    Great star guests!
But a little less focus on the interviewee would be great. Less small talk, or at least edit it out.

    Great guests, terrible interviewer
I think the guests are incredible but I think Peg is a poor interviewer. I have had to turn the entire thing off on a number of times because I thought her interjections were insufferable.

    a note from peg
dearest ones, thank you so much for all the feedback - and the support. I realize the last year, sound quality has been a bit poor. I apologize for this, we don’t have a budget so I’ve been doing the editing, and it shows. but thanks to a few kind + generous donors, we have been able to purchase new equipment. 🥰 so big love to them - and big love to you, for sticking with us and by us. we never expected this podcast to grow as it has. we are humbled + inspired. and we couldn’t - we WOULDN’T - do it without you. thank you for sticking with us and helping us grow. xx peg.

    Interesting topics, awful audio
I’ve been practicing Ashtanga for nearly a decade and only recently discovered this podcast. After reviewing the interesting list of topics and guests, I couldn’t wait to dig in and listen! Unfortunately my enthusiasm quickly dissolved after listening to podcast after podcast of the worst audio I’ve ever heard! It’s so disappointing as so much good stuff is available here. Given the different technology available nowadays, it’s a shame this podcast hasn’t taken advantage of any level of quality audio.

    Good content, poor audio quality
I was so disappointed to only be able to hear and understand about 50 percent of Theo Wildcroft’s interview. Audio quality is astoundingly poor. I kept having to rewind in an attempt to comprehend what she was saying. Why put something out there that can’t even be heard? It’s a disservice to both the listener and the interviewee.

    Thank you!
Through this podcast, Peg, Meghan, and each of their guests share beautiful, warm, and genuine insights into their lives and how yoga has influenced their perspectives. Thank you, Peg, Meghan, and every guest — my understanding of life and Ashtanga yoga has deepened as a result of your efforts. I continue to grow from you sharing your journeys, and am so appreciative of how this work has connected me with resources to deepen my practice — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Thank you for being you, and for sharing this with all of us ✨

    great guests, annoying hosts
they have amazing guests and some episodes are really interesting to listen to but sorry, the hosts talk waaay too much about themselves and about their lifes and ask stupid questions (like the first question in the laruga glaser episode)

    Great yoga podcast
This is a great podcast for those interested in yoga as a whole, not just Ashtanga or asana. Peg and her daughter interview people on a wide range of interesting topics. Very engaging conversations. I highly recommend it.
  • royogini
Recommend for anyone interested in yoga
Sure, Ashtanga is in the title and the guests and hosts all practice Ashtanga Yoga. However the conversation goes so much deeper than asana. I’d recommend to anyone interested in yoga.

    Excellent and filled with insights
I really enjoy this podcast - Peg and her daughter interact so sweetly with each other, you can tell they have a close relationship; and it's good to hear these organic conversations that often lead to some deeper insights about being a yoga practitioner in our modern, crazy world; you realize these senior teachers are just living their lives, trying to do the best they can - like most of us; and that lifelong practice does have an impact on wellbeing and wisdom, too. I would love to hear more interviews of older non-authorized Ashtanga teachers and/or second generation teachers (i.e. students of the senior teachers in the community) that is, interviews of teachers who have quietly worked in the trenches teaching for a long time. There's a lot of wisdom there, and maybe even some healthy iconoclasm, too; it would be good to hear these folks' perspective about Ashtanga teaching and practice, as it is a not considered or valued within our small worldwide community of Ashtanga that tends to center the voices of a handful of well-known teachers.

Great guests, some room for improvement for the host
I listen to every single espisode and learn a lot, got really inspired from lots of the conversation. As some one who just started my ashtanga journey, this has been a valuable resource for my learning, and otherwise I don't think I would have a chance to listen to so many great teachers around the world in such a personal way. I am extremely grateful for the work Peg put into this. With that said, I hope Peg can put aside the need of feeling offended/ upset (and I know it's hard) with all the negative reviews, instead try to take a step a back and see why they have such opinion - regardless of the way they say it. I do feel that Peg sometime gets carried away talking too much about herself/ her own practice/ opinions (which, if not too much, is great because lots of us share those too). Peg tends to get too excited to talk as soon as the guest mention something that she has relevant experiences and sometime just cuts off the guest before they can elaborate their thoughts. If she can be a bit calmer/ quieter and gives the guests more space to talk, and makes her comments more neutral instead of mostly about her and how she practices, I will enjoy the podcast much much more. I am not trying to criticize, just trying to contribute to what I think can make the podcast better. Hope you don't take it personal or get offensive, and thank you again for your work.

Hi Peg, we don’t know each other but that’s okay because I feel like I do. I enjoy your posts, your self questioning and your thoughts about yoga and life. They could be mine. You’re podcast is always interesting and your guests are the very best. Thanks for your voice in yoga and women in yoga! Xox Patsyinparis

    Immensely valuable
I love love Ashtanga Dispatch and Peg Mulqueen. Her interviews are always fascinating and Illuminating. I’ll likely never get to meet all the ashtanga teachers that Mulqueen interviews, but I get to learn from them because of these podcasts. And as currently a home practitioner, it helps me feel connected to the larger ashtanga community, supports my practice with the learning, and helps me feel not so alone — but instead that I still am connected to this vast lineage that has given me so much. I’m grateful for this podcast and Peg Mulqueen does a wonderful job putting it together and hosting all the interviews!

    Wonderfully supportive!
I love everything that Peg does for me, even though we don’t know each other very well. She understands how challenging this practice can be. She has gone out of her way to help all of us cope with those times when we are “stuck” or those times when we need to pull back a bit. And she does it out of the kindness of her heart. I’ve found her help over the years invaluable. Thank you, Peggy!

    A must-listen for ashtangis
Peg has a wide spectrum of influential ashtangis on her podcast. Many of them don’t even necessarily even agree with each other on how the practice should be taught! I think this is fabulous, she brings light and awareness to the nuances of perspective in each teacher she interviews. I’ve learned a great deal about this practice from teachers I may never meet in person, but I get a chance to hear them speak on a topic near and dear to all of us.

    Ashtanga Dispatch
I listen to all of Pegs podcasts and interviews because they are simply the best. Her down to earth relatable interview questions are exactly the ones I would ask if I could. This makes me feel that I actually have a seat at the table and am right there! I spend my Saturday morning (practice day off) listening and learning. Thanks Peg !

    Wonderful!
Love hearing abt the the methods of ashtanga vinyasa through the eyes of different teachers across the world. Peg brings an honest look at the method and how’s it’s changed over time. The love, hate, sweat, tears and ever evolving nature of the practice :)

    So grateful.
So grateful to Peg for creating a space where I can hear teachers across the Ashtanga landscape share from their own practices and life experiences. Even more grateful for the brave, vulnerable way she has centered the experience of female practitioners. Thank you, Peg. This podcast, and your work generally, have enriched my life.

    Amazing
Love Peg. Love how like us she is, that is til she unrolls her mat. Her practice is impressive. Her honesty and frankness are refreshing. Meeting Peg at Wanderlust 3 summers ago changed my practice and more importantly my approach to the classroom. Keep up the amazing work you do!

    Wisdom!
It is a rare gift to be able to pass on so much wisdom and knowledge to the world. This podcast provides me with the opportunity to learn from Ashtanga yoga masters all around the world that I would otherwise never have the chance to hear from. It inspires me to keep going when I need a boost and helps me to feel supported and guided as a female practitioner. I look forward to each new episode! Thank you so much for making something so important and for sharing your love and devotion!

Can’t wait for the next one!
I’ve listened to every single episode at least once and many, 2-3 times through. Thank you, Peg and crew, for putting yourselves out there, choosing amazing guests, and continually giving the Ashtanga community something to look forward to. Who’s next?!?

    Bringing the Community Together
I’m not completely unbiased in writing this review as I have been interviewed by Ashtanga Dispatch. However, there isn’t any place where so many clear voices come together and can be heard. Each time I listen to the latest podcast I have my own “ah-ha” moments and realizations. Rather than picking the community apart I feel like the interviews are bringing us together to see that there are many different experiences and each has value. The podcasts are a great resource for being inspired and seeing the many facets of Ashtanga yoga and yoga in general! And well done for being so consistent in creating a podcast a month… that is a huge feat in itself.

    Ashtanga yoga goldmine
Peg Mulqueen does a hero’s job of finding and interviewing Ashtanga yoga teachers from around the world. Her style of interview is very personal and her love of yoga practice comes through in every episode. She is a brave and critical thinker about the problems in our community (there AREN’T enough female voices in yoga) I’ve moved four times in the last four years, and these interviews have been a lifeline to the ashtanga community for me. Highly recommend.

Incredible collection of interviews with experienced Ashtangis!
I’d be jealous of Peg and her beautiful daughter if they didn’t do such an amazing job of sharing their love of Ashtanga with us. They get to travel and practice and meet so many of the great Ashtanga teachers. Thank you Peg and Meghan for delivering entertaining and insightful podcasts and magazines- and cool shirts! :)

    Great Podcast!
Always enjoy the different guests and the different perspective presented during the discussion. Peg asks the questions we all are thinking and I can always learn something new that I can apply to my own practice from the episode. The Eddie Stern vagus nerve discussion is still one of my favorites!

    Could be great...could be...
New Drinking Game: Every time Peg mentions her daughter, or the dearth of female yoga instructors, or obnoxiously laughs, or is amazed by some trifling nothing, or interjects with an "oh gosh, golly gee willikers" comment --drink a shot! Amazing guests.

Wish there was a different ashtanga podcast
Wanted to hear the guests/panel talk. Host attitude is too know it all and judgmental. Had to unsubscribe after this last one.
  • yogareview
Good start to a great conversation
The world of podcasts is really adding to the yoga conversation. It’s really nice to see podcasts that go beyond a led class. However, there seems to be a trend of the people who choose to make these podcasts. The quality of a person that drives them to organize and create a podcast also seems to lend itself to a type of person who needs to hear them self speak when it’s their turn to listen. This podcast has incredible guests and it’s an amazing pleasure to hear them speak, but then, like other podcasts of this nature, we are left with so much unnecessary time spent listening to the host process about herself and projections herself into the dialogue. I hope this podcast continues and I really hope this host learns how to take her ego into the background and make it less about her personal journey and more about shining a light on the incredible people she is bringing to the listeners. Keep up the good work and I wish you so much future success.
