saralreviewsGreat Information!Visiting the park for the first time this summer. This podcast is a great way to learn more and has made me even more excited for the trip!
-
IWSAdmirerKeeping in touch with GlacierWe visited Glacier several years ago and want to return there again. This podcast is helping us not only keep up to date with the park, but to gain a deeper appreciation for why it is such an important place in the world.

RojoMesaThe Crown of National Park PodcastsI have listened to several National Park Podcasts produced by individual National Parks and this one surpasses them all. Each season unfolds creatively around a central theme - Confluence, Whitebark Pine, etc. These episodes are well-written, well-researched, well-produced, involving an impressive array of individuals involved in the Glacier NP story. As a listener, I have discovered a lot more about a place I love; I have also been stirred to caring about what is endangered to being lost. This is not only my favorite National Park Podcast; it is in my Top 10 of favorite podcasts of all time. I highly recommend Headwaters!

HarvyPlutoCaptivating & FascinatingGahd- can’t say enough good things about this podcast. For those who have been to glacier & those who want to visit- you will not want to miss this!

Essie_sunflowerI Wish Every Park Had a PodcastI am a lifelong desert dweller and though I have always admired photos of Glacier, it always felt distant and was never very high on my list of parks to visit. This podcast is so fascinating and exploded my perception of Glacier, and the entire region around it. Mixed with tales of the natural history in and around Glacier is park history and national history. I wish other parks had similar programs to immerse listeners in the stories of these places.

tartmeMy favoriteI look forward to the new season of this podcast every year. I have listened to every single episode Thank you.

Now UnsubscribedAfter the White Pine…Let’s get WOKEThe information and passion that showed through the White Pine season is lost on the rest of this podcast in season 3 particularly. It’s revisionist history of Lewis and Clark is shameful and heavily slanted towards an anti-capitalist ideal, emotionally based re-telling and insulting to the brave men and women who came across the land from the East. Many of those interviewed actually work for government agencies while spouting anti-American sentiments. Could have been as stunning as Glacier itself but yikes…real disappointment in a “nature” podcast.

Whitefish travelerWealth of informationI absolutely am addicted to this podcast. I started with season 1 just 2 weeks ago. Each episode is very well done and I learn something each time . I have shared it with several other GNP lovers.
-
hdgjmugcSecrets about the parkI love listening to these podcasts. They have stories about the park that are entertaining and also very informative. In the winter, listening to the podcast helps me feel the majesty of Glacier, and long to visit again in the summer
-
Bosco RioGreat Storytelling & PodcastI was looking for a podcast about Glacier National Park, but it’s storytelling is so much better than I ever expected. Even lacking a keen interest in the Park the podcast is a great listen in its own right. Kudos!
-
gabcroMakes me wanna be a rangerJust listened to episode 4 and was gripped from minute one. The story was insane and the story telling was fluid, intense, and emotional. It felt like you were in the room with them and gave me the strong desire to live in glacier and understand the connection to the land. Gaby is a great moderator and I look forward to the next one.

Alejandroe123Phenomenal story and fantastic story tellingKeep up the great work!

MrMusicMannnBest podcast - Best National ParkThe stories are great but the story telling is incredible. It’s honest yet romantic, genuine and casual but invigorating and intense. Who ever is behind the scenes organizing the structure and content of the narrations deserves an award. The sound production is also noteworthy. One of my fav podcasts.
-
Btown BillHighly recommended!Great story telling about an awe-inspiring place!
-
tallleprechaunDo other national parks have podcasts this good?I can’t say, but what I do know is that I’ll be listening to this podcast long after my trip to Glacier. This has been so fun to listen to driving to and around the park; it’s both more delightful and moving than I anticipated.
-

GeoreebIt just keeps getting better!I’ve really loved all seasons of this podcast: the stories are deep and meaningful, the narration is fun and poignant, and the people they choose to interview and places they choose to visit are so special. It gives listeners a new way to connect with the park—and with the world around them in general. I wish all parks could have a podcast like this! Also, I’m writing this review just three episodes into season three, and I have to say, I’m already in love with this season. Keep them coming, please!!
-
AZTontoFun, informative, importantThis is a terrific podcast with thoughtful content about an AWESOME place in our landscape. You will learn a lot. And enjoy yourself a bit too.

Becky LomaxExcellent breadth on Whitebark Pine episodesThe Season 2 series on Whitebark Pine covered so much intricate detail…from the web between the trees, bears, and Clark’s nutcrackers to the Indigenous importance of the pines. Great in-depth coverage and broad ways of thinking about the trees and their role in our world. Thank you for such a wonderful podcast.
-
MaureenvictoriaInformative storytelling with fun factsI stumbled upon this podcast recently and I’m so happy I did. I really enjoy the these stories about different areas of the park, I like that they interview people who were around for the events they are talking about. I like they include the indigenous people from the area to speak about meaning and traditions. It’s just a great storytelling podcast!

Dan LombardiGreat Show - a Natural FavoriteAs you'd expect from an amazing National Park, this podcast is great. Extremely high quality in sound, content, and craft, this show can sit alongside any made by NPR.
-
birdssszzzzzTwo thumbs upIf you love Glacier, or national parks, or really anything about nature, you’ll love this podcast. It’s such a great show that has gotten me to think about Glacier, public lands, and the natural world in new ways.

ecrampewish I could listen for the first time againI am someone who folds laundry in silence and spends 30 minutes just looking out a window while doing 👏🏽 absolutely 👏🏽 nothing 👏🏽 else. I don’t frequently listen to podcasts- only playing them while trying to stay awake driving or while working on a repetitive task. Now in saying that, I found it extremely difficult to not play Headwaters continuously and listen to a whole season in one sitting. Headwaters is beautifully crafted and produced, having a quality that I think is on par with podcasts created by NPR. I have worked at Glacier National Park for four years and have asked hundreds, if not thousands of people, why they chose to visit Glacier. This podcast provides such variety in its stories and its perspectives on northwestern Montana and its human history, intertwined ecosystems, and awe striking physical landscapes that it has me convinced that each of those one thousand people I have talked to would find a story that would resonate with them, allowing them to discover a deeper meaning and emotional response to their visit to the park. I am so proud of the team that put this podcast together. Even with one listen you can hear the amount of love, time, enthusiasm, and dedication that went into each episode. They explore this landscape in a way that has allowed for so many different disciplines to intersect, weaving together a story of Glacier that provides an avenue for others to feel a sense of place there while also creating a time capsule of what is understood about Glacier at this time. To be given the opportunity to get to know an area (that you may have not even visited) on such an intimate scale is such a gift. The depth and details of the stories provided bring to light emotional and physical ties to this region that would otherwise take decades to understand and discover. While listening to this podcast you can imagine the joy and the trials that have existed there for hundreds to millions of years. You can imagine how things have changed over that time period and what may continue to change in the future. But importantly, even if you’ve never been to Glacier and do not ever plan on going there, you are inspired to see the world around you in different ways. Places that you consider home come to light as you begin to think about the human and natural history that have combined to create that space you hold dear. Between the beautifully mixed score with that oh so amazing synth music coming through in Season Two and the emotionally charged stories - the variety of perspectives incorporated and the clear passion of the hosts, I give Headwaters 5 stars and I would over and over again if I could. Best laundry I ever folded.

Jabber wickednessEntertaining, Insightful, MotivatingLast December I booked my trip to Glacier without knowing anything about it, so I found this podcast. I was not expecting it to be so well produced. Each episode is masterfully crafted with interesting and informative stories that prepped me to look for certain critters and plants during my visitor to the park. My backpacking guide was impressed I knew so much and I even met some rangers who were voice actors in the episode. Highly recommend if you’re even slightly interested in the park!
-
Cayman2011Great podcast for anyone visiting the park.I have a nature loving nine year old who loves this podcast (as do I!). They are in the autism spectrum…and ever since their first trip to Glacier in 2021 have been hanging out for the new season. We must have listened to season one ten times. We’ll be back in Glacier later this summer…..hopefully we may even track down Gracie the Bark Ranger. Keep up the great podcast.
-
alljam8815Surprisingly Delightful!I’m not sure why I expected this to be a poorly made podcast, but I was happily surprised. It’s a very well produced podcast, the quality was as good as any NPR segment. Topic this season was surprisingly interesting as well. I’m really impressed and I hope there are many seasons to come. Thanks for all the work you guys do!
-
Ranger AlExtremely well producedHead Waters is excellently well produced, informative, and entertaining. Who would have thought it. I recommend this podcast to everyone no mater your interests. Thank you to the hosts and to the Glacier NP Conservancy for making it.

-
RyntitGlacier Headwaters podcastI have been visiting and living near GNP all of my life. I find this podcast such a GREAT addition to the realm of all that Glacier Park has to offer. Each program has been so informative and fun. Everyone who plans to visit Glacier Park should listen to all of the podcasts BEFORE they visit! Clark’s nutcrackers have been one of my favorite birds since my childhood. I hear their call and it triggers a smile across my face—always. As well, I have lamented the decline of whitebark pines thoughout Glacier and beyond. This 2nd year of the podcast that is devoted to Whitebark Pines is such an excellent idea. I look forward to more episodes and hope the podcast continues for years!
-
kari_cieszAmazing!Such a wonderfully produced and planned podcast!

codinamiBack to my vacation! This podcast brought me back all the memories built during my last vacation at Glacier National Park. It is the second best thing right after enjoying the breath taking Park in real life.
-
Mini golf funnnnSuch a fun, informational, helpful podcast!Stumbled across this podcast via the Glacier Instagram page. So happy I did - we are planning our first visit there in august and while we’ve done a lot of research, it’s still a bit overwhelming but Andrew and Michael give such a great overview of each of the pockets of the park from what to expect, culture, history, etc. that I feel so prepared and even more excited for our visit. With the background knowledge I’ve gained from this podcast, it certainly will bring a bigger sense of appreciation when we go in a few weeks. Thanks Andrew and Michael for great content!
-

Rebecca 876Surpassed my expectationsThis podcast is wonderful! When I read that park rangers made a podcast, I had pretty low expectations for the story telling and production. I was pleasantly surprised! The production quality is great, the hosts are so charming, and every episode makes me smile. I love learning about Glacier and hearing the human stories. Can’t wait to visit the park!
-
Bonnie9999Perfect Podcast!Loved this podcast! I hope they make many more episodes! (The guys need their own fan page! 🤣)

mrhollenderAfter my first visit I’m reliving the experienceThanks to the team working on this. I greatly appreciate the topic and discussions. I got a taste in the park and now I’m continuing my journey learning about Glacier. Can’t wait to visit again!

arherzogEducational and funLove the podcast and everything I’ve learned about the park through the stories they’ve shared. I especially loved the stories about bear control in the old days. This show has been a great way to “get away” during a year where we could go basically nowhere.
