    Awesome!
Long time fan! I love it. I love the actors and the script. I love the interactions between the characters and the variety. Great job!! Always looking forward to the new episodes.

    A compelling mystery
I love the imagination in this show - the intersection of different ideas in language, zoology, history, and other fields is so interesting. The sound design is also great - I love how different creatures and environments are represented in soundscapes and effects. There's a good mix of "diagetic" action scenes recorded by the protagonist, and narration or conversation that serves to recount storylines, and it flows pretty seamlessly together. I'm intrigued by the layered mysteries of the Breach and what's beyond, and I can't wait to hear where the Breachers' adventures take them next.

    Slow burn
This is a slow burn - which I personally love in books, movies, tv shows. Some of the voice actors ring more true than others, but I think that’s true with most podcasts.

    Wasted Idea
The premise of the podcast is good, but there is almost no action or suspense in the story line. I’ve given this podcast 12 episodes so far but it been one soliloquy after another with no real plot development. This is slow and plodding and doesn’t really seem to be building to anything.

World building, wonderful characters, lots of mystery!
So addictive! An amazing cast with spooky stories of how each character wound up at the mysterious and fascinating Vincula. The world building and creature profiles are fantastic. I loved the descriptions of everything encountered. Super high stakes and you never know who is going to make it out okay in any given situation. Excellent sound design, story, writing, and acting.

You HAVE to listen to this show
If you’re into world-building or creatures or found family or mysterious organizations or huge discoveries or awesome characters or spooky music or adventuring or nihilism or weird things you can’t explain or facing fears or finding beauty in horror…… please give Syntax a shot. Season two is about halfway through right now and I eagerly await each new episode. I’m surprised by the amount of negative reviews, don’t let those make your decision for you! Love this show

    Give it a try!
The voice acting is great and the quality is top notch. Story is dark but very interesting. Give it a try!

Loved the character Cassius played by Elizabeth phung
The character is voice acted incredibly and I love that Elizabeth Phung shows every emotion! I can hear the pain in her voice and it was beautiful! They need to give her a raise!!

Disappointing - great for putting you to sleep
Premise is good and voice actors have wonderful voices, but the script is so bad. Author needs a good editor. People don't say things like "there was a light and it's colour was blue-green" and "I set it upon" they say "it had a blue-green light" and "I put it on". One actor speaks in a southern drawl for no good reason and throws in stock phrases like "don't mind me" totally out of context. And for an inexplicable reason does the main character's chores. There's an unhealthy dynamic there - Black women clean up after white men - both physically and emotionally? With a good editor the episodes might be half the length with far more drama and realism. So unfortunate because there is a potentially good story buried here.

    Such a great sci-fi concept
I'm so glad that Syntax popped up on my radar because it's been such an interesting listen! The mystery of the breach and the world beyond it are communicated so well, and the main POV of a linguist is a really neat take on the mix of sci-fi and borderline fantasy happening within that universe. The characters have great dynamics and every new episode leaves me hungry for the next.

    So much potential…
This podcast has an interesting premise and strong storyline. The sound design is also good. Unfortunately I wish the voice actors were better. It’s like they’re reading straight from the script. One of them sounds like an 8th grader on a camping trip…and this is supposed to be specialists on a scientific expedition…!?! Utterly unconvincing. It really detracts from an otherwise intriguing story which is in fact its strongest element. Every time I’m tempted to walk away from this podcast, it reels me back in…

    The Acting
You are going to be mad at me, but the acting is so bad I couldn’t listen. All the…..pauses just like….it was James….T….Kirk doing the dialog. Absolutely nothing natural about the conversation at all. And the lines just sploosh with drama. And not in a good way. Feel like I need to dry off. But I think the idea is great! Again, hate me if you want, but I would encourage you to keep working on it. Go listen to the first episode of The White Vault, any episode of Wooden Overcoats or a hundred other really well acted podcasts and really listen. Notice what’s different in your podcast. Notice the sound beds and things. And most of all, notice how the dialog seems like people talking, not reading a script.

    Awesome Cocept
Very interesting story designed to leave you hungry for more. Well designed characters, unique personalities and an array of interactions that blend nicely to draw you in. Each character has their own quips which make them easy to relate to and become invested in. Unnerving story and suspenseful scenes. Definitely a great addition to the horror podcast genre!

    Promising start!
A very interesting premise and a decent beginning! I’m looking forward to where this goes. Sound quality and mixing has been good so far, only a few points in there that I feel could use improvement, though I believe it’s more of an issue with a couple characters’ mics maybe? In any case, can’t wait to see more!

    Need to Know More!
Really enjoying what I’ve heard so far, cool world, very interested to see where this goes!

    Horror Fiction at its finest!
The premise, the mix, the acting. 10/10! This show is something special! We can't wait to hear more of this haunting world! -The Call of the Void Team
