the time but these guys will say, I don’t know, which allows me to continue to investigate.

Financial advice that doesn’t make your eyes glaze over
When my husband talks to me about financial stuff I always was left feeling really dumb. Listening to your podcast has helped me understand financial matters and I actually advised my husband on something he hadn’t thought of ! Thanks Scott and Pat for the entertaining way of teaching ❤️

    Great financial show!
I look forward to hearing Scott and Pat every Saturday morning. I actually wish the show/podcast was longer. I have learned a crazy amount listening to this show over the last few years. They have great humor and a way to explain things that does not require an advanced financial degree to understand.
