alpacagal71FantasticThese episodes are the perfect length, have interesting topics and are mixed with some light humor. The fact that there are no advertisements makes it my go to podcast. Entertaining and informative from a guy that sounds like someone I would enjoy hanging out with.

Flerk69Dear Cheap AstronomySteve, CA Episode 77 is the best *bleep* episode of any *bleep* science podcast in the history of the *bleep*ing podverse ever recoded, broadcast, or even *bleep*ing imaginable. As a humble and faithful listener to such odd things, I’ve been waiting what seems like donks years for some cogent exposition on anything that might elucidate the *bleep*ing hugely unacceptable observations that more distant objects recede more rapidly than less distant objects, as space seems to spontaneously expand in all directions simultaneously, and that though the extremes of this are aeons ago, as well as right between my fingers, and far, far away, and though space is expanding so super-nonlinearly with distance that “soon” we will not be able to see our nearest neighbor stars, because once they accelerate through c relative to an earth observer, POOF. Space goes dark, like forever. I need a rational discussion of this monstrous phenomenon, please, if you could be so kind. Conversely, we seem to have ample talking points for the Big Bang Theory. If one can extrapolate backwards in time to a big bang, where everything in the universe was at or near a point, giving observation-based rationale, theorem, math, modifications, alternative explanations, incorporate standard candles, the 3 Kelvin background radiation, and myriad other facts, guesses, lies, shrugs, etc. then PLEASE, can someone, (for the speeding up of our entropic cosmological drawing and quartering of the universe) do better than “I dunno, Dark Something, or we are all inside a Black Hole, maybe?”. I mean, horse *bleep*! Come on! Give us some paths, some possibilities like mistaken calculation or observation, or time behaved differently way back then, or infinite lensing, or its the forensic footprint of early inflation, or for *bleep* sake make something up! It seems so unsatisfying, ya know? Anywho, see what you can do, let me know if I can help. And best wishes from the 2021 Texas FreezeOut, and of course All the Best to Bridgett, to you, and to yours, from your fan, flutemanjohn

gritmikeLove it!I dig this podcast. Somehow, it never fails to cheer me up - It´s both the content of it (uncompromisingly dense but also fun and self-aware), and the fact that someone is doing such a podcast.

not that doctorGood and enjoyableUnlike so many podcasts that breathlessly snark on anyone but themselves Cheap Astronomy is informative, calm, and just a little mischievous- but not at the expense of anyone else. I really enjoy this and hope he keeps it up. When I first heard it the very even pacing seemed a tad dull but PLEASE hang in there for a few podcasts, you will start to hear the very dry humor and then the timing all makes sense. Great stuff.

Google instructionsThanks / Impressed!I'm grateful for the Cheap Astronomy Podcasts. OneThing they offer above and beyond NASA and similar podcasts is in the area of advocacy for Budgets to fund NASA and similar organizations (e.g. ESA). I'm sure there are rules about this in some organizations, but it's also true that these organizations are feeling a definite financial pinch from today's political circles. Thanks to Cheap Astronomy and other podcasts (e.g. Astronomy Cast) for not only the wonderful information (where else can you hear a simplified summary of research being done on ISS? It can be found, but it's not easy to interpret at times. Thanks again, to Steve, Duranee, and even Julia. Thanks also to Barry for the stats.

MbD535Great Show!I'm normally not a fan of one person podcasts, but Steve has a way of drawing you in to the content and keeping things engaging. Plus he's pretty funny. Definite recommendation for anyone who is interested in astronomy or any of the other related sciences.

GTNAKDCheeaaaap!!!!In the world of astronomy podcasts, this is one of them. If you want a quick and dirty lesson about even some of the toughest subjects presented clearly and cheesily, this is the podcast for you. Cheap doesn't mean bad, in this case. It's like a library with astronomy cliff notes but you don't need to know how to read. Awesome!!!
