    Highly recommended
Just adore this podcast- it engages with Magic in a relevant way while also creating space for unique conversations, voices, and creative ideas. I was getting tired of keeping up with Magic podcasts that were hyper specific on new releases and the way Lucky Paper Radio engages with this stuff is a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend this for any Magic player— not just cube folks.

    Amazing insights for cube!
    Great stuff, as always, gentlemen.

    Great Cube Analysis
Great cube analysis and suggestions to make your cube better.

Good but suffers from being an echo chamber
Great to have a regular podcast focused on cube, the best MTG format. The podcast is mostly very good, but the two hosts could greatly benefit from incorporating more outsider opinions. They come from the same play group that clearly values a specific style of play and specific colors to the detriment of balanced cube environments. This is reflected in the dynamics of the show as well: one host (Andy) continually steamrolls the other host (Alex) and seems genuinely uninterested in hearing how other people enjoy to play the game. Take any advice from this show with a grain of sand, unless you are specifically interested in creating cube environments where some flavor of WR agro is the only viable archetype

Cube Content from a Game Design Perspective
This is my favorite podcast because: they cover my favorite format in an open minded and analytical way; they sprinkle jokes through the intro, editing, and natural conversation; and it’s free of ads and Patreon plugging.

    Great Show
Would listen to the hosts describe paint drying or the dialects of kitchen utensils, instead I gladly listen to them talk about Magic the Gathering and design theory.

    Top tier MTG Cube content
Absolutely love the consistent Cube design content these guys put out. They bring together lots of interesting ideas and other cube curators to help me think differently about my designs. If you don’t know what Cube is in the Magic community, no better place to start than here.

    Excellent cube content
A long time designer, I’ve just started listening to LPR, though I’ve followed the development of their tools and surveys for a bit. Great commentary and flow, thoughtful discussions!

    These guys rock!!
A couple of really funny down to earth fellas who love magic the gathering almost as much as they love democracy!! Every week I look forward to jamming this podcast while hosing down my truck, blasting cigs, and drinking Miller lite.

A must listen for all things cube!
A highly recommended cast where the host express their passion for all things cube. Whether your new to MTG cube or an experienced curator there is always something to learn or take away. Fun, informative, and well recorded episodes on the regular. Happy Cubing!

    The best cube podcast
Incredibly informative discussion on all things cube. Andy and Anthony are intentionally inclusive about how broad the spectrum of what constitutes a cube can be and discuss topics and give insight that can benefit the curator or cube player interested in everything from retail draft power level cubes all the way up to the highest power level of cubes.

    Great!
Thanks for you hard work on this podcast! I love cube and this is the best cube podcast. Your articles on your website are great too!

    Excellent
I heard about this from Guardian Project podcast and was hooked after one episode. Now I’m building my own cube and listening to all back episodes. Very well produced, funny and insightful.

    Compassionately Informative
The Lucky Paper crew do an incredible job discussing Magic in an entertaining and educational way. I especially enjoy their deep dives into specific topics (land counts, removal texture). I cannot recommend the show enough if you seek information about cube curation or just some positive and reasonable voices talking Magic in thoughtful and purposeful ways.

    Best Cube Podcast Ever
I’ve been designing cubes since 2010 and this is the best cube podcast I’ve ever heard. There have been many episodes where I end up thinking about my cubes, and cube draft in general, in a totally new way. It has really helped me to expand my horizons in cube design. Thanks Andy and Anthony for everything you do!

    Annoying and unhelpful
Like a lot of mtg podcasts, this is another one that doesn’t say the name of the card enough during analysis. (Uses “this card” instead). During a drive you forget which card they are talking about - not only because of that but keeping track of the mental detours is too much. Not enough focused dialogue. Too many detours. 1 of 2 talk too fast. Filled with classic modern day corporate speech patterns- instead of natural conversation. I often drifted away from their conversation the same way you would in a boring meeting. I think they can do way better but its free so who cares.

    What more could you want?
The surrealism at the beginning of each episode feels like a Willy Wonka-esque descent into madness, and somehow it truly primes my brain for an hour of magic discussion. Five stars, no notes.
  • Lutherboy
    Favorite podcast!
My absolute favorite podcast, not just magic. Hosts are incredibly funny and have great rapport with one another. Both have an incredibly welcoming and comforting energy to them. Super knowledgeable about both the game and format. One of the few podcasts I’ve ever gone back through and listened to old episodes of :)
  • Willx7
    Favorite MtG podcast
The only podcast I’ve discovered and gone back to listen through every episode, lucky paper has two insightful hosts who love to talk about game design and how it applies to magic. In addition, I’ve never heard a wider range of hilarious cold opens, or politically aware ones, in any podcast, let alone one about magic. Worth it for that alone.

    Terrific Content
Thoughtful analysis, brilliant and wise perspectives. This is the MtG podcast I’ve always wanted.

    Look no further
There are a lot of cube podcasts out there, but LPR tops them all. Charismatic hosts, broad content focused on inclusivity and a ton of well-researched information. Consistently releases every Monday, and always interesting to see what topic will show up next.
  • LMA55409
    Fun and informative
Smart passionate people putting thought and planning behind discussions and analysis of one of my favorite hobbies. Though I’m friends with other cube curators IRL this remains a critical and consistent outlet for me to think about cube design and be challenged.

    Best MTG Content
You’re not going to find two people with smarter discussions about MTG cube design on the internet. Even when I’m not actively updating my cube I listen to this show to be in the company of brilliant minds and wonderful human beings. Spend some time with them and enjoy yourself!
  • SketchySam
    Great cube podcast
Andy and Anthony have put together a high quality Cube centric podcast even manages to occasionally dive deep into cube crafting theory but never takes it self to seriously. They always sound like they’re having fun and I always enjoy listening to them.
  • dimensive
    Easy 5 stars
Knowledgeable, kindhearted hosts, with a great perspective on curating custom cube formats. I look forward to the new episodes each week.

    What a waste
If you think human life matters, this podcast is not for you. Should be about cube, but instead these two have made it about politics. A real shame.

    Awesome
Huge fan of the show. These guys are super passionate and thought provoking, must listen for anyone interested in cube on any level. Definitely check out the writing and streaming these guys do as well.
  • Mucho Mango
    Best MtG podcast
As a more recent cube convert, no podcast has better solidified my interest and answered any and all questions with eager enthusiasm. The hosts are approachable, thoughtful, and smart people who have put a lot into the cube community. Their summaries of each set (including the mammoth MH2 episode) take into consideration more than any other cube podcast. Andy and Anthony provide multiple perspectives as well with their different power levels of cube. Clearly great friends who respect all the different ways of playing magic.
  • Somefish254
    Great!
Great hooks for the intro and stingers for the end. Focused, strong discussion with relevant tangents like food. A relatively unexplored space (deep dives on cube design/play) that is only briefly touched upon by other Magic podcasts. Do note that the 2020-2021 episodes are highly focused on cube. If they ever delve into full “just two people talking” territory, I’d listen to that too. Flat Power Level is a good entry episode. The first few podcasts episodes are a good place to start as well. Episodes I enjoy for entrenched players are Making of the Degenerate Micro Cube and their interview episodes.
  • Smnyc89
One of the best out there
Truly a great asset for a fledgling cube designer like myself or any invested magic player. I listen regularly and find so much fun tech and inspiration each time. Thanks for putting out such great content during such strenuous times!
  • Murkeltoni
    Great content
Love the cube discussions, they really get into the big questions about drafting and make it understandable.
  • Forrest716
    Amazing Podcast
I haven’t been able to play near as much magic during the pandemic, but it is nice to get to connect to one of my favorite games through your witty dialog and helpful insight. I curate a couple of cubes, a three color which you both have influenced, and a triple micro cube that you inspired with one of your recent episodes. I would love to talk to y’all about it.
  • airpower220
This is the MTG limited podcast you should be listening to!
Andy and Anthony offer some great discourse on limited Magic, specializing in the Cube format. Production value and sound quality is high and provides for great listening. Unique intros for each episode are a real delight. The co-hosts reach out to the Cube community, conducting a pick 1 - pack 1 from user submitted cubes each episode. They additionally provide great insight to the Cube community through their publishing of a set analysis for each release containing testing and interest data from the broader community which can be found at lucky paper.co. If you like Magic: The Gathering, limited play, and Cube design...this is the podcast for you!
  • boongarington
When I can’t play magic, this is the next best thing.
Great production value and good vibes.

    I like this cube podcast.
Good thoughts about magic cards. Just anything.
  • Bbbdj
    Much appreciated podcast
You guys rock! This podcast is fun, well produced, and just enjoyable. I love the big topic discussions, and the boldness to talk about topics in magic that most people in the magic community would ignore or push aside. The creativity and genuine friendship combined with the super intelligent conversations. Gets me so excited to listen every Monday at work.
  • P.L. LaMascus
    Mandatory magic listening
Too often, Magic Cube is depicted as a monolith where there is a “correct” way to design or curate. Andy and Anthony do a masterful job of injecting context and nuance into Cube discussion, so this is truly a podcast for Cube aficionados of any stripe. Cuber will find no other podcast that as effortlessly blends good humor with cutting-edge theory (and occasional recipes).
  • harryplinkett
    Great cube content
A pair of guys who are passionate about limited and the exploration of cube drafting. I look forward to this cast every week. Keep up the good work!!

    What a refreshing listen!
Was excited to find a new Cube-centric podcast that’s approachable, interesting and also professionally done without being TOO slick. Really good so far, I’m going to be sticking with this one. Anthony and Andy have some really thoughtful takes on Cube design and Magic in general.

    A great light hearted escape
These two guy are a great way to unwind and decompress from the stress if every day life. They provide a humorous look at magic in a slightly higher capacity that other magic-related comedy podcasts.

    The Best
These guys know Magic. Lucky Paper’s commitment to the game of Magic and to cube discourse is unparalleled. These first few episodes are great and I can’t wait to hear more. If you love Magic you will definitely want to hear what these dudes have to say.
