Hey there! We are Teresa McKee and Melissa Sims, your hosts of A Mindful Moment. Our podcast is here to help you practice a more mindful life and enjoy the many benefits of mindfulness! At a time when change is constant and we are pulled in too many directions, our mental health needs some love. We need a way to stay present to life and to increase our ability to remain calm, think clearly and maintain our well-being. We chat with each other about our failures and successes in mindfulness, we interview experts and authors in the field of mental health, and also guide you through some wonderful meditations. Mindfulness improves our mental, emotional and physical health, so we hope you give it a shot! The podcast hosts are a mother-daughter duo - Teresa has a master’s degree in psychology, is a certified mindfulness meditation facilitator, a transformation coach and the CEO of Work2Live Well. Melissa is a yoga teacher, a transformation coach, and the Program Director for Work2Live Well. We've been delivering new episodes weekly since 2019, and hope you come along the journey with us! Mindfulness
I really enjoy Teresa’s outlook and strategies she uses for cultivating a positive mindset, as well as her meditation practices. In times of confusion and anxiety she really breaks down the steps to take to change the way I look at situations.

    Enjoy meditations
My counselor recommended doing medications so I found mindful moments to help me do that. Teresa’s voice is so calming… don’t like the loud ads though.

    Nice
I enjoyed this short meditation very much. I didn’t watch I listened on my phone. I picked this one out of the list as I am a beginner. Nice and sweet. Looking forward to the next one

    No thank you liberal views
I wanted to listen to this podcast but I just can’t. The flawed liberal views is nauseating. The climate goes through normal changes throughout time. It’s natural. And your gun violence logic is awful. You can pass a million gun laws and all you’ll do is make crime worse. Repeat this: criminals do not follow the laws. The reason over 93% of so called “mass shootings” are in gun free zones is because criminals no law abiding citizens won’t be armed. They’re easy targets. Look at England, they banned guns and what happened, knife crime skyrocketed. If a criminal sees houses, 1 with a fun free zone sign and 1 with a 2nd amendment sign, 100 out of 100 times, they’ll break into the gun free one. Disarming law abiding citizens does not protect law abiding citizens

    Great podcast - however
This podcast is a great listen. However, sometimes the hosts’ stories are not relatable and ruin the episode.

    Great podcast!
Really great podcast. Thank you so much for creating this that allows us to learn so much about mindfulness and health. I’m a big fan and listen to every episode as soon as it’s posted.

    Obnoxious ads ruin “Mindful Moment”
Seriously, not one minute intro the latest podcast a blaring ad interrupted my mindful moment. And of all things, for a podcast focusing on mental health it was an ad for the Colorado lottery. As I read through previous reviews, this comment has come up numerous times in the past.It would be my hope that at some point the host would take notice. When she does, I’ll be back.

Pretty Good But Needs Something Done!
Very good, soothing and calming! Only this is the ads, when she is talking or doing whatever a big 30 sec ad pops up and it loud and annoying so it annoying but we got to deal with it because that’s how she makes money

    Enjoyment
I have never been a meditator but I enjoy listening to the mindful moment. I have discovered I am practicing mindfulness. This relaxes me and eases tension.

Where have you been my entire life?! 😄
Love this podcast! I keep coming back to re-listen. It’s also has a calming effect on me while driving the chaotic & stressful drive from Baltimore to DC.

    Commercials
I like this podcast and find the content informative but the ads are disturbing. They are loud and totally out of sync for a peaceful mindful mood. Men’s PD??! Seriously?!! Another, awhile back I believe, was auto repair. It was also loud and distracting from what is supposed to be calming. I think I’m going to give this podcast up.

    Keep Coming Back!
I keep coming back to this podcast. I really appreciate the open-minded discussions. She has some great guests on here too! Really loved the Jill Bolte-Taylor interview. I saw a few recent reviews about the ads, but it is kind of a necessity in the business to keep it going. Not sure about the reviews about checking privilege though...I didn't get that at all. Obviously some of the negative reviews are people that could use a bit more mindfulness...ha!

    Pass
Listening to this person rant off their frustrations for 10 minutes just stresses me out. How is this helping anyone?
  • mlo_bean
Check your privilege. This is not for the people.
Great for comfortable under-informed middle upper class white white feminists who call themselves woke. Everyone else steer clear unless you want a superficial and dated understanding of mindfulness.

    Ads Take Away From Content
I loved this podcast for the content, soothing sounds and voice, and the overall feeling I had after listening. Unfortunately, very loud and tacky ads are now being placed at the beginning, middle and end. I understand it’s probably to keep the podcast going, but it takes away from everything I loved about it.

    Uhhh
    Covid obsessed. Oh California
  • LynnMichaels14
    More Frustrating than Mindful
The constant Covid talk. The politics. The “now exhale through your mouth for a count of…” while you’re either already exhaling, or holding your breath while she drags on… Not relaxing or interesting.
  • It's All Gooey and Sticky
    Great work
Her voice is soothing. I appreciate the meditation at the end. Too much politics toward the end.
  • erin12338
    Too much Covid
Love the mindfulness aspect of this podcast but way too much Covid talk. I listen to podcasts to escape the climate we live I’m not to listen to someone push Covid and their own beliefs on me.
  • VinVinLadyBug
    Very Helpful
I’ve been listening to one every weekday morning as part of my morning routine. Everyday this podcast helps me to think and be more mindful in my daily actions.

    What?
What is this woman talking about? Very unhelpful and frustrating to listen to for someone with depression.

    Great show!
I enjoy each and every one of Teresa’s episodes. Great interviews and I learn something every time. Thank you Teresa!
  • Edziainsf
    Love it
Very soothing, great insights and reminders! Thank you!!!
  • Ed-Prof
    Keep politics out of it
Seems like the host has a political agenda in implying who to vote for. Why not keep the blame game out of this? It definitely doesn’t set a relaxing or soothing tone.
  • Matt Zinman
    Awesome Show
If there’s one thing I can say about Teresa, it’s that she makes the most of her time doing the short-form interview. I think every aspect of our conversation delivered value, which makes me feel great in being able to make a positive impact for her and her audience.

    Comparing to the FLU!
Don’t panic episode is just so wrong!
  • Utahjoey
Not your source for COVID-19 Info!!!
This review is in reference to the recent episodes on Coronavirus, especially the “No Need to Panic” episode. Maybe this has been a great podcast for mindfulness, but much of the advice she gives in these episodes is exactly the opposite of what to do. Teresa needs to stay in her lane. Of course, don’t panic. And don’t horde. And definitely don’t use the pandemic as an opportunity to make a profit at others’ expense. But other than those bits of advice, this is irresponsible in many ways. I will try not to judge you, Teresa, for your bad advice, but STAY IN YOUR LANE!!! THIS IS NOT THE FLU!! I will not be taking your advice on disaster preparedness, and no one else should either.
  • DoktorDro
    Thank you, Teresa!
In this time of crisis and panic and uncertainty, today’s podcast “ADJUSTMENTS” really helped to center me and bring me peace. It felt good to envelop that sense of love and peace with the closing meditation. Thank you so much. It was a much needed moment to just stop and breathe. I cannot thank you enough!
  • rosallea
    Wonderfully crafted
What a welcome blessing of well articulated and practical wisdom, a portal to healthy ways to progress mindfully and gently through life and self. A great threshold to begin the process. Many gratitudes !! Yet also slices through how easily we slide into biases and should be’s and other ideas imposed through media and even good intended teachers, we need to question the foundations of beliefs and have the courage to be skeptical and discerning
  • ahappycyclist
    Engaging
I love listening to these mindful gems, because it encourages us to think about how our behaviors affect others and how our own thinking can either help or impede us. The topics presented are thought provoking and refreshing.
  • MahaIcon
    Useful!
A great tool for battling life’s everyday little struggles. I’d recommend this!
