    BEST PODCAST EVER
Such a GOATED podcast, every episode is so 🔥🔥🔥. You need to listen to it, Zachary Crockett is awesome and the intro music is the best in the world 🎶

    Could be improved
Great topics, enjoy the format. I do find the narrator’s voice a bit “cartoonish” and distracting

    Too much advertising
I get it. A free podcast is not free as one has to listen to ads, which I appreciate, understand, and accept. However, this guy has gotten out of hand. Unless he tones it down I’m out. Love his podcast concept, however, a ton of advertising on a podcast about mall cops, which is fairly lame to begin with, tipped it over for me.

    Kind of interesting
Only lasted 5 minutes. Each sentence is pronounced in the identical tone to the last. Got to where it was so predictable to be annoying. Next.

Very entertaining podcast - one of the best!
This podcast brings light to every day things and topics you would never think you wanted to learn about, but end up finding fascinating. It’s great storytelling combined with history, facts, science and everything else in between! Our whole family enjoys listening to this podcast and we have heard each and every one!

    Obsessed
So interesting! Some topics I’ve wondered about and some I’ve never thought about, but all super interesting. I’m obsessed with this podcast now.

    Great, informative, easy to understand.
I really enjoy this short, easy to digest show. My son likes to listen when he’s in the car with me. Can you do a show on Toll Tags? I see them on just about every car where I live.

It is a blast, listening to this podcast and learning all these obscure things. Really fun.

    Great
I think this podcast is great it helps me to bed and they give out a new one every week. I also think it is great because you can send in your requests

    Not a priority
The podcast is great but content is rarely new. Feels like they have been replaying lots of old podcasts lately, sometimes with a slight update. Not sure if the host has fallen out of love with this project or what but it’s sad to see such a great podcast go stale.
  • Qwertiop8
    Reliably interesting and intelligent!
This is one of a small number of podcasts for which I find every single episode both educational and super-enjoyable The content always has some fascinating tidbits in it, and the host is engaged and lively without sounding fake Consistent 5 star show; highly recommended! I also appreciate that the podcast doesn't play the whole freakonomics theme tune : I hate that theme!

    Quick bites of mind-blowing info
Super interesting show. Well-edited and compact. Grateful for how short the episodes are while still being jam-packed with both mind-blowing info and human interest and humor.
  • Scottie2Fit
    Quick and interesting
Fun and quick episodes in things you may never think about. Usually led me to a bit more googling

    Great podcast!
Glad I found this through Freakonomics. Every show is a great short insight into some great topics. I would like to suggest stagehands for a future topic. Personally I’m an entertainment rigger and stagehand. Would be a fun topic. Keep up the great work!

    Often Smarmy
Some interesting content usually overshadowed by the narrator’s smugness. This show really loves it’s intros an outros. It’s really just a base line, so it’s not nearly as clever as the pod producers think it is.

    My new favorite podcast
How could I have known there were so many fascinating facts about sushi?!? Every episode provides delightful nuggets of information about subjects you never thought you’d have an interest in.

    Tiny bites of brilliance
These fun-sized episodes are perfect for quick car rides and bus stops. Entertaining and informative, I appreciate that I can listen to this podcast with my tweens, and then have a mature and thoughtful conversation about the subject.

Perfect podcast for a dog walk
Great podcast of useful information. I appreciate the thorough research and well put together stories. Also appreciate the fact that the podcast does not take on any political or religious views which seem to be crowding out every other piece of news available for us right now. Keep up the good work!
  • PHXCigarGuy
    Lives up to the title
I can’t say enough about how much I like this show. Great insights into the things we likely take for granted in our everyday life. Congrats Zachary and team!
  • Sweatpants00
Smart, light, and concise yet still feels detailed. Cherishable!
Smart, light, and concise yet still feels detailed. Cherishable! HOWEVER, please ditch the ads supporting products/businesses based solely on skin. This is the 2020’s, not 1920’s. Rational and just people buy based on quality, price, size of business, and mission. If you’re pitching based on skin, I know a Nigerian prince who needs some quick cash that your customers should talk to.

hope there’s many more to come!
Love those little podcasts, perfect for commute to work and we enjoy listening to them at dinner when it’s just me and my husband. Fun and informative, about the most unexpected everyday things! I Look forward to every new show!

    Great show
    Too many ads though.

    Excellent Show!
I’m an Economics and Personal Finance high school teacher and encourage my students to listen to this podcast, although I have to caution them about a few of the episodes just because of the topics discussed. I would LOVE to hear the Economics of being a Teacher, especially with the 10 month pay (for many of us) and the misunderstanding of where the money for teacher salaries comes from, i.e., federal, state, local. There are some really interesting considerations with these issues that could be explored.

    How everything works
This show basically tells you how everything works below the surface, but not too much, making it informative yet entertaining.
  • LM081511
    So good!
I love this podcast it’s so cool to listen to how things I never thought about financially are financially and I would love to listen to one about like trading card games like Pokémon or magic the gathering. Keep up the good work!

    Love it
Love this show! Learned so much. Why not do an episode on insulin, or epi pens?
  • Sdbruening
    Brief, Informative, and Engaging
Got into this show because of Freakonomics Radio. Really glad I did! I appreciate that each episode is kept brief, under half an hour. So many podcasts’ episodes are so long now. I like that it’s a quick, interesting dive into a topic I might not have thought to look into.
  • Listener Dude
    Worst episode ever
The tomato guy? I listen to a lot of podcasts. Hours every day. The tomato episode made me want to never listen to another podcast. You guys need to work harder on good topics, good guests and good ideas. This was way below your typical episode. The dude was a self-important self-serious bore. Just terrible. Please, find better material. You’re slipping

    Good Podcast, Bad Name
This podcast is interesting and well-written. The title is just not appropriate for the content. Most episodes are about rare or niche things, definitely not everyday things.
  • etherdog
    We miss Bepu
This podcast is so general that it is worthless. You THINK you are getting some nugget of wisdom but it is another airball. On the episode about animal urine there wasn’t much discussion of the conditions for the animals whose urine was collected. This is unconscionable and tacitly supports inhumane treatment of animals. I have to come down hard against this podcast. We don’t have a grudge against the host, Zachary Crockett, but we do object to Dubner’s churn—killing perfectly fine shows and hosts (and sometimes superior ones like Bapu Jena), just to show Leavitt that he can quit things, too. Maybe it is time for the Freakonomics management to step in to prevent Dubner from emulating Musk. After listening to the most recent episode, it seems that just when the information is getting deep enough and interesting, the show abruptly ends.

Answers to so many of my random internal questions
Love this podcast! It succinctly answers many of the questions that have quickly passed through my mind during my day-to-day life, and it also answers so many of the questions I’ve never even thought to ask. Highly recommend!

    Love it!
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Only complaint is that I wish the episodes were longer and came out more often! I learn so much every time I listen.
  • Jbabz128

    Love it
Love this podcast. Funny segments about products and businesses you’d never think about. Wish it was a twice a week show.
  • StellaLuna1424
    Fantastic show!!
Zachary is a great host, I love the topics he covers and the questions he asks. I appreciate that he tells the listener when an ad is coming instead of doing the ad abruptly like other podcasts. The shows are the perfect length as well. I get so excited when I see a new episode.

    One of My Favorites!
Interesting topics and a fun light hearted approach to economic topics you typically don’t think of. Always excited when a new episode drops!

    Love!
Love the topics, love format, love length! I always wanted to know how private labels worked!
  • Kjsalmon
    Love it!
I’m really enjoying learning the behind the scenes info about these topics. I also like the 20-30 minute episode length. Good stuff, keep going!!
  • SoCalCuster
    Mixed episodes
Some are more sensationalist, such as the recent on on sex scenes. It was more gossip versus economics. Obviously a trade off for clicks.
  • Matthew/Crookston
    Wow!
The amount of entertaining and enlightening information packed into each short episode is unsurpassed by any other podcast that I’ve heard. I am looking forward to the next episode!! Matt
  • LittleRedwood
    Fun and educational
This show is the number 1 podcast that both my 11-year-old and 14-year-old would listen to on car rides. It’s fun and educational. The subjects are unusual and they are truly about “everyday things”. Please make an episode about the latest viral trend on Stanley cups!
  • Jay Irillium
    Best Podcast EVER!
Yes, this podcast is the best. Besides being entertaining, and educating at the same time, the subjects are so wacky and fun!
