Jerid PWeekend go toYou can watch as many documentaries as you want or love all the beautiful memorabilia, but if you listen to this weekly you really begin to understand the depths of the dead and will turn into a real deadhead. God bless John.

Paddyboy121Professors Rock!!!I just turned my barber at Tiger Barbers in CoMO onto The Professor. Made me reminisce about my early days as a new Prof at Mizzou and the first time I caught John’s Friday evening show on “the mighty fine 89”. I looked forward to my Fridays, and my graduate students were quickly baptized in tie-dye and Grateful Dead shows. Thanks Professor. Peace and Keep Truckin’.

AbrosenfeldMore DeadNice to have another source for shows. Excellent podcast
-
BallatandaMind Left Body in TokyoThanks Professor for all the incredible music you’ve shared. Like a warm blanket thats on fire with the electricity pinging off the moon and stars back to our radiating ear drums playing a hypnotic chorus of eternity. The Dead Pod is alive in Japan! ありがとございます🙏!

-
BleauchardLove The ProfessorAlways good for digging up some of obscure jams as well as important milestones and putting them into the right context, while keeping the music front and center.
-

-
Scott gillOne man gathers what another man spillsIt is nice, as I move through my 60’s, that some of us still get great pleasure from this fine music
-
undulatingnavelThanks for exploring! The 60’s tapes are so potent. I have high praise for every show that steps out of the well-trodden 70’s; but, the 60’s shows give me the biggest smile…all full of rainbows and such.
-
ManjuroBetter than LemieuxWell curated selection of full GD shows. Always excellent.

Michigan drivenBrokedown PalaceGreat cast. Do you know what show Jerry was playing brokedown palace in the wrong key, stops the song and crack s a joke before he goes back into the right key and plays it again. What show
-

1 Live JewA Weekly GiftThank you to The Professor for these end of the week curated Dead sets. Always a hoot.
-
CharlesO1989Enjoyable alwaysLove how the format is usually set one the first week and set two the next. Dig the Professor’s highlights recap at the beginning of each episode. Also appreciate the info he shares on the venue and date for context. Born in ’89 I wasn’t lucky enough to see Jerry, so I’m grateful to get to explore the Dead from ’65 through ’95 with this singular podcast. I’ve been listening in to these time capsules since 2009. The Deadpod has been there for me weekly through the bad times and the good times. Can’t thank you enough Professor!
-
HahahjkdeaThis will get you out of your show rutDespite the seemingly endless catalogue of live tapes to the Dead’s name, I sometimes find it difficult to explore. I’ll find myself going to the same specific Rubin and Cherise (4-7-91) for example. This prevents that. I look forward to each new installment and have a blast with it each time. Highly recommend.

Chris, Charlotte NCAbsolutely Perfect!!All killer, no filler!

DocBones1Mighty FineHave listened to The Professor ever since I was an undergrad at Mizzou in the mid 90s. Miss the days of hearing him on The Mighty Fine 89, KOPN, Columbia, Missouri. So happy to be able to share him with my kids now. Thanks Prof!
-
HelloCutie26Grateful for this podcastI look forward to this every week! I love listening to a whole set, uninterrupted. This is especially great for those of us who have gotten on the bus more recently.
-
e-hornGrate podcast!Love this ❤️
-
Geek bearing gifts5 stars because I can’t give 10Love the no frills host. Gives a brief overview of the set and any little trivia items of interest and then right to the music. Also, getting to hear the style changes on certain songs over time is great with this set up where the concerts are not in order by year.
-
Twerk4thepeopleListen up kidsThe Professor knows what he’s talking about.
-
JoebobhstAwesome stuff-The Prof. knows his shows! Once in a while there is a dud, but 9 out of 10 times the audio showcases the Dead at their supreme finest!! Thank you Professor
-
ZanguineExcellent Curation!Great host, great music selection. There are many audience recordings that I haven’t heard in the official releases.
-

Mostly DaveLove this show!Never written a review before, but after listening to this for - can it be over ten years? - it’s about time I give credit where credit’s it due. The Professor is reliable and consistent and never lets you down! Nothing elaborate, just straight from one head to another. Thanks for the years of great listening!
-
pat batemanTGIFI haven’t missed a Friday with the Professor for over a dozen years and there’s no finer way to kick off the weekend. 💀⚡️🥀
-

Chilly JackwaterMUCH better music taste than The Professor from Money HeistThe Professor always comes through with shows you probably haven’t listened to much. And he picks them gemmy gems! Thank you for all the work and care you put into the Deadpod. Bella Ciao, Professor!

-
josiwaxDeadpod is greatProfessor/John does a fantastic job of curating a high quality set week after week both in terms of audio quality and the bands playing. Even with a huge variety of options to stream the dead I never miss a Deadpod.
-
RevTedA Weekly Treat!I love looking forward to Friday’s, because I know there will be a new episode in my feed from the Professor. His deep knowledge and deeper cuts (blemishes and all) are a highlight of my week!
-
SL in BrooklynFriday Morning Tradition .. wake up and listen to DeadpodI’ve been listening to this podcast since close to its inception, and I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed yet. The Professor is, simply put... the MAN. He picks out a choice set each week and gives a brief, but informative intro that gives archival information about the band and the zeitgeist of dead heads at the time of the show. Thanks Jon for all your hard work and DEADication
