Thought by Thought Healing

Thought By Thought Healing is a podcast for those looking to overcome chronic pain & symptoms.

I am Jen Johnson, chronic pain coach, and this show is focused on discussing everything related to curing persistent symptoms with evidence-based techniques. I am a Christian and when I first discovered the mind-body syndrome - also referred to as TMS, neuroplastic pain, & neural circuit pain - I was struck by how the neuroscience of pain and the mind body connection align perfectly with scripture. I recovered from my own story of pain as I understood how our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes & emotions played out in the nervous system in ways I never knew was possible. On this show, I interview experts in the field & discuss the intersection of the gospel & mind-body medicine. I also openly share tools I used in my own healing journey, and still use today with my clients.

My hope is that you, too, will learn how to heal. Reversing chronic pain includes emotional, mental and spiritual healing. It truly changes your life; something you don’t want to miss out on. Thought by thought, you can find freedom. Welcome to the journey.

    Amazing Resource!!
I studied mind body syndrome in 2018 and began to apply some of the practices in order to address my chronic pain. I saw great results. After a few years of reprieve, I let 2022 through today completely hijack my nervous system with chronic pain. I think I had amnesia and forgot all that I had learned. I was so determined to fix myself and I hyper focused on my symptoms. It has robbed me of life and joy. Then I discovered Jen and I have been voraciously consuming every episode. The content has been a grace gift and I’m already seeing results after a week. Thank you for doing this podcast and keeping your faith at the center. You are an answer to prayer.

Her approach and tons of topics help me keep my mindset on curiosity, my needs, emotions and off the fear/fix it cycle. I also enjoy her faith perspective which is a huge resource for me and my clients also.

Much needed resource for Christian perspective on pain neuroscience
I was in high levels pain when I came across the website for the film This Might Hurt and found you in the resources there. Your podcast has been crucial in tying all the pieces of information together from a biblical perspective, especially in regard to understanding personality traits that contribute to pain (fascinating!) and other practical aspects like how to journal with hope and replacing unhealthy patterns with the truth of the scriptures. This is a much needed resource for Christians who are suffering from any kind of chronic pain and want to learn about how to reverse symptoms. So much of this aligns with scripture and provides so much hope where there often is none. As my pain has subsided, I am so thankful and praise God for allowing our bodies and minds to heal, giving us confidence there is "a way out" of chronic pain! I now truly appreciate the real meaning of 2 Corinthians 10:5 "take every thought captive."
