Content gets a grade of “B”, Intro is too long, I don’t need to be told over and over again the name of the podcast - once per episode is sufficient. And, we have a paid subscription, yet are still having to listen to ads???

I listened to this podcast every week when it was brand new. I couldn’t wait for the next one to drop every week. I was so saddened by Mark’s passing. Im going back again 2 years later to listened to them again, and they are just as good as before. I hope they pick this podcast back up again sometime. Mark’s voice and story telling are unreplaceable, but maybe they can find someone.

Have been really enjoying this podcast. So sorry to hear about the death of the host, Mark Dodson, several months ago. I hope he knew how much everyone enjoyed his work. I have about 40 more episodes to listen to, but have been taking my time, I don’t want them to end! His voice & story telling really separates this podcast from all the rest!

May G-d rest the soul of Mark! In his honor- FOLLOW THIS SHOW, please! If you like History and mysteries and have heard of Locard… you’ll be hooked! And this is a podcast that you may want to binge once a year. Total classic. Something you will want to revisit again and again.

Mark Dodson (February 1, 1960 – March 2, 2024) was an American voice actor. Dodson had a daughter and grandchildren. While in Evansville, Indiana, to attend a horror convention, he died from a heart attack on March 2, 2024, at the age of 64.

This is SUCH a great show, but there’s just one small problem. The script is clearly written by a British person, whereas the narrator is American. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but it does take you out of the moment to hear phrases like ‘waiting in the queue’ or that so and so ‘turned up’ somewhere. We don’t tend to use those phrases in the States, so the mismatch is off putting. Other than that, great show!

The podcast was great but I don’t really know where mark has been for over two months John Hopkins has two shows and constantly updates them weekly he also bring on guests to every one of his shows mark does none of this yet we are 2 months into the new year with no episode

In a podcast world of loud obnoxious banter and music, it’s fun to get out of your head and another time and enjoy these well put together stories. Wish we had more like this!! Thank you and the voice work is top notch. My favorites at the older cases. 1920’s or 40’s 50’s. Please keep up the great work. You Will not find a better voice actor anywhere. Love this podcast and wish we had more like it. I feel like I’m taken back in time. Even has famous female detective's. Bravo!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 BUT WHEN IS THE NEXT EPISODE???

I downloaded this podcast unsure if I would like it, but it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite true crime podcasts. I like that he doesn’t use foul language and dramatic effects to draw people in. I really like the narrator’s voice and the stories he’s highlighted. My favorite part of true crime is following how the case was solved, and that’s exactly what this show is about.

Is there a better voice for this podcast? NO!!! This is the best podcast- so well written and interesting. I love listening to that deep gravelly macho voice!

I throughly enjoy these stories and how they bounce all over the years. You never know where you will go next and the different detective styles add to the mix. I like the old radio style and that these are true crimes that were solved through tenacity and determination to find the truth. I’m a super fan and excited when each new story becomes available!

Straightforward, suspenseful and entertaining . Not buried in music or special effects. Usually I enjoy the latter but in the case of this podcast, they just aren’t necessary. The narrators voice is calm and very easy to listen to. I can’t wait until each episode comes out.

Sounds kinda weird to have an American film noir-style narrator reading stories obviously written by a British person.

I love this podcast, from the narrator’s old timey detective voice, to the strange but real cases and the detectives that solved them. I always look forward to the next episode!!!

Great podcast but a poor decision to deny access to part 2 unless the listener takes the free trial. Borders on bait and switch. I just waisted my time. Why do great podcasters resort to such childish tactics.

This podcast is amazing. Mark, the host, has a great voice that helps intrigue the listener to turn up the volume more. It’s a classic radio noir. The stories that are presented are great for a wide audience. I’m a big true crime fan but the stories this podcast digs up goes far beyond it. Very good job! Thrill to listen every weeks

The great storytelling, combined with interesting original cases of historic crime make this podcast make it stand out from crowd. I highly recommend people give it a try.

Yes, this podcast grabs my attention like no other. I love the true story aspect, it is very well written. It makes me want to further research topics. The narrator is wonderful.

I love this podcast, it is different than any other podcast in the way that the stories are told. Reminds me of the old detective shows from the 30’s to the 70’s and I love history. This show is different than any other TC out there and a TC fan should give this podcast a listen, one episode and I guarantee that you will be hooked and binge the rest of the episodes.

I listen to the 1st episode and I was hooked. I haven't found a show that has the classic detective noir feel. Plus the narrator has that voice to anchor the show. So far I haven't heard these stories before. If that's your thing you will love the show

Man, this is just one of the best, most engaging podcasts out there! Mark Dodson sounds eerily like William Devane, and it’s told in the style of a great ‘50’s film noire detective movie. Plus, all the details are clearly well researched. Love how it’s told in novel form. You mustn’t miss this podcast!

I search and search for pods like this one. The narrator makes all the difference. Great voice and cadence. And the stories are intriguing without being graphic.
