    Great podcast
It’s so refreshing to listen to these two, with whom I have shared so much without ever having met them, discuss each episode in depth. And I’ve learned a few things, too. Smart and maniacal. Love it.

    My People!
Just discovered this show when looking for info on the Animated Series. It’s been a blast to listen to the deep dive right after watching a TAS episode myself. I can’t wait to do the same with the Original Series… I’m going to do all 80 episodes! Scott and Steve are just slightly older than me but I too grew up on TOS and TAS. So awesome to find a fun pair of podcasters with such enthusiasm for and insight into Star Trek.

    Best show ever!
Finally getting around to writing a review. Listening to the podcast for the second time, right after watching each episode of TOS. Scott and Steve have so much knowledge, insight, and love for Star Trek, it is infectious. Some Star Trek episodes I end up liking more than I originally did because of Scott’s enthusiasm. Steve is a little more objective, which helps balance it out. This podcast is a do not miss for Star Trek TOS fans.

    Best TOS Podcast!
If you are a TOS fan or would like to learn more about the iconic show that launched the Star Trek phenomena, the Enterprise Incidents is for you! Scott and Steve will take you where “No Fan Has Gone Before!” I discovered this while searching for Star Trek Enterprise podcasts and decided to listen in as most “Enterprise” podcasts seemed to be going through the motions and I’m glad I did. I grew up on TOS reruns and it always was my favorite Star Trek Show with my favorite captain so that may make me a little biased in favor of this podcast. Scott and Steve are die hard Star Trek fans, but also work in the industry so they can explain production details and challenges. They have actually had the director of a few the original episodes and that was truly awesome! Their discussions are not limited to they episode of the week, they provide many details such as whether the episode was over or under budget, background details from behind the scenes and what was going the week the actual episodes were filmed. All of that is amazing, but their true stroke of genius in the approach they are taking is reviewing the episodes in production not air date order. This allows powerful insights to the development of the characters in chronological order and amazingly demonstrates real continuity over time as if TOS was lightly serialized instead of purely episodic. I am really blown away by Scott and Steve’s thoughtful approach to this podcast but that’s not all. You can really feel their love for TOS, the main cast, guest stars, directors, writers, camera work, lighting, background scenery, props & special effects. And finally, you can tell Scott and Steve have a great friendship which makes their combined efforts on this podcast something extraordinary for all of us to enjoy and nothing for either of them to be ashamed of. Very soon I’ll be all caught up as I on Amok Time now and am looking forward to more from Scott and Steve, they truly have, in my opinion, the best, most informative and thoughtful TOS Podcast out there! Keep it up Scott and Steve, Happy New Year and LLAP! Oliver 8/6/23 Update 11 out 5 stars! Steve and Scott had their last Enterprise Incidents episode today. I will miss them and this Podcast! If you love TOS and TAS and Star Trek you owe yourself a listen through this! I am looking forward to Scott returning with more Trek and hearing more from Steve on Cinefiles! Thank you both for everything!

Love this show but one complaint… in the Trek III episode you can’t leave the young listeners hanging… for us littles that listen to this podcast I had to look up who released “Born in the USA”. You never said who the artist was! Great show guys, I appreciate your work 😀 -Jeff

    Trek Here
I cannot remember before Star Trek. It has always been in my life. I was born in 1974 and as far back as I can remember I have been watching Trek. I've enjoyed its many incarnations--some more than others. However, this (TOS) is the foundation. The cornerstone on which the indescribably influential franchise was built. This podcast understands what Trek is and that its potential has yet to be reached. Steve and Scott are quite different from one another, but like Lennon and McCartney... or... Spock and Kirk, there is a balance there. I love Star Trek and its characters--Spock being the character in all of Trek (maybe in all of sci-fi... or even all of fiction) I regard the highest. And Kirk. James T. Kirk is an icon of character and charisma. He is a flawed hero prevailing over his flaws to be better than his bravery, boldness, and base instinct. Truth be told, most Trekkies annoy me. I absolutely love Trek, but I can't stomach most Trek talkers or their podcasts. They offer nothing but rambling and narrow understanding in their commentary. What's different about Scott and Steve is that you get that stream of facts, but you also get insight into the characters, the filmmaking, and an informed and far more objective view of Trek as a significant piece in the larger puzzle of entertainment history. I recommend this podcast with all my recommending vigor and volume.

An EXCELLENT discussion of each episode of Star Trek
I love this podcast! The enthusiasm and encyclopedic Trek knowledge of Scott Mantz, combined with the wit and philosophical perspective of Steve Morris makes each episode a treasure! I also feel like I am learning so much about how to direct, edit, and script a tv show (from Steve’s directorial comments). These friends make their discussions a joy to listen to. I cannot recommend this enough!
  • annmarie222
Yay! “Friends” to watch TOS with!!
So excited for my 1st complete TOS watch and loving these episode discussions!!!!! Can’t wait for more!!! Addendum: with the state of the world right now, the segment on what was going on in the world during filming for each episode is SO relevant and thought-provoking. Thank you both so much!!!

    Perfect for TOS fans
It’s hard to put into words how good this podcast is. The combination of Scott’s encyclopedic knowledge of the series and behind-the-scenes stories mixed with Steve’s thoughtful perspectives on life and science and humanity is just amazing. If you told me a year ago I’d be this excited to listen to two dudes talk about each original series episode for 2+ hours, I’d say you’re out of your Vulcan mind, but this podcast is so, so good. It’s the ultimate love letter to one of the most important pieces of our television heritage, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

New perspectives on a classic show
I really enjoy listening to these guys deep dive on this classic show. Episodes I’ve seen again and again for decades now have another new lens and perspective to look through, making me want to rewatch the whole show all over again. Thank you so much for doing this podcast!

    Absolutely outstanding
I love, love, LOVE this podcast. Just the fact that they discuss them in production, not airing order is brilliant. You watch the chemistry of the cast develop over time. The things these two hosts pick up on, the subtleties and nuance is amazing. I’ve developed a whole new appreciation for Shatner’s talent. Did I mention I love it!!

    Great Trek
I enjoyed listening to all the episodes. Great insight, clips, and observations. If you’re a fan of TOS, you will enjoy.

    The best
The best Trek podcast IMO. Even when Scott and Steve disagree (looking at Lucien😂) , they respect each others opinions and dont try to convince one or the other that their opinion is ‘the right one’. Really appreciate that.

Thank you for the pleasure & wit of this outstanding podcast!!!! Maybe for your last episode you could go over the history of the namesake- only carrier in the Pacific in WW2 for some time, scrapped but the name lives on!

I love Star Trek but couldn't tell you why. Scott and Steve can tell you why!!!
I love these guys. Scott's energy is boundless and his knowledge of the show is astounding. Steve's insights on story telling and production illuminate what makes the show so compelling. These guys love the show unconditionally, as do I, and unflinchingly point out the quirks and flaws that make us go 'hmmmm' without ruining the spirit of the show. I highly highly recommend this show!!! Start from episode 1.

    Great show
Got hooked on this via Cine-Files podcast which is also very good. I am binging through the original series episodes and it’s a real treat.
  • It's alright; I'm a doctor.
    Just here for TAS
It’s unusual for any podcast to spend time on the admittedly weak animated series, so I like the earnest discussions. It can be improved if they would correct how they record their audio. I am guessing they have never listened to their own podcast. If they had, they would notice that often the first syllable or word of a sentence is missing. This is because an automated noise gate is running. This makes the podcast hard to listen to. Just turn off the noise gate.

    My friends, we’ve come home
I came to Enterprise Incidents late in the run last summer and have just finished Turnabout Intruder. It seemed a fitting moment to leave a review. I have enjoyed their podcast on multiple levels- the subject matter of course, the analysis of each episode as both a stand alone and part of a continuing series, the lessons on filmmaking from Steve, the realization that I’m not the only one who still cries during episodes of Star Trek from Scott. Some of my best memories of the last nine months have been accompanied by Scott and Steve and Enterprise Incidents in my ears. Scott and Steve, you have given OT Trek fans a gift- the gift of company of those who share a love of Star Trek. I only wish we could have split a pizza together.

So fun to watch & listen
I enjoy listening to Enterprise Incidents and hearing the insights that the hosts bring to the making of the show.

    The enthusiasm is contagious!
I’m a little late to the party, but I discovered this a few months ago and simply love it! As a proud member of Star Trek’s Syndication Generation (TM), listening to Scott and Steve — and their guests — dive in to each episode has been a treat. It has reminded me of just how much I love this show and how strongly it impacted me during my impressionable years. Keep up the great work guys!

Great Deep Dive into Star Trek
This is one of my favorite podcasts lately. The care and attention to detail is really well done. And nice job by the hosts on securing a really diverse group of guest co-hosts. Well done and I hope this continues well after the voyages of the original crew are over!

    Great way to revisit TOS!
I tried to rewatch The Original Series a few years back on streaming and sputtered out after hitting a few mediocre episodes. Then my brother got me started on this podcast and I’m totally into my TOS rewatch! This is like watching TOS with an amazing DVD commentary track! I really like how Scott and Steve pick up and tie together the different character threads through all the episodes and I also like how they examine how the series played into the social context the show came out in in the 60s. Steve give a great director/writer’s eye commentary that is so insightful and Scott just shines as the ultimate Star Trek fanboy! I’m grew up much more on TNG Trek but this podcast really elevated my appreciation for TOS!

    Must Lisren
If you are a Star Trek fan this podcast is essential. Scott and Steve bring a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to this show. While thay can get a little "gushy' about the good episodes, they do call out the bad episode too. Watch an episode and listen to their review. You will find out new info and fun BTS facts.

This is THE Star Trek podcast
Scott and Steve combine their love of Star Trek with a deep dive format that is professional quality. Add to that incredible guests, including original cast members, writers, and directors, and you have the best Star Trek podcast around.

    The best “Star Trek” podcast!!!
Scott Mantz and Steve Morris do an amazing job breaking down each episode of “Star Trek”. Things that you wouldn’t even think of knowing or learning, you will with this podcast. Scott Mantz brings in excellent and amazing information about the series and Steve Morris does an amazing job of breaking down the episodes by piece and they do an amazing job at it. They mesh so well together and it’s always a pleasure listening to them talk about “Star Trek”!!!

    Deep Diving
Just when you thought you really knew Trek, along comes this podcast to show you a whole new way of looking at TOS. Wonderful background on these episodes, fantastic guests, and thoughtful analysis (although “Metamorphosis” is a below-Average episode, sorry Scott). Well done!

    My guilty pleasure
I love listening to Scott and Steve talk about Star Trek the original series. It makes my favorite television show of all time (55 years old now) feel like brand new. This is from someone who has loved Star Trek since first seeing it during its original run. Both these guys love the original series and it’s very obvious, but not so much so they don’t recognize it’s faults. Scott knows every aspect of the show, behind and in front of the camera. Steve, a fan and film maker himself, casts a professional and loving eye on the series. Because of these two facts, each man can give an opinion and back it up with an intelligent argument. Even though the majority of the information they give are things that I am already aware of (yes I’m just as much a geek as they are. ) I love their banter. Makes me wish I was sitting there with them.

    Great TOS podcast!
Always something new to learn about a show that you thought you know so well. You can tell how much Scott and Steve love the original series. Their enthusiasm often makes me smile! Thank you both!

    Comfort food show
In this world of deadlines and drama with limited commute time this show transports you back to a simpler time. The integration between the hosts (stars) is what the show is all about. The Trek part is fun and informative, but like TOS it is the chemistry that matters. Also, you can tell Steve is a great teacher. I am going to miss them when they are done. So do yourself a favor and go slow to catch up so the experience can last.

Like Taking a Slingshot Ride Back to the 1960’s
Great show with plenty of details on the making of the most influential science fiction series in cinematic history. No other show has led more people into the pursuit of science in general, and space exploration in particular, including me. The hosts bring each episode to brilliant, technicolor life all over again, and inspired me to go back and re-watch the episodes, this time in production order. I have listened to new episodes as they came out since finding this about halfway into the first season. A bit sad that it is now the last episode of the Original Series, but have great confidence that Scott and Steve will continue Enterprise Incidents through other incarnations of Star Trek that will keep diving deeply! Adding to this now that Scott & Steve have moved on to The Animated Series. I do not remember watching this first run, not sure I even knew it was on. I had graduated high school in May of 1973 and working multiple jobs that Fall after missing the payment deadline for what would have been my first semester at the University of Houston (I eventually graduated from their Clear Lake campus). I am now watching them ahead of each podcast and find them much more enjoyable when paired with their deep dive. So far it has just been an over wire of the series followed by episode 1, but I have seen episode 2, Yesteryear, and looking forward to next Sunday’s deep dive on it. Many thanks to Scott & Steve for continuing the podcast after wrapping up The Original Series!

    I was sooo wrong!
For some reason, I always thought Star Trek was not for me. But seeing how much my partner loves it, I decided to give it a try, and recently started watching the original series, and I truly was incredibly wrong. This is amazing!!! And this podcast is just making my experience even better. The conversations between Scott and Steve are so deep and fun. I highly recommend Enterprise Incidents to anyone who loves Star Trek.
  • Gailwynand
    Great deep dive!
Just discovered this show as it was reaching its conclusion. I am listening to the podcast i production order. I learn new things about episodes I like as well as episodes I have never seen and want to see now. Would love to hear Scott and Steve talk about TNG or TOS cast movies.

    The indispensable STAR TREK pod
If you’re a fan of the original series—and if you’re not, it’s time for a tough look in the mirror—ENTERPRISE INCIDENTS will give you a new appreciation for an old treasure. Scott and Steve are fans who know the show, know the industry, know the art and craft of making cinema. Drop the needle anywhere in the library of pods and I guarantee you, you’ll be hooked.

New Perspectives on a Classic Series
I first encountered this show in the early 70’s in syndication at age 7, and while you would be forgiven for thinking I had exhausted all possible insights into it in the intervening decades this podcast disproves that assumption. Going in production order the hosts’ deep dives yield frequent pearls as they construct a continuity out of episodic happenstance. Frequent guests, many with direct ties to the show, add depth with first hand recollections of the trials and tribulations of the production of episodes. If you want to reignite your enthusiasm for TOS this is the place to start.

    required listening
i’ve listened to scott and steve’s podcast for the past year to catch-up to all the episodes they’ve published. i have learned more about star trek tos, a show that is near and dear to my heart, than i ever thought possible. like scott, i too grew-up in the philadelphia suburbs and watched star trek in syndication on WPHL. i am also nearly exactly his age, which creates an indescribable sense of simpatico relative to our shared experience with this show. the level of serious deep-diving each episode, including the feature films, is unparalleled by other similar podcasts. scott’s pure love and appreciation of the series comes shining thru at every turn and his knowledge of the various behind the scenes goings on is shocking. steve’s directorial point of view is a perfect complement insofar as steve is able to show us how the structure and execution of each episode either works or doesn’t work. steve brings a very insightful view of operational production reality into the mix, providing, at many points, technical explanations for various quirks, successes, and failures of various scenes and episodes. steve also records, edits, mixes, and produces each of these episodes superbly, especially in terms of audio quality, mixing soundtrak dubs, and pace. my understanding of the series has been transformed by this podcast in an incredibly meaningful way. and after all this, their special guests, including director ralph senensky, walter koenig, and others is all just fantastic icing on an already perfect cake. i highly recommend this podcast to anyone with a deep interest in star trek. keep up the great work, guys! you’re absolutely killing it. and yes, it’s truly a labor of love.

    Best Star Trek Podcast
I’ve been a fan of Star Trek since I was a kid and grew up watching TOS in syndication. But it wasn’t until coming across Enterprise Incidents that I began to appreciate what a terrific TV show this was. The hosts’ unique look at taking an episodic series and looking how the characters grow and the shows build upon each other is unique and fascinating. Well done gentlemen! Can’t wait for the deep dives into the cartoon series.

    Fantastic Podcast!
I have so enjoyed listening to Scott and Steve’s incredibly detailed, thoughtful, insightful, entertaining podcast about one of my all time favorite shows. My husband and I listen together and it is a wonderful bonding experience. The podcast has given me a deeper understanding and love for The Original Series, which I watched as a child when it originally aired, and in syndication while in college, and many times since on DVD and Blu-ray. I have once again fallen in love with TOS, thanks to this amazing podcast. The guests on the pod are also excellent, with Scott’s interview with William Shatner the crowning glory. Thanks, guys, for all your work!!! Love your podcast!

    Fantastic fan experience!
You guys are great! Not only have I learned a lot about my favorite TV show of all time (and I’ve seen all the episodes dozens of times, read all the books, etc.) but I learned about other great experiences like The West Wing Weekly (from Steve) and Star Trek Continues (from Scott) that have given me countless hours of enjoyment. Great guests like Ralph Senensky (national treasure!) really added to the experience. Looking forward to the animated series, movies and whatever else you guys decide to tackle. Keep it up!

    Amazing
To me Amazing is the word that best describes this podcast. Having listened my way through from the beginning I feel like I’ve taken a college course in Tv studies. I now watch a show I’ve loved from childhood with a more critical eye and so much more knowledge of the behind the scenes goings on.
