Buddy_Lee85Cooper! Mine Craft ReviewJust listened to the Mine Craft review, and boss man Cooper nailed it. I’m the father of a Mine Craft player and he gave a very good informative review, and helped me to fill in the blanks on a couple of different areas that I was unaware of. I’m curious to hear of what Cooper’s opinion be of Civil Way vs. Winter Soldier when he gets older. I hope Cooper starts a “Dad About Movies” podcast about the movies our dads talked about. First episode should be The Good, the bad, and the Ugly. My dad talked about it, I talk about it, and I HOPE my kids will one day talk about it. Nailed it Cooper! Keep it going. From your future subscriber, Lee.

BoredteacherSuper goodI hate the people who give this show a bad review because I love it and the guys are just giving their opinion and they are doing this for fun don’t make them quit
-
TheoriginalraidermattKeep these guys away from 2 things…1. Star Wars. Completely clueless when it comes to any Star Wars content from the last 25 years. 2. Oscars. The films, the show, all of it. Twisters is their idea of Oscar worthy. They want a 15 minute awards show. Otherwise, if you are looking for some light movie takes without much real insight, these guys can be reasonably entertaining. Just leave the brain at the door.

DeepStateMikeSigh…Mad About Movies Seems like Kent and Brian hate the majority of movies they watch. Richard questions every little trivial aspect of movies he doesn’t like. Way too often something insufficient doesn’t make sense to Richard…and rarely lets those things go…making them into big deals. You will not receive any interesting insights about the movie being reviewed from them. Tons of group think can make discussions feel redundant. I used to listen to them all the time…but for a while now I’ve been very selective in what I consume from them. As a whole…they come off like movie prude most of the time…but they’ll light up for your run-of-the-mill summer blockbuster. I’ve been avoiding giving them a rating for 3 years…in hopes they would improve but it is what it is at this point. I can’t recommend them.

SLO-MO FANDo they even really like movies?I like movies. I like good movie podcasts. I like to hear people break down a film and help me understand things I might’ve missed. Or make me want to see a movie that I didn’t know about or hadn’t given the time to. When I hear one of the hosts of a MOVIE podcast say that he watches movies in the background while he’s working, and he decides if he likes them by whether they can pass the test of being good while he’s dividing his attention between the movie and whatever else he has to do during the day, I’m out. If that’s how you review movies, you’re telling me you don’t really like movies. (Maybe he should call the podcast Mad at Movies.) Or at least enough to give them the time to not miss key parts of the plot. If you’re watching Citizen Kane for the first time and you miss who/what rosebud is, and then you complain about not knowing who rosebud is then you might think it was a badly told story. When what you’re really doing is not paying attention. And the same host used the word “joint“ in the best and worst movies of 2024 episode multiple times. As in, “this was a Dakota Fanning joint” for instance. After the second time, I realized this is truly how lazy this guy is. “A Spike Lee joint“ was an interesting phrase 25 years ago. Now it just makes you sound like you’re high and your needle’s stuck in the same groove over and over again. And the three hosts got hung up on a joke they made and laughed for about a minute and then repeated the joke just to make sure we got the point. Unsubscribing.
-
CTorminHosts are extremely bored and lazy and it showsI used to like this podcast, but for a long time now the hosts sound so uninterested in the entire thing, so indifferent to the movie in question (and even movies in general), that begs the question, why are they still doing this. The Oscars episodes are infuriating, as they haven’t watched most of the movies, so the episode becomes empty rambling. It doesn’t sounds like these guys even enjoy cinema anymore – I’m done here.

Alana BranchOne at a timeThe talking over one another gets annoying.

stevelinguiniDifferent wavelengthTrap was a decent comedy.
-
TickleytiffersThe pros and cons…I like this podcast. They do bring up some interesting points and facts about movies. However, I really thought they would break down movies scene by scene but instead it’s just them talking about the “politics” or impact a movie has had. They don’t really recap the movie or talk about their favorite parts. It’s a bit of a letdown and I find myself changing to a different podcast midway in. Please do more of a recap of movies. It would be way more entertaining and interesting.

Jordan OMad About PodcastsHope this podcast never ends. My favorite— I’ve listened to all the episodes. Love the banter and perspectives of each of them. Would love for them to review Angel Studios movies— not even from a Christian perspective, but from a niche / movie phenomenon perspective. While Hollywood is failing, this has been one market / niche— that’s not been touched on by the show (to my knowledge). Keep up the great work guys!

MsmarlasingerGiving weird uncles that rant at the dinner tableWatching a movie than rambling about it isn’t a breakdown - there’s other podcasts out there with better content with good notes or at least a full thought with reason to back up opinions

Tyler BronsonPretty good movie review podcast but can be unreasonable and inconsistent.First, the bad: Comments are sometimes made about films, like the locust plot in "JW: Dominion," where the hosts ask, "Why is this here? It's not explained. It makes no sense," when, in fact, the film does explain why that plot point is there. There are a number of other comments made about a number of other movies where the hosts missed explanations or other contexts that made their final thoughts on a movie skewed. Also, I've heard a lot about how a movie like "Jurassic Park" is a perfect movie by a couple of the hosts when that movie has a number of issues itself, but the hosts refuse to name any of the problems (ie: Why is the wonderful moral discussion on gentics and cloning immediately dropped halfway through the movie? The characters are types; how in the world did the T-Rex miraculously show up at the end without everyone, including the raptors, realizing this?, etc.). Yet, they will easily nitpick the other movies. *EDIT 2-1-24* Listening to their "Joker" podcast and them coming in saying Todd Philips has an ego and believes he's Scorsesee and then calling the movie cocking is like calling the kettle black. For a bunch of guys that fall head over heels with the new Marvel movie, that is the same as every previous MCU movie, they sure piss in a pot over something that has something more serious to say about our society than to watch another yuk-fest in the MCU. It's fine if they didn't like "Joker," but them saying Philips is cocky (without evidence) and then to be cocky themselves as to what the movie is talking about and coming awfully close to censoring the movie, even though they say they don't want to, it just rich. Their issue with Arthur Fleck having tourettes in "Joker" is just mind-boggling. They say they were very uncomfortable with that. Newsflash, dude: That was the point! A movie, like "Joker," is intended to make you uncomfortable and to realize you cannot root for anyone as the movie progresses because there are no real decent people to root for. That. Is. The. Point. Not everything is black and white. They're such prudes. For a podcast that is typically fair to movies than most podcasts, this one will occasionally be totally unfair to movies and simply miss some of the simplest elements of a movie while clapping wildly for MCU movies that don't require you to think. A podcast with, generally, good discussions, but some of the thoughts and opinions are misguided, inconsistent, hypocritcal, and unreasonable at times.

Toni. ANew to the MAM FAMThese guys are awesome! I love listening to their podcast during moments of downtime while working or in the car. They have an interesting perspective on movies and the movie industry that most people don't have. They all have dry humor which may not be for everyone but I find it funny. Overall I never understood why I enjoyed watching movies until I found this Podcast and they definitely have made me view movies differently and have made me grow in my appreciation for film and challenged my viewing of certain films. Thanks Guys!

Bracarty1This podcast is terribleThis podcast is awful. Mumbly, low energy and boring. I can’t believe people like this.

warrior_coachUsed to love this podcast, but it’s really gotten almost unlistenable now. .One of the host has just has gotten so miserable , he continues to have movies pre judged before he sees them depending on if he likes a certain actor or director or not. Honestly if you don’t enjoy what your doing anymore just stop because it is ruining your podcast.
-
cghhefjiEntertainingThis show keeps things entertaining with great commentary and industry related information.
-
Winston2356Bland and really slowTheir style is hard to take. Low energy, dwell on the same point forever and no real insights. Also, one guys voice consistently trails off into a low mumble.
-
safeashousesNot great/goodDoesn’t distinguish itself in any way. The first review I listened to was a guest review of She Said that was half giggles. I get laughing at your own jokes on film podcast, it’s a podcast trope/ cliche but after every sentence it became hard to bear. I also listened to the Nope review and sadly it wasn’t much better though it didn’t have the goggles that I can recall. I won’t be back. The great/good movie podcast search is still on.

Teacher Drew in PhoenixOuch! Two key things can make or break a podcast. The hosts absolutely need a voice for it, and they need to have remotely intelligent commentary. Sadly, this podcast has neither. The hosts are monotone and lack passion of any kind. Their comments are often out of touch with the bigger picture (source material, target audience, purpose of the project etc. There are many other quality movie podcasts out there. Stay clear of this one.

JdibheHard to listen toBrian kills this show. It takes him an hour to spit out one thought. Terrible, he should be replaced
-
Johnny VWNot really a movie review podcastIf you are looking for a podcast to get a review of a movie you want to see this is the wrong place. These guys spend the majority of the time laughing at their own jokes and very little (if any) time discussing what the movie is actually about. They seem to have a disdain for the average movie goer as they love to talk about how miserable of an experience actually going to the movies can be. The only thing I enjoyed was the weekly recommends segment which again has nothing to do with the movie of the week. They would be better suited to just spend the entire podcast time on their random recommends.
-
JCollinJonesWorth your time. A good place for those who love film. The industry knowledge these three bring to the table adds a level of credibility to the podcast. There’s also a fair range of differing opinions among the three of them. If you’re seeking an outlet for your love of film, look no further. With Mad About Movies you can stay up to date on film industry news, actor’s/director’s filmography, recommendations, Oscar talk, and listen to some fellow movie buffs analyze just about every movie that hits theaters/streaming. Give it a listen!

MattChapmanThe MenuI’ve never written a review, but I felt I had to in the case of this terrible “movie” podcast. I’m 35 minutes into this 50 minute review of The Menu and these guys haven’t talked about the actual movie once. Incessant banter unrelated to the topic of the show and basically just a profile of the actors and other movies they’ve done. UPDATE: I listened to the end and they didn’t spend 60 seconds even talking about what happened in the movie. But I did learn that they think Anya Taylor Joy is unique looking, Ray Fiennes is a good actor, and Nicholas Hoult is hilarious in The Great. Irrelevant and uninspired. Unsubscribed.

On The Go BroPeas & CarrotsI LOVE this weekly podcast so much. I’m a subscriber but have yet to enter the discord. I laugh often. I see most of the films discussed & typically don’t have anyone who watches lots of films to talk to about them. It’s crazy how often my feelings are shared by you three! From the Big Blockbusters to the more Artsy films, I tent to laugh nodding my head in agreement. Keep it up men. I’ll be listening in.

masmerr138GreatnessThe best movie podcast around!
-
PrettywordShe saidThe first 110 minutes are silly girls chuckling over who knows what. I think it was not well organized nor very professional. I’m going to find another film podcast
-
LanceisbetterthanyouTerrible podcastI did not enjoy at all. Podcasters have so many inside jokes/abbreviations that are not explained I felt lost at times. They also do not know subject material and make inaccurate comments (Black Panther episode). I don’t expect all reviewers to be experts, but if you don’t know the subject/history don’t make definitive comments. If I were reviewing a WW1 movie and was not familiar with history, I would not make ignorant comments regarding Hilter, his origin or his behaviors. There are much better movie podcasts out there…do yourself a favor and skip this one.
-
Michael4459Great crew and easy listenThese guys do a great show that is filled with good dialogue and meaningful POVs. Well done.
-
schizopolis23DisappointedListened to 2 and a half episodes. Conclusion: Generic likable dudes with mediocre takes. Most recent episode: “Kevin Feige has good taste”. That sealed the deal for me.
-
black knotsReview confess fletchEven though you guys come kind of pretentious , it’s still a better movie podcast than most. I typically don’t agree with reviews. But reviews are subjective so it’s not their fault or anybodys fault. Everyone is entitled to their opinion; obviously. That being said. Let’s talk about CONFESS FLETCH!!! Which was fantastic! 🤙🏼👊🏼😎

SFG_FanThe VIP… We Get It!I used to enjoy this pod. It was a pretty fun listen. The constant peddling of the VIP is so overplayed and old. You have a Patreon! Yay! It’s not even sincere at this point. It’s a gross money grab for 3 guys who talk about movies. Heat 2 book - let’s do a VIP! I was part of their Patreon - that’s how far I’ve swung around. Hard unsubscribe.

Robbot1411Great podcastGreat podcast with great movies and funny commentary. Keep making good episodes!

Delton ChildsMy Go-To Podcast After Seeing A MovieI started listening frequently during the pandemic lockdown with the bad movie marathon. I laughed from the gut with my whole heart at the episodes about Batman & Robin & Howard the Duck. Every time I see a new movie I look for these guys corresponding episode. I don't always agree but I always love the perspective they give and the guests they have like Batman Shane.

Mandermoo37They Don’t Understand Objective CriticismI have listened to this podcast for a few months now, and I have been trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. After some time has passed, it has become evidently clear that these guys don’t know what they are talking about. They have no training or education in filmmaking, and it shows. Their input is skewed, and it feels like some frat boys whose parents called them “special” too many times. Their most unique segments are still extremely self indulgent and uninteresting (movie draft). This podcast could have benefitted from smarter hosts, or at least some objective analysis. If they leaned more into the gimmick of “a few dudes with amateur opinions,” this may have worked. Instead, they acted like their views were infallible. Example: One can admit that Eggers isn’t their favorite while still acknowledging he is good at his craft. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. These arrogant personalities believe their personal tastes are law, and you’d be better off listening to some other movie podcast.
-
Aut ChapGreat PodcastI’ve been listening to MAM since the beginning. They are great and constantly looking for ways to make things better for the listeners. Saw a review that said they always agree. That’s not true at all. They do disagree on what is good and what they like a lot. I disagree with them sometimes too. But they do a great job and have fun with it.
-
TheMatrixHet Male OPSo-so reviews but they like each other, C-plus
-
Dylan,Dylan,DylanWhy?I’ve listened to about 5 episodes of this show and there very basic movie reviews. Most of the time the hosts agree with each other’s opinions so there’s really no diversity. And it feels like for the most part they don't even watch the movies they review. I just want a good movie podcast.
-
Allie ShawFavorite Movie PodcastThis is my absolute favorite movie podcast and I have been listening for the past 5 years (one of the only pods I’ve stuck with for that long). They have the expertise to back up what they say and are not afraouto admit to guilty pleasures. It’s unique with the types of episodes, top 10 lists, summer movie drafts, etc. They also make the VIP packages worth every penny even though I mostly just pay it to support. It is such a close group of listeners and not a massive podcast, which I love - I suggest a few listens and a follow if you’re a big movie fan and are looking for an avenue to nerd out to others about movies.

dotFreeOneThe Venom 2 episodeThey said venom’s voice hurt their teeth😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂….that movie was absolutely terrible though
-
blanky1AAggressively blandI listened to the entire Eternals episode and that will be enough thanks.
-
Ryan PalesanoGreat chemistryThe only problem I have is that Kent interrupts his friends constantly and you can tell it aggravates the other hosts, although they are life long friends it’s still really fun to listen to!
-
AayciGreat for 7 years I’ve been listeningThe trio try really hard to create an informative, fun, and well balanced podcast even if it affects their mental health. 10/10 recommend! VIP club is also very well maintained.
-
XeryxtOne of my top movie podcasts!🎥I’ve been tuning into MAM ever since I discovered them two and a half years ago via their episode on Stuber. Kent, Brian, and Richard have continued to be engaging and insightful hosts. Even if I don’t agree with their reviews, it’s nonetheless enjoyable and educational to hear differing opinions. Kudos to you, MAM, on your upcoming 800th episode!

inceptor7Because the more you think you see…. The easier it’ll be to fool you..I’ve been listening to these guys for about 2 and a half years now, and they’re great! I like the discussions between them, they keep it very lowkey and don’t do an extreme dive into the movie but keep it chill. Tbh it’s really just 3 friends who discuss a movie every week with banter and a lot of times going off topic! If you want a very focused review, this probably isn’t for you, but I like to hear them discuss it with ease and keep it chill. I love movies and as a young viewer of films I’ve learned a lot from them and they have definitely deepened my love for cinema that most people my age wouldn’t care about at all. They have also made me interested in starting a podcast, so Mr. Kent, Mr. Richard, or Mr. Brian, if y’all would ever like to have a look at movies from a younger dude’s perspective, I would be up for that!…. Assuming you invited me ofc😉 but anyways, I love this show and find myself going back and listening to episodes again and again. Keep up the work guys!!
