I had the pleasure of being interviewed by JP a few months ago. When he first asked I was somewhat intimidated after reviewing the guest list of previous interviews. I felt like the Financial Planner in the Great American Teach-in who had to follow the Fireman who brought the truck to school. How wrong I was. JP’s show is always a fun ride because he has a great variety of guests that all love cars, but in each their own way. From museum curators, to classic collectors, to professional racers, and even fellow media members, JP always finds a unique story. The show greatly benefits from JP’s history in the industry, which leads to well-researched questions and interjections to keep guests engaged.

When I first heard this podcast, I was hooked. Learning all about enthusiasts from across the country, some I have heard of and some I have not. The stories told are interesting and relatable. Not to mention, this is also very well produced!

I thoroughly enjoy listening to JP’s podcasts. His guests range from automotive celebrities that we see on many of the TV shows to the everyday cruiser. JP’s first-hand knowledge of the hobby provides him with the background to ask the introspective and interesting questions that are fun to listen to. I enjoy listening to him when I workout or go for a walk. His podcast is the perfect companion! Bottom line… NO ONE tells it better than JP!!

JP has a very cleanly delivered interview format automotive podcast. The podcast might be newer, but JP is no stranger to the world of automotive and media, and you can tell.

Someone should really fact check quests before posting a podcast. Fake facts , ask Chip and Jessie about those years and you will get a totally different but accurate tale.

I don’t know a lot about old cars but a friend of mine recommended this podcast to me so I took a listen. I especially liked the episode with the GTO guy. He seemed down to earth and I enjoyed his story about how he got into GTOs. JP is a great host and does a great job of letting his guests tell their stories. I am looking forward to more episodes in the future.

Full disclosure before I write this... as the author of an upcoming book about the history of the muscle car era (The Age of the Muscle Car, McFarland Publishing) I’ve been interviewed for this podcast, and I wanted to get that out there in the interest of transparency... ...but regardless, and objectively speaking, this is a terrific podcast and I’ve truly enjoyed every episode. JP does exactly what his intro says he will do, which is to ride shotgun while the guests tell their story. JP does not make the show about him, but about his guests. His laid back, conversational style puts guests at ease and lets them tell their stories, and those stories from his various guests are enthralling to listen to, as well as very informative. I listen to a lot of podcasts, many of them automotive based, and this is, without exception, the best one to which I subscribe and could not recommend it more highly.

JP Emerson is more than just a storyteller. He highlights the individuals that make a community a home. Each episode is a brief escape into the life and mind of incredible people. JP weaves together a story in a way that makes you feel at home—like listening to your dad tell you a story while you gaze in awe of the tales of unique but familiar characters.
