Ry&SumBest Spiritual Podcast I’ve foundI love the format of this. I love the sort of shotgun approach. It keeps my attention and keeps it from being dry. I love that it also opens doors to deeper subjects in more concentrated areas of study. This is such an approachable way to get into heavier theology but also keep it light. I especially appreciate the ecumenical approach that Tom has. I love that he emphasizes unity above personal freedom. I think it’s a very timely message and he is very sweet and sincere in his methodology and speaking. This is maybe saying too much about myself, but it has been very refreshing to have a masculine presence that feels so gentle, thoughtful, and tender.

pvrksieN.T. Wright: a necessityThank you for sharing your wisdom with the world!
-
CcstxA breath of fresh airIt is really a blessing to listen to this podcast. NT Wright really has a lot to offer through his study of the Bible, years of human experience, and his life as a Christian. I also appreciate the format and Mike Bird’s contribution.

jglairdWhat a blessing!I don’t always agree, but I’m always challenged. Always uplifting!

Patrick2081Great AdditionMichael Bird is a great addition to the show! Although, Justine provided a nice Teacher/Student dynamic (Wright humorously correcting his Latin), Dr. Bird adds clarity to the matter instead of confusion! He is quite the scholar and affirms Dr. Wright’s trajectory. These scholars are the top tier of academia and we are blessed to have them!

spicedparrotWho is this new host?I tune in to hear NT Wrights wisdom- not the host. Justin was great but this new guy talks way too much. It’s enough to keep me from listening going forward.

LeahpwnzorsKnowledge and comfortI have been binging the show and you gentlemen have encouraged me and motivated me to dive deeper into scripture. I’d like to say that the sound of both your voices are soothing to me and I regularly play an episode to fall asleep by. I’m currently sick and was feeling really terrible last night. I found a book narrated by NT Wright and downloaded it so I could listen through the night. Thank you for sharing knowledge and wisdom and for doing so in a gentle way. I’m still challenged by new ideas, but I find I’m not offended, because they are presented with such kindness.

Sierra Hotel WhiskeyExemplaryThere are some incredibly gifted theologians who can move between the academic and general audience worlds with great aplomb. Wright is such, and he can shed brilliant light upon difficult subjects in a scholarly manner for consumption by the standard operational, average believer such as I.
-
Dr Paul WhiteStraightforward, Challenging & No Simple AnswersI’m not a theologian nor philosopher but a Boomer American follower of Jesus trying to make sense of my evangelical upbringing with the challenges of life today. I appreciate Reverend Wright addressing difficult and important topics — typically giving food for thought and input from various perspectives.

Reading Inc.A NT Wright anythingDelightful and insightful!!

AnonymousReviewer_13Most brilliant NT mind of our eraN.T. Wright is by far the most intelligent man on the New Testament in our era. The dude can give you context that you didn’t even know was there. Just an unbelievable podcast with an unbelievable teacher. The 4 stars instead of 5 comes because I genuinely am annoyed with the 2 minute ad breaks in the middle. I have to stop what I’m doing to fast forward because it feels like they never end. Other than that, I love it!

DocmyronA master teacherNT Wright is a scholar who presents his knowledge and wisdom in a simple way that most people can understand and learn. I’ve read most of Wright’s books and these podcasts amplify his knowledge for non-readers especially. Thanks for faithfulness.

WrenFlightVery Inspired and ThoroughI have learned so much about the meaning of scripture through the extensive knowledge of Tom Wright. There are always a few questions about verses that seem as though they could go either way. Tom helps clarify these often difficult and confusing topics. Justin Brierley helps select the questions with his own knowledge and experience to help make a well balanced show and allow Tom time to dig deeper into the subject. I absolutely love how personable this show is and feel as if I’m sitting on their sofa joining in on the conversation.

DaveAttawayNT WrightOver the last couple of years, I have become a HUGE fan of Dr. Wright!! I have learned so much from him about the Scriptures and have grown closer to God through his podcasts and videos. Thank you for sharing these with us!
-
Turkeyb0yGood thoughtful showVery good listen, but they stopped putting out new shows about a year ago and they’ve all been repeats since then. I do enjoy the variety of questions and expertise and insight given to them all. Wish the show would come back
-
blueskybroHelpful and EncouragingWhat a podcast! Anyone of any faith who is seeking well-reasoned and insightful responses to theological, pastoral, and overall thought-provoking questions would do well to give this a listen. I profess to be a Christian and have found hearing NT Wright’s thoughts to be very helpful.
-
NicBillmanProfound and accessible podcastThis podcast is one of my go to’s. I am a missionary in Brazil and have read many of Tom’s books. This podcast can be listened to independently of his books but it makes an ever better companion for those who have read or are reading any of Tom’s books.
-
PzapersonA trustworthy resourceI’ve been making my way through all of the past episodes on my commute and sometimes wish I had a longer drive. Dr Wright has helped me understand scripture at a much deeper level. Even when I disagree with him, I find myself understanding countering positions much better than before.

J Gaffney USASuperb access to N T WrightThese interviews have led to continue research and reading from NT Wright. His knowledge and rational approach to scripture in modern living, have been very helpful as I look for answers to help conservative Christians who feel bound to theology that is bringing them extreme, anxiety and depression.
-
grapjuiceloverVaccine episodeWell that aged well. How are all those vaccine side affects treating you. My friend had a heart attack randomly after getting the jab. Perhaps don’t jump to a conclusion that involves real science. Vaccine safety takes years to develop not months.
-
sngr4evrN.T. Is a gemI love hearing NT Wiright’s thoughts and insights on culture and faith and how to make sense of it all. He doesn’t shy away from tough theological questions. My only complaint is Justin Brierley is a bit too eager to interrupt NT or even finish his sentences for him if there is the slightest pause. Justin should just sit back and let NT be NT a little more.
-
gabeybarberTough few episodesI have greatly enjoyed this podcast in the past and am so grateful for Dr. Wright and his work. However, there were some difficult episodes at the end of last year with a guest cohost (Justin Bass?) that were very frustrating to listen to. I have not heard Justin or Dr. Wright address this ever since his appearance, nor did they push back when he was on the show. I still appreciate Dr. Wright, but this has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.
-
Her_Royal_MajestyExcellent!!!I am so thankful for this podcast, and Tom and Justin. I am learning so much. I have had questions for so long, and am finally hearing proper scholarship and getting answers to those questions. I recommend the podcast to everyone. Thank you for this ministry!!

Deetyxzs657Check this out!!Amazing podcast! Also love the Jude 3 Project podcast. Learning so much on my walk with Christ. Thank you 😊
-
CredincosOne of the VERY bestThis podcast is, in my opinion, one of the top 3 Christian podcasts. Tom Wright’s thoughtful and compelling analyses and teaching is uplifting and edifying. His very clear exposition of Biblical truths, and long-held untruths (e.g. the pernicious influence of Platonic ideas) is refreshing. I recommend this podcast strongly.
-
FranceneedingmusicFascinating and encouragingReally appreciate NTW’s considered point of view. Many times I find here a sort of Christian bridge between the old and new worlds, both in the geographical (Europe-America) sense and the chronological (1st century-21st century) sense. To Justin and Tom, thanks for the great work!
-
brandonhorstToo many ads!I have learned a ton from this show and really matured my faith. But recently, the show has added more and more ads to the point where it feels like I’m forwarding through 10 minutes of ads to get to 10 minutes of content. And then lately, they’ve had this young American Trump supporter on, which is just as bad as the ads. I just want to listen to smart British Bible guy talk about smart British Bible things! I feel like this podcast is doing it’s very best to get in the way of that.
-
MatthewP20We need more Justin BassI love the dynamic between Tom and Justin Bass. In a day where certain ideologies are corrupting the minds of our youth and turning them away from God, it’s vital that the church boldly speak the truth. Justin Bass’s bravery complements Tom’s gentleness and prompts him to say what needs to be said. Some people won’t like this, but Jesus and Paul weren’t afraid of offending people and neither should we.
-
saperloReally like Justin BassI’m really enjoying contributions from Justin Bass. He has significant insight and always articulates difficult topics very well. I’m really enjoying what he is saying and his courage in saying it. He and NT Wright are a good combination because they have different styles and therefore the (up till now) very English academic style is made more accessible to those who don't come from this background. I see several people reacting negatively to Justin in the reviews but when you read what they say, you can see it's class and cultural issue; these people are often cultural elitists who react to vernacular speaking in the same negative and even hostile way. The elites have occupied and controlled religion forever (see the gospels. They would be offended by John the Baptist or by Peter the fisherman) so please don’t remove a voice because it is foreign to those refined sensibilities.
-
m_c_haleJustin Bass is grossIt’s good to be proud of your country? Seek raw power through the govt? Transgender fear mongering? Jesus doesn’t chase down those who are deconstructing? I’m disappointed that Wright and Brierly didn’t push back on any of these points.
-
Preacher's MandolinJustin Bass? Why?How does his smugness enhance the conversation?
-
ersmamaRecent GuestI usually love listening to this show but the recent episodes with Justin bass include a less wise and understanding point of view than Tom provides. I also think that quite a few people listening may also be deconstructing (but not necessarily leaving the faith) and I didn’t appreciate that Justin Bass referred to it as deconversion instead of deconstruction. It made me feel judged and not understood as I usually feel encouraged after listening to Tom.
-
Faithful Listener in MissouriWonderful Podcast (but today was icky)Generally I love N.T. Wright and his podcast. Allowing Justin Bass on his show was most unpleasant. Please show more wisdom in choosing American theologians on your show. There are many who could have handled those issues with such more care and concern, especially for our LGBT brothers and sisters who have been deeply hurt by the church. He doesn’t seem to grasp why people might be deconstructing or questioning their faith. It’s not because they don’t love Jesus, it’s often from church hurt. I’m disappointed in today’s episode. 😔
-
TravDAmanDisappointed by recent guestI have listened to this podcast for quite a while and generally find that NT Wright has a well balanced approach to applying his vast theological and historical knowledge to current events and cultural issues. I was very disappointed however by the recent guest who was unabashed in his support for Donald Trump. I could imagine someone saying they had voted for him but now see that he is a danger to American democracy given what followed the 2020 election, but to claim that he was a better choice than Biden with no reservation—in 2022!—is something I would have thought a follower of Jesus would at least think twice about. I hope they will consider getting a counter point to that perspective like Pete Enns, Diana Butler Bass, Esau McCaulley or one like them.
-
Jonathan the MethodistWinsome wisdom from Tom but spare us Justin Bass’ political commentaryI have learned so much from Tom Wright about the Bible over the years, and these podcasts are wonderful opportunities to keep on learning. The pro-Trump political commentary from Justin Bass is a huge distraction in recent episodes; I hope this does not continue. Would love to hear Richard Hays as a conversation partner in the future.
-
Jaron MyersLess Justin BassI’ve been a fan of the show for years, but letting Justin Bass repeat Matt Walsh talking points is beneath the intelligence and wisdom of Tom and the show.
-
ZbcueenFar right Christian viewsDevout and sincere Biblical perspectives opposing the far right were absolutely not consulted nor reflected. Only a thoroughly convinced Trumper was allowed voice, minimally moderated my NT Wright. As a former fundamentalist USA devout Bible believer who seeks fully informed (science, history and politics) honest discussion of current US religious life, this discussion was gravely misleading and brings sorrow to my prayers and hopes. Big fan of NT Wright in general otherwise.
-
MDPDT720Good, but not led by WrightThis is one of my favorite podcasts. My only gripe is the fact that it seems Justin (the host) picks questions, especially very recently, that fit the scope and schema in which he wants his ministry to fit. Most of us listening to a podcast with NT Wright probably aren’t looking for mostly apologetics. I’d love more deep dives into theology balanced with the recent focus on purely apologetics.

Jmop1895Rethinking My FaithI was one of the only 12 year olds who loved attending confirmation classes each week. I soaked up the details of the liturgical calendar, the meanings behind the rituals, and learning the fundamentals of being an Episcopalian. And then I got distracted in college, bouncing in and out of my faith walk for a few decades, but never losing my core beliefs. A year ago, God tugged at my heart. Actually, He came hollering at me me through what CS Lewis calls God’s megaphone. So I began searching. That’s when I found this podcast and the Anglican Catholic Church. Bishop Wright is so enlightening. His wisdom, insight, and gracious explanations have been instrumental in getting me excited again about my faith and building a closer relationship with God. The podcast is like a primer on the tenets of Christianity. Every two weeks, I’m back in class devouring information on my faith. Thank you for being a trusted and honest resource in my growth.

Sir_West_LStay in your laneListened to the Q&A about whether or not to follow the vaccine mandate. Was horrified to hear him say mandating vaccines was like mandating seat belts. What?! The vaccines have not been through the usual 10 year trials and they have no idea the long term effects. How can he compare that to putting a strap on the outside of your body? Please stick to biblical topics and let us make our own health care decisions.
-
health coach LindaExcellent and relevant resourceI love this podcast and have it playing regularly with my two small kids in tow! I find so much thoughtful and respectful wisdom given that I try and tuck away for future conversations; i find that it is not only WHAT Dr Tom says, but HOW he says it, so wonderfully respectful, and enagaging. I find that I have more confidence for how i might engage and discuss things with my children someday, as they grow and age in this somewhat tumultuous time, because of this podcast and the topics covered. Thank you Justin and Dr Tom for ministering to us in such a timely and available way! - Linda Benson, Colorado Springs, CO
