    Informative and fun
Thank you guys so much for this show. It’s been my go to for my drives and has given me so much insight when it comes to my investing in the stock market and even in real estate. Just recently FIREd and it’s in part thanks to this podcast, I always look forward to the newest episode!

    Helping me feel financially literature
I love this show and I love Katie (I’m also a big fan of her other podcast, Diabolical Lies). I’ve always felt like financial content wasn’t for me, I work in public health and just always figured that I wouldn’t be in the tax bracket to be someone who would ever attain financial freedom. Katie is helping me to at least not feel completely overwhelmed by the world of finance, and the discussions of broader social and structural issues keep me engaged in the content. However, as someone living paycheck to paycheck without much of a safety net who is also trying to pay off student loans, I sometimes feel left behind by these conversations and wish there was more financial advice for those who are just trying to get by.

    Katie’s biggest fan
This is absolutely my favorite podcast and I listen religiously as soon as another episode is released. I love how the content has evolved over time. I started listening to learn more about smart tax strategies but as I have consumed all of the sage personal finance advice that exists, the more critical, systems level conversations have really resonated with me. And while it can be depressing to examine where we are, it is also hopeful to expose the inequity in our financial policy and imagine different possibilities. I came to write this review on the JL Collins interview. I truly struggled to get through it as the conversation turned to college and who it is for. His perspective was steeped in white, male privilege as he lamented that college is not for everyone without acknowledging the experience of so many of us first gen kids of color who, without access to higher education, would have been locked into a cycle of poverty. And while critical thinking skills are at an all time low and most Americans fail to demonstrate a basic understanding of how things work, we should not be knocking higher education. Finally, it boils my blood to hear wealthy college educated white men say college is not for everyone, knowing they’re not referencing their children or grandchildren in that statement, who they will certainly encourage to attend. They’re referencing those who they acknowledge belong in lower tiered income brackets, or the better compensated trades, but again they do not mean college is not for “us”, they are actually stating college is not for “you”. This approach has led me to stop consuming financial advice from white men as they lack the awareness to consider the female/person of color experience in this country.

Incredibly Educational, but Sometimes Out of Reach
I genuinely love this podcast. Katie breaks down complex financial concepts in a way that’s smart, engaging, and totally digestible. It’s one of the few money shows I can listen to without zoning out or feeling completely lost. That said, as a 26-year-old working at a nonprofit in D.C., trying to stay afloat and pay off debt, I sometimes feel left behind in the conversations. I actually earn more than the average American—and still, the strategies often feel geared toward those with serious wealth or high disposable income. It’s hard to think about optimizing tax strategies, backdoor Roths, or donor-advised funds when you’re just trying to stay housed and put food on the table. I think it’s worth acknowledging that if I feel left out of these discussions, the average American likely does too. I listen because I believe in the power of financial education—and Katie does it better than almost anyone. I’d just love to see more content for those still in the trenches, not just those on the financial offense.

I always enjoy this show and love episodes that make me think and experience different perspectives.

Valuable and Useful while still being fun
SAHM mom here in North Dallas. I love the show! I do miss the tactical finance episodes but do enjoy the new content as well. I’m writing this mostly to let you know as a SAHM mom of 3 littles, I find your content just perfect and it gives me brain tingles which is so nice because as a SAHM mom there’s only so much unicorn and monster truck talk I can do without going a little crazy. Anyways keep up the amazing content and I”ll listen as often as I can even if it takes me a couple of days to get through all of it bc mom life means I’m constantly getting interrupted. Ignore the other SAHMs they can truly be the worst and keep doing what yall are doing! Also love Keds when she’s on! Thanks for introducing me to her.

    Appreciate the Insights and Evolution
Katie - I felt compelled to write a review despite having been a regular listener for about two years. As a single 40 year old female on solid (not perfect) financial footing with a penchant for economics, I appreciate the evolution into broader macroeconomic and socioeconomic topics. While I also enjoy personal finance oriented episodes (particularly more granular investing and insurance episodes), I agree that once someone is in good financial standing, it can be helpful to gain perspective on these broader issues. I value the content you put out into the world and I haven’t found anything comparable so please keep up all the great work you and your team have been doing!

Useful and full of big picture ideas
I find money management shows typically insufferable. There’s often an implicit assumption that any financial stress can be resolved with enough life hacks. I love that this show recognizes the structural challenges that many millennials face in saving up for life events while still providing really solid, actionable guidance.

    Fun and thought provoking
Katie and Henah are true gems and I’m forever grateful to Ramit Sethi for turning me onto this podcast last year. I love that they tackle complex economic topics in a way that is both digestible and fun but doesn’t try to dumb things down for you either. Learning how to balance living (and thriving?) under capitalism but not let it erase your humanity is tough but these ladies make it a little easier.

    Refreshing and Honest
Love listening to this podcast. As a millennial, healthcare worker, and mom, I’ve found the transition to focus on systemic economic topics such a great move. I’m learning a lot, and definitely feel seen - especially in the episodes on childcare and health economics.

    So Insightful
As a GenX mom of two young women, I am so grateful for both Money With Katie and Diabolical Lies. My kids are listening along with me, and we all agree that if you want to surround yourself with smart people, listening to KGT must be part of your media diet.

    Thank you!
Listening to the most recent rich girl roundup, and wanted to say I really appreciate the unapologetic academic rigor and explicit anti capitalist stance. I don’t buy that this gets in the way of more “practical” matters, as we know individual self blame and “personal responsibility” can be incredibly harmful!
  • Xgheib
    Thanks
This show has been really helpful to me as I’ve rebuilt my financial life after a disastrous divorce. I’ve loved listening as the show has expanded its scope to deeper and more theoretical economic concerns. Thank you!

Chill out haters - we’re evolving
This show is so good. To all the folks complaining that the show isnt tactical anymore or that it’s too political now, well you’re entitled to that opinion, but I think it’s for the best. It’s really cool to see how much Katie has grown as a rich girl and I like to think I’m growing along with her. I love the direction this show is going, it just might not be for everyone, and that’s okay. Maybe it would have made more sense to start a new podcast instead of continuing with the old name? That might have provided people with a clearer demarcation between old tactical stuff and the new stuff. Either way, love it, thanks for all you do, so glad I found you, xoxo gossip girl

    Mind blown
Complex, thought provoking info packaged in easy to understand conversations. Just when I think I’ve heard it all, another episode is released and my mind is blown again. Thx for the great pod.

    Best episode ever
Just listened to the new episode and oh my god, it’s so good. I have never purposefully reviewed a podcast, but I had to leave one and say this conversation was so well done and informative and makes me feel more optimistic about our future than I have in a while. Thank you so much for your work. Love, a 30 something, tired, married, working economist Mom.

    Missing Rich Girl Roundups
This has been one of my favorite podcasts for about a year now. I really enjoy Katie’s analyses and deep dives into some challenging money topics. However, I really disliked the move to get rid of the rich girl roundup on Mondays. I find that the episodes now are just audio essays and no longer meant to educate people on tackling their personal finance. I love the show but I’ve found myself less interested in tuning in every week since the change.

    GLP-1s
It’s a great pod except for the weight loss drug eps. Katie has a clear bias (she recently said on her other pod that she thinks GLP-1s are just a money grab). She could have had ONE of the MILLIONS these drugs have helped on instead of the one person who they didn’t work for. She’s usually well-researched but this was not it. Like yes, obviously, the Big Pharma of it all is atrocious. The compounding is concerning. But the shortage is long over, the drugs have been extensively studied, and millions have been helped. Very disappointing.

More a comment than review but SS is an entitlement and a benefit we pay into against our will. We are entitled to money we pay into the government against our will even if we don’t get a fraction of the money returned over a lifetime. Keep up the good work!

    Just unsubscribed
Just listened to the “social wealth fund” episode. Really just a show promoting the Northern European version of socialism. Huge assumptions with logic gaps in second and third order effects. Sounded like two young millennials trying to tell the rest of America they’re behaving poorly. “It’s not so much that I’m mad. Just disappointed”
  • PrincessKK1969
    Pretentious
The host speaks about every topic like someone who has spent their entire life in academia.

    Ignorant clowns: “Reproductive justice” 🤡
Where is justice for the millions of unborn children that had their right to life robbed from them? Just say it plainly what it really is: ABORTION, aka MURDERING BABIES. The cognitive dissonance on this basic fact discredits your critical thinking and especially on the basic facets of life which is at the lowest common denominator to be alive and to protect and nurture human life. Fun fact: abortion SURVIVORS, aka BABIES who survived their mother’s attempt at killing them in the womb, DO EXIST and there are plenty of those who are grown up now since abortion had been legal in this country for over 50 years. Read and listen to their testimonies and those of former abortionists and former pro-choice women who actually had abortions. Most women regret aborting their children, it’s a fact. To say “reproductive justice” is a slap to their faces for surviving attempted dismemberment/chemical abortions and for being alive, and is a dance on the unmarked graves of millions of unborn babies. Oh wait, they don’t have graves because abortionists and their staff toss them into the biohazard bags and either throw them in with other garbage or ship the corpses off to labs for experiments. No names, no dignity, and no respect were ever given to those infants who they brutalize and murder for “health.” Sick and disgusting to call that reality “justice.”

Pretty new here and have listened to a handful of eps. I love the show and want to be friends, lol. I have a near obsession with economics and history and your content is top notch. Keep up the great work.

Two Sides to the Money Story?
Loving the MMT intro on Money with Katie. Would be great to hear both sides—maybe Stephanie Kelton to unpack MMT’s case, paired with someone like Lyn Alden to question it from a grounded finance angle. Could make for a balanced, eye-opening chat!

Could not love this show more
I’ve been following various personal finance people for 7-8ish years now (my fave is Ramit Sethi), and IG put a reel in front of me that was Katie explaining how we are essentially being *forced* to understand money and investing these days. Because for those who don’t, there is zero safety net for our older years and zero other ways to (somewhat) guarantee an ability to afford medical care and basic needs like housing. Essentially she explained that capitalism creates more capitalism and forces us to make decisions for individual self preservation, and that we need to keep in mind that investing is a must, but it is not a way to build true community safety and security. I was SOLD. I’m not explaining it nearly as eloquently as Katie did, but I instantly subscribed to this podcast, and have learned a lot since, and I appreciate this whole society perspective so very much.

Weight loss episode. The testimony of one person is used to vilify all health professionals. But neither you or the guest are health professionals. Maybe you should include some disclaimers that this is one person’s experience

    I Usually Love Katie
But I did not enjoy this latest series on weight loss drugs. Her opinions seemed empty since she does not (and seemingly has never) struggled with her weight or lived in a fat body and she only spoke to people with negative opinions so it seemed biased. I absolutely don’t want to say “stick to your own lane” because I do enjoy her commentary on poverty, housing inequity etc but this was not it for me.

Over my head and I love it
I spend a lot of time listening to educational podcasts - business, economics and money. I stumbled across this show and have been so impressed by Katie and the content she and team make. Other female finance podcasters, understandably, aim for the bottom/middle of people - basic concepts, practices and purchaseable content for more advanced topics (good for them!). What I love about Katie is the research is SO deep, so balanced and well thought out and chances are good I have not heard any given topic before - I find myself a bit lost. So much information, so much data, AND I LOVE IT. it makes me curious, pay attention, and finally find a new area I want to dig in and get familiar with. I am intimidated but not belittled, I am the dumbest person in the proverbial “room” with a host who welcomes me and doesn’t expect me to be an insider. This is not an echo chamber or a sales pitch pod and I love it. Thank you Katie and team, keep up the good work! I look forward to being utterly lost for the foreseeable future.

    My new favorite podcast
I’ve loyally listened to a LOT of different podcasts in the past 10+ years and this podcast has become a favorite. Maybe THE favorite. I’m likely much older than most listeners (52) and I have learned so much from Katie. I’ve also been inspired by her positions on policy and ethics and she challenges me every episode. I think nearly everyone could benefit from listening.
  • Kitt_katt_99
    So well researched and informative
This show quickly became by go-to for deep dives and interesting topics. Every topic is delivered respectfully and fairly, with deep research you can explore after.

    Best finance podcast out there
Not boring topics or just getting lectured too. Katie takes a real deep dive into all layers and levels of finance. She also makes sure she isn’t shaming you and embracing very healthy saving and investing

Ignore the 1-star reviews: This show is SO SMART
The reviewers leaving a one-star review complaining that Katie has a political agenda are completely missing the point. No matter what your political view, if you’re interested in the bigger picture about money and personal finance, you’ll find that this podcast is full of some of the most interesting conversations out there Yes, finance is tied up in with the political, but as Katie points out to insist otherwise is a political statement too. I , for one, am loving the deeper investigation of the systems at work in our lives.

    Finance and Everything
Thank goodness there’s women in the finance space. But the reason I kept listening (and continue to listen) are the continuous topic analysis about how finance affects…. Everything. THANK YOU.

    Mind Blowing
I’ve been listening to this show for a couple years and her investigative episodes are getting more and more interesting. In fact, they are so well-told that it is changing my perspective on economics. Thank you for tackling such huge issues while still talking about ground-level, personal finance.

    Original Fan…
I used to LOVE this show and have listened to every episode over the years. Her early episodes are great! However, there’s been a major shift over the last couple years. Every single episode has such a negative and angry tone. Really puts you in a bummed mood. I wonder if she actually listens to her episodes and realizes how negative they have gotten over the years. The Monday episodes with Henah are so much better than her angry diary rants that she reads to us on Wednesdays. Her political bias is in every episode. “MONEY IS POLITICAL” -we get it. Other podcasters like Ramit do this way better. He often shares his political views on socials and mostly leaves it out of his show. His show is so much more positive and uplifting. The Money with Katie Show could be so much better.

    So great.
Longtime listener, first time commenter. Loved the most recent episode about the last 40 years. Great analysis, easy to understand and listen to, well researched, and ends on a (surprisingly!) positive note. Keep it up Katie!

    Thank u
Amazing, good production & you can tell there is a lot of thought in each episode. I am also learning a lot about finance as a woman in my late 20s with a spending issue who has only recently started saving $$ and needed to know about all of these things but didn't know where to start.

If you think this show is Marxist you’re missing the point
This is the single best podcast I have ever listened to in any genre. I have listened to every single episode, and never miss the weekly episodes. This show not only provides specific tactile personal finance recommendations, it analyzes our role in the systems we exist within that DIRECTLY impact our financial well being. It is an incredibly well researched show, and KGT is a powerhouse that represents the best of our generation’s thought leaders. You would be hard pressed to find a better podcast to fully understand not only your finances but the ways the world around you plays a part in your financial life, and what you can do within those systems to take control. If you come into this podcast with an *open mind*, you can glean incredibly useful life skills. Or you can get defensive, miss the point entirely, and write it off as Marxist. Your choice.

I love this show and listen regularly. But I wish they didn’t play music (terrible elevator music) under her speaking. It’s so distracting and there’s no need for it. Please remove the music!

    Too Marxist…
Used to enjoy this show but it’s changed from financial advice to mostly political tirades lol. Pretty off putting if you’re not a Marxist, especially if you’re a woman who is happy raising kids. Katie makes a lot of very judgmental comments about caretaking. And I just generally disagree with the premises she has about what a good society (to her and her Marxist friends) looks like… I can’t listen any more because the rare financial advice among the ample political opining is coming from a source whose world view is basically the opposite of mine. Anyways. You will probably enjoy it if you’re into Marxism…
