this was my comfort podcast since 2022, always had it on yet they let politics take over. Have yet to have one episode this year that doesn’t have politics involved sadly stopped listening it was over whelming

But it’s only if you share their same opinions and beliefs. And that is a form of discrimination. And people having to have identification for voting is common sense. If not then people can vote under any name they want and then in turn come back around and vote under another name. That’s voter fraud. And it’s against the law. I mean if you have certain charges you can’t vote, now that’s voter suppression! Bc if you’re a legitimate voter and you are living in this country legally or are a citizen you should be able to vote. And fyi I’m from one of the states that had dead people voting. Not ok. It doesn’t matter who or what they voted for. I’m so tired of people trying to shove their narrative down my ear canal. I have certain values that I will never change and you two probably think that I’m a backwards thinking person. Not so, I just have my views and you guys have yours. You know what they say, everyone has one. I hope you guys continue to grow and raise your beautiful children and have continued success in the future.

I was really getting into this podcast and recommended it to friends. I felt like I found people I could relate to and I was enjoying it. Then they started pulling politics into it. Yup, voted for Trump and I’m proud of it. Their message is clear: if you’re not a democrat, you can’t sit with them. Politics never had to come into this podcast and when it did, there was no grace or recognition that FIFTY PERCENT of the country might disagree. This podcast was sort of a safe space for me but not anymore. You guys blew it.

I stopped listening for a year for no other reason than I was working on myself. This podcast really helped me to learn so much about who I am, especially during a time of transition, and got me to the point where I was able and willing to take the leap I needed for my mental health. My first episode back was about the apothecary which is crazy how the universe ties everything together because I just finished reading “The lost apothecary” (read it!). I love that you two are my besties in my ears! The way you interact with one another really reminds me of me and my besties jumping from topic to topic deep in thought, crying, laughing till we pee our pants, have the best time together. Just a bunch of Chill, deep, thoughtful, silly gooses all at once! I love you both so much and have missed hearing your voices! I’m glad to be back.

This is such a great podcast that really helps break down incredibly complex situation in a really easy to understand way that opens dialogue in my personal life. The most recent episode they said they get complaints that they “make everything political” and apologized but I would like to push back on that because everything IS political. What we are allowed to do in all of our lives, what products and services are available to us, and how much they cost, all determined by politics. Politics is law and the law determines everything in our lives. It only helps those in power control us by us not thinking and talking about politics.

I heard your section on the Halloween special. Your dads sound Awesome! I’d love to share some of my dads wisdom about Halloween but it only involves movies. Dad nor grandpa told us scary stories but introduced me to.. The Blob at AGE 4. Yes I’m still bitter. I sat in the front part of a movie theatre close to emergency exist till adulthood because of that movie. Having a active alcoholic father does have advantages, like encouraging mischief. Sometimes your FOUR SCARED out of your mind and scarred for life from The Blob. Either way, my dad gave us a interesting upbringing. 💙

This has been my favorite podcast for the last 2-3 years and I look forward to new episodes every week. I love that the topics change all the time and they always find something cool to talk about, whether it’s silly or serious it’s always very interesting and as someone with ADHD I love a good tangent. This podcast has helped me through a lot and I hope it can do that for others as well!

These ladies have been literal life savers, besties, aunties, and support for myself and many others in times of need. I had the pleasure of meeting them and they are truly angels, the sweetest human beings you could ever be around. If you ever need a comfort podcast; that is not only hysterical, educational at times, and provides such a variety of content-this is a MUST listen! I love to listen to these ladies. On good days and bad days but especially on a bad day. They never fail to make me laugh. Even on serious episodes, they still tangent on the funny stuff. I didn’t know I needed this until I found it. As a 34 yo mom, who’s a little untraditional, these are my ppl. I don’t have to agree with every lil opinion to love them and this podcast. I love this podcast, it feels so natural while listening. I listen on my way to work and at work! I’ve cried and laughed listening to these two. They talk about fun things but also can have those serious conversations. They also make it a point to continue bettering themselves and educating themselves and listeners on things that aren’t talked about enough! I’ve learned so much from them. I’m only 20 and have been listening for years and I think some of the topics they’ve discussed have saved me from harmful events that a lot of young people go through.

Literally my favorite podcast. They go over a wide range of topics while being funny, silly, and respectful when they’re discussing harder topics. It feels like your just hanging out with your besties. Also their Patreon is great and I recommend joining!

I have listened to you ladies since debut. I remember when I first started listening; I was on such a rough spot with family and school, all I wanted was a place that I could escape to and get away from all the insanity that was my life. You ladies offered that on a golden pedestal! Every week there was a new topic that wasn’t so uptight that it felt like another thing I “had to keep up with” but it also had significance in the real world. Throughout several years of uncertainty, you two were one of the few constants I had. Jeri, you talking about therapy and sharing what advice you had been given for those of us not as fortunate to have the opportunity was such a pushing factor for me, it was my motivation to get into therapy myself. I have since been with a different therapist and she often asks me where I get a lot of my personal maturity from (as I am a younger person) I have many times referenced you two as being my guides in a sense. I have loved seeing you both grow along with the pod and I can’t wait to hopefully see you in person next time you go on tour!!

Updated 2024: I took a break from the show in 2022 because I needed to do some work on me after I felt hurt by a couple themes. I contacted L&T directly and Ciara wrote me a v kind email in return, which she in NO WAY had to do. Now over a year and half later, I have come back to this cozy little corner of the internet, finding myself welcomed in with how the show and the ladies have grown over this time as well. All this to say, the show continues to challenge the way I consider things alongside some true pee your pants humorous moments. Thank you J & C for continuing to share parts of yourself and being vulnerable. Your efforts mean so much to so many. 2021: This show is a bright spot in my week, the ladies feel like my two besties hanging out on Friday night after a hard week. This show has yet to not make me gigglesnort in each episode, especially in the heavier topic ones. Life isn’t all sunshine & daisies but Ciara and Jeri are the ones to remind us that rainbows can come with rain. Tangents is in the title so if you don’t like chatty podcasts, it’s not for you! For me, all of the tangents hit my brain’s sweet spot and helps me feel less alone in my own mental health journey && I’m a LICENSED THERAPIST. Also, the personal is political and Jeri and Ciara take realistic views of this, owning when mistakes are made and consistently working to be better community members. And if you’re not highly invested in Ciara and Cory’s wedding as well as Jeri and Shane’s pop punk band future, what are you even doing?! That’s the that on an AWESOME PODCAST

I’ve been a listener since the beginning before yall took off. I have ALWAYS love you ladies and I ALWAYS will. I’m so proud of how far this podcast has come and how much the ladies have grown. This will always always always be my favorite podcast ever. The ladies are just as nice in person. But not as tall as you’d expect 😂 I love them so much and if you’re debating on listening. Take this as your sign to 100% binge every episode. It will make you laugh and it will make you cry.

I was never big into podcasts. They always felt like a seminar or like eavesdropping on a conversation you weren’t apart of. But late 2020, I found L&T and have been listening ever since. It feels more like older sisters who ride with you to work or school than a radio show from the early 2000s. They have been with me through breakups, deployment, mental health struggles, retiring from the Army, and now college. Even at times when I felt like I had no one to turn to, they were always there. You’ll laugh till you cry, you’ll cry till you laugh. They have truly touched the lives of so many people and I am grateful that I’ve seen them grow so much over the past three years. I will recommend this podcast to anyone and everyone. Especially people who need someone to bully their mental health into cooperating.

I am so late to the party.. I started listening to L&T nearly a year ago, and started from the beginning. I’ve fallen in love with this podcast and feel like I know these beautiful women! The title to my review is in reference to the 200th episode, which I am currently watching. Someone reviewed that this was not a safe space because it is too “woke”, which says more about them than it does these ladies. I’m here to say, as a Christian, this is STILL a safe space, because I’m not a bigot 🤷🏼‍♀️ If you feel attacked, you need to check yourself and your morals. Stop weaponizing your religion and using it as an excuse to be racist/sexist/homophobic etc. I am grateful for women who tell the truth with no shame. This podcast is all of the things.. it’s honest, it’s funny, it’s emotional.. you will literally go on a rollercoaster (in the best way) You ladies opening up about loss helped me so much after I miscarried RIGHT BEFORE I STARTED LISTENING. It was such perfect timing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🥲 Sorry for the book, but I just felt inclined to jump on here and tell the truth about you. I fell in love with this podcast as soon as I listened to the first episode, I binged the first two years worth of episodes in a month I believe!!! Yes the format has changed and evolved from the beginning and I miss some of the old topics, but listening to them is literally like having your best friends over and just taking about life! I’m not the most social of butterfly’s, so it is so nice to have a podcast like this out there that truly feels like hanging out with your best friends. Those who complain about the going odd topic don’t seem to understand the “tangents” part of the name. I’m ADHD as HECK so they’re right up my alley! I’m hoping to one day soon be able to join the patron and hopefully see them live🤞🏼Jeri and Ciara are truly two of my favorite podcasters. You ladies are my actual favorite - you make laundry and dishes doable honestly. I cleaned for an extra like hour listening just because I didn’t want to turn it off lol. Seriously. Only negative right now is that for some reason when I play this in my car, the volume levels go up and down and I get so tired of turning my volume up and down, so I can only listen in headphones. I came here to say I have listened since the first episode! I truly have. I don’t know if I have just grown a different way, or what but I have found a change in interest and the tangents just aren’t tangenting enough for me. 😐 What I mean to say is the episodes have little context to me, or I guess I’m not understanding the context. It’s seems to be filled with more filler, than a tangent on a certain subject they pick (yes I know they’ve said they don’t discuss one or a certain topic) but that’s what I enjoyed! We’ve just grown apart. And I wish nothing but the best for myself and it’s taking a toll on my mental health to hear the things said about other people or their thoughts on society anymore. And I know they don’t care or seem to say they don’t but the fact of it is, it’s just not for me anymore. 💔

Honestly every episode of this show is hilarious. I find myself laughing out loud while walking, working, driving, etc by myself all the time. A lot of their topics and options i resonate with. Thank you ladies for being open, honest and real with us always.

I love this podcast so much. I’ve been lucky and have had some great things in life that have really changed my life around, but this podcast has helped me get through so much. It helps me laugh when I feel like I can’t, it helps me feel like a real person when I’m so lost and it helps me realize I’m not alone with my struggles.
