    Mostly banter. Not much content
I wanted to like this but I listened to a 36 min episode and they just talked about random stuff for the first 14 mins. The hosts seem nice and funny but it’s the epitome of white woman, low effort, reading from a Wikipedia article podcast. Sorry.

    Awful
These two are just awful to listen to. Get to the point!!!

I wanted to like this so bad
I love outdoors/mystery/ true crime stories and thought ones specific to Appalachia would be fascinating. Unfortunately there is SO much pointless banter and interrupting each other it’s nearly impossible to get through any of their stories. It’s not uncommon for there to be 20+ minutes of banter in a 35-40 minute episode. I don’t mind listening to hosts chat… in fact, most podcasts have a few minutes of chatting at the beginning, but this one is just insanely excessive.

    Mountain girls
I found this podcast a few months back and I am now caught up on all the episodes. I love it! I love Holly and Hailey! I think we could be friends! Keep bringing the stories and the girl talk.

    Good.
I've listened to this podcast a bit more and I actually really enjoy it. It's definitely grown on me and I keep coming back for new episodes.

    The Biltmore Estate ….
This episode is extremely pathetic - they really should not even try if they cannot even read the script. And for the record, eggs are NOT dairy.

overall terrible, rude and no proper research just chit chat and theories this doesn’t need to be a podcast sadly

It’s like listening to a 3rd grade book report.
Except my third grader does better research and is more prepared. This show is so unprofessional, incorrect, and insensitive. Don't waste your time supporting this.

Do not do episodes without speaking with the families of the dead.
The amount of trauma and pain you cause is indescribable. The suffering of my family shouldn’t be used for profit.

Hi! I love the podcast. I just had a few thoughts I would like to share. This is such a heartbreaking story to hear. I pray that this child is found safe & healthy. I am in Virginia so not to awfully far from South Carolina. This story just saddens me because as children we look to our parents to be our protectors. Not people we need to be protected from. I understand that this mother was possibly not familiar with how things go in the U.S however, she was a mother & I think most would agree that, that language is pretty universal. I, as the mother of a 34 year old couldn’t imagine NOT reaching out for help if my adult child was missing much less my 11 year old child. I apologize but I just CANNOT wrap my head around this logic or lack there of on her part. With all of the turmoil in this world, we have got to do better! I am praying for this little girl & her safe return. I look forward to hearing future podcasts as well as any updates on this case. Take care! Thank you for what you do. 😊

    Great podcast
I recently found this podcast and have been enjoying listening. I am a fan of true crime and I find it interesting to hear the stories and the research that has been done. Also, the hosts are easy to listen to and just light-hearted enough to ease the terror of these true stories.

    Unprofessional and Unprepared
Unprofessional and unprepared podcasters. When discussing sexual assault and murder cases it’s not ideal to joke around and laugh repeatedly. It’s also appalling how much speculation and, “well, I don’t really know…but this probably happened” was mentioned. They made up random theories every other minute. I had to turn the episode off because I was so disgusted.

    Unfortunately couldn’t get through it
The one host was eating a banana and the sound was so cringe I couldn’t get through to the actual story. They seem to have good subjects but seem very unprofessional.

    Y’all are hilarious.
I moved away from the mountains a year ago and homesickness originally led me to this podcast. But I stay because you two are hilarious 😹 I can’t stop laughing sometimes. You’re both also super informative and it’s obvious you’ve researched your topics well. Thank you for the (nearly) endless entertainment.

    Boring
Too hard to listen to. They stumble through the podcast. Not well done.

    Not prepard
They don't appear to have prepard for the shoq and seem to not have a good grasp of the material they are covering.

    Amazing!
My favorite podcast! I love true crime but sometimes they can be tough to listen to, but these girls make it easy by adding humor in. These two make it feel like I’m hanging out with friends! Thank you for sharing these stories ladies!!

    One of my favorites
I really like this podcast. I follow several, but when I see a new podcast from Haley and Holly, I jump them to the front of the line. I love the subject matter, but I also love how they interact with each other. It kinda trips me out that they are such different ages, but gel so well together.

    Talking
These two talk more about there selfs then the actual story. Don’t waste your time with this podcast.

    Down to earth!
These ladies make a lot of these stories easier to digest because they insert some fun into this podcast! They always bring great stories and I look forward to each new episode.

    Non subject matter
To much non subject matter talk, and to many political pun’s.

    Y’all are great
I LOVE these two ladies!I’m right across the mountain in East Tennessee and I have to say I just can’t get enough of this podcast. Keep the episodes coming Hailey and Holly! Mountain folk unite 👩🏼‍🌾

    Narrator voice
The younger of the two narrators has a horrible vocal fry, nasal voice and doesn’t add anything to the podcast besides bored and disrespectful remarks and interjections. So distracting from valid research and the story. I could not listen to a full episode because of this. Please do better! These are real people who are missing or harmed. SMH

    Waste of time
Let me say I was really hoping to love this podcast, unfortunately that didn’t happen. Way too much chit chat and really not much of a story. Very disappointed. You shouldn’t make rude comments about places you’ve never visited. Also, I believe anyone could google the information you tell. And for the love of God- Go Mart is a regional gas station franchise. Get it together!
  • M E McQ
    Conversational TC pod
I like the hosts’ report, the topic selection, and that they are respectful of the victims without dwelling or saying the same thing over and over. It isn’t researched to the minutia of cases like other podcasts i listen to but when i want to revel in the wonder and curiosity of cases this is the podcast to listen to. And they’re shorter too. It feels like you’re talking with friends.
  • Afi5Girl
    Not researched and just lame
I listed to the podcast on Moundsville Penitentiary. First, probably disrespectful to say you’d never been to WV, but “nothing is there.” Second…all of this “information” was the basic info you could get on this place from the most common websites. At least on this episode, the research was just lazy. You shouldn’t even have bothered.
  • Valmet81
    Too much small talk
Couldn’t even get into an episode- waaaay too much back and forth chit chat. I’m always hesitant when a podcast I’m interested in has multiple hosts, this is why.
  • Roxyandpigsmom
    Great podcast!!
I’m from Ga & have binged listened & can’t wait for more!!!

Don't listen if you're actually from Appalachia
I listened for a dozen or so episodes, was a fan for a bit and even suggested this show to others. I then noticed a trend of derogatory remarks and tones towards many of the rural "backwoods" people in the stories. The use of a southern accent (by Holly) to mimic people thought to be ignorant/unintelligent was the deciding factor for me. I'll be "tayykin" my subscription elsewhere. For anyone looking for a better alternative, I suggest Appalachian Mysteria.

I can’t believe how uneducated these women are
Let me start by saying that the hosts’ use of the word y’all in no way shows their lack of intelligence nearly as much as their lack of knowledge in the subject matter they are covering. I am a “podcast addict “ and there is only one pod that I have encountered that is as monotonous and lacking intellect as this one. I actually hate to leave such a negative review but I’m hoping to save someone else wasting 30 precious minutes of pod time in this conglomeration. Try to do better
  • Ylaci d
    Could be better
The show has potential if the hosts didn’t spend 15 minutes of the 30 minute show (hot springs murder episode) talking about their personal lives. Seriously, half the show. Cut down on the chit chat.
  • guitarpicker61
    Love it.
I was raised in the mountains of Southwest Virginia and am familiar with many of your stories. I love your research and presentation. Well done. Keep it coming.
  • bdksvdh
    Longer stories
Love the stories, would like more of them and less basic chatting. Also, maybe be a little more respectful of laughing at situations. Especially not at stories where people have vanished, these are real people with families who are probably still mourning.
  • lace1031
    Yes!!!
Love y’all and the stories you tell
