Typically banter between hosts is a turn off for me but this group keeps it directed toward the content of the episode and it’s very entertaining as well as informative.

I love everything about this show. Great host dynamics, love the way they take you through their discovery process. Good fun.

Charming hosts who tackle topics I’ve often never heard of or thought about. Excellent audio quality. Great pacing.

The next episode they will get around to making is going to be called “Underunderstood investigates what happened to underunderstood!”

Is “Billy” playing a character or is he really that painfully stupid?

Half of the episodes are amazing, half of them are honestly quite boring and don’t always appear to even follow the theme of solving an internet mystery. I’ve noticed that more lately, for example with the Big Ideas and Even if it’s Fake episodes. What is the point? It’s basically just 45 minutes of them talking amongst each other… But some of the episodes are hilarious, informative, and entertaining! Oh and please bring the season one introduction back!!!

I love the niche mysteries they solve on Underunderstood! It’s a perfect show for people who like to think a bit too hard about the strange and seemingly frivolous questions in life. I’m so glad they’re going weekly now. I can’t recommend this show enough!

The cast all sound fun, the stories are weird and wonderful and none of the episodes drag on. They’re great

This show has filled the void left by the implosion of “Reply All” and it’s new garbage woke agenda. Fun, lighthearted tech stories that you never knew were even mysteries. Thankfully without the constant crybaby narrative of Emmanuel and the gimlet SJW’s. Keep up the good work, very entertaining!

Podcasts have exploded in popularity, and the vast majority of podcasts are terrible. Obnoxious celebs hosts, tons of commercials, etc etc This is the opposite of all this. Yes, the subjects are pretty silly. But the hosts do their research, and their enthusiasm often ends up being totally contagious. Don't understand why this pod isn't way more popular..!

I see these reviews that compare this podcast to 'Reply All' but in actuality it isn't anything like it. Reply All at its core is a human interest podcast about human interactions through the medium of technology. The central focus of 'Underunderstood' is not stories of people, but rather the investigation and expalantion of obscure things, it's literally in the name. If you want to name a podcast its actually similar to, that would be 'Every Little Thing' That said, I have to apologize to Billy who told us himself he reads these, looking for that 2* justification. Sorry, I listened from the start until the trivial pursuit episode, but didn't really love any of them and felt a few of them were kinda boring and longer than they needed to be. You guys clearly put a lot of research into it but at the end of the day this is entertainment and I didn't find it very entertaining.

A nice podcast about delving into weird internet mysteries. A great alternative if you're missing the tone of older Reply All.

Light-hearted stories investigating minor internet mysteries. Host banter that grows on you until you feel like they’re your friends. Reminds me of old-school Reply All.

I love how varied the topics are. For a podcast with 4 hosts, I’m pleased that they don’t get lost in irrelevant tangents. The quality is top-notch and the humor witty and on-point.

This is right on par with the greatest episodes of Every Little Thing. One of my favorites no doubt.

Compact & bingeable—the listening is so easy that you might not notice how much work must go into every episode. But that’s why this show is so good. The hosts are true journalists that go the extra mile to investigate & answer the “ungoogleable.” Premises that sound as light as air, like “who writes the jokes on Laffy Taffy wrappers?” lead to moving stories that hit harder than expected. And all in 30 minutes?? That’s no easy task to execute—kudos to the whole team that produces, writes, and edits this thing.

Underunderstood is the podcast that asks the questions even Google doesn’t know exist. More importantly, The find the answers. Life saving? No. Earth shattering? No. Interesting? Very much so. Listen and join their Patreon dammit. We need to encourage this type of behavior.

Underunderstood is awesome. How could anyone rate it “meh”? They’re funny, smart and all around fun to listen to. I can’t wait for new episodes to come out and I always learn so much, no matter the topic. So glad I found this podcast. Spread the word!

After Reply All officially exploded I was looking for an alternative. This is it, albeit without Super Tech Support. A show with great hosts that are spectacular investigators and covering internet culture.

I have so much to say about this podcast—it is so freaking good that I’m at a loss as to how to do it justice! Great topics, great voices, just enough production. One thing that’s cool is that it would be great to use in a journalism course to teach students how to do research in a fun way. And I must know: why was Adrienne’s phone in a Faraday cage?!!

If you were a big Fan of another podcast that rhymes with 2 Ply Ball that recently ended then I was highly recommend transitioning to Under under stood. Love the wittyness and how professionally they take their research.

Fun, smart, educational, funny. It’s so good to listen to people get to the bottom of ungoogle-able problems. Everything I could want out of a podcast.

This podcast should be much more popular than it is. They do deep investigations of quirky mysteries that can’t be solved by searching the internet. Very well produced and always enjoyable to listen to.

Brilliantly researched, extremely professional, and to me every bit as good and engaging as Reply All, Endless Thread, or Every Little Thing. More people need to know! I’ll spread the word as best I can. Great job, y’all.

Found this because of decoder. This is the most pointless podcast in the BEST way! If you go down random Wikipedia rabbit holes, you’ll adore this! It’s Reply-All-esque but hopefully without the super racially problematic hosts 😓

This got recommended as something Reply All listeners might like, and it turns out that it does have that blend of silliness and mystery solving that makes Reply All so fun. I started with the first episode and am now making my way through the current season.

I saw someone recommend this podcast on the Reply All subreddit and I couldn’t be happier about following up on that recommendation. Similar in the way that they solve very niche internet mysteries and lots of witty banter between the hosts. Great, unique listen!

As a fan of Reply All and Mystery Show, I was eager to find another podcast that reports on mysteries that even baffle the internet. I look forward to every episode and aside from the great content I really appreciate the chemistry between the four hosts. Detailed show notes allows the listener to fall down the internet rabbit holes in real time as they’re listening. Everyone should listen to this podcast.

The throne of low-stakes internet mysteries, bafflingly vacated by Reply All, has been claimed by Under Understood. They dive deep to answer questions that you never knew you absolutely needed to know. The hosts have good chemistry and I enjoy the round robin format of a different host walking the others through the mystery of the week. They exhaust all possible sources, both on and offline and put together a great show. Bravo.

I can’t remember the last time I laughed as much as during the animatronic vegetable episode. The randomness factor keeps me interested!!

I feel so many of these hyper-specific mystery podcasts end up having to stop due to cost/effort for such niche topics, but it’s my absolute favorite podcast genre and this one is the best right next to Mystery Show (RIP)
