I’ve been listening since the BR days and continue to during my workday. I work as a biohazard, infectious waste technician in hospitals in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, which is about two hours north of Chicago. I will say for crocs I see a lot of nurses wear them every day because they’re are easy to wash if they get God knows what on them.

This pod is absolutely killer. Amazing analysis, great commentary, wonderful guests. These lads know how to do it. Big shout out to the community they have built. You cannot find a better group of footy hooligans

Where’s Sam, mate?

Sam and Jack always bring fantastic tactical insight and obscure football knowledge, making this a great listen. Especially love when they get into deep tactical breakdowns and dive deep into lesser known players and leagues. On the other hand, it feels like Dean is not carrying his weight with respect to the other lads. Doesn’t really seem to provide much real transfer news nowadays, and his knowledge of world football is poor compared to Sam and Jack. This has become especially clear in recent weeks where Dean has been in charge of rankings. He’s been spewing nonsensical takes, saying stuff like Trent should never have been a right-back or Lukaku was an absolute flop at United. Think the podcast would be much improved if they replaced him with another tactical guru or someone with better transfer connections.

As a long time listener of Ranks FC, I can say with confidence that between the Wednesday episodes and the weekly postbox and spotlight on Patreon, Ranks FC is the only football podcast you will ever need. Jack, Sam and Dean brilliantly cover everything you could ever want in modern football with enough football intelligence and entertaining chemistry between them to make every episode worth a listen. Each of the hosts bring a unique style and expertise to the pod that makes it work so well. Jack can have you falling in love with an obscure third division club you hadn’t heard of 30 minutes prior, Sam provides absolutely brilliant tactical analysis that you can spout off to your friends to sound smarter than you are, and Dean offers amazing transfer information as well as his both invaluable and hilarious ability to cut through the bull***t and just call it how it is. Ranks FC is truly the most comprehensive and entertaining football podcast around and I would recommend it to anyone.

This podcast reminds me of the show Only Murders in the Building. The chemistry among Jack, Dean and Sam is fantastic. Jack is obviously Martin Short - a bundle of crazy energy and prone to going on tangents. Sam is Steve Martin - tall, blonde and pretty knowledgeable. And then Dean exudes Selena vibes - sometimes wondering what he’s doing with these two. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

Sam and Dean were the first two football journalists I started following after making the wretched decision to become a Spurs supporter in my early teens back in South Africa. I’ve now hopped across the ocean to the US and continue to listen to and love all they have to say. Sam reminds me of a best friend back home: tall, clever, a tad awkward and never a step away from an injury. Despite some dodgy opinions about Chicago-style pizza, I can’t help but love everything else that Dean has to say, especially the genuine and repeated moments of total surprise when it’s revealed just how much of the beautiful game that the other two watch. It took me a while to get on board with Jack. I used to skip over what he has to say, but have slowly come to realize that that was a great silliness. Poems and things he loves, I listen to all Jack has to say. Even if Dortmund do manage to break it, my ever-lasting adoration for Jack is firmly in the bag. Ranks FC are the thing I love every week.

Sam Tighe’s title of Rank God is as deserved a title as it is a daunting one as he takes on new challenging rankings every week and gets them (mostly) right Jack Collins is a pandora’s box of a football knowledge always chock full of facts, insight, and most of all words. Ask him the time and he’ll tell you how to build a watch Dean Jones, lord of melons and warden of transfers is the lovable and relatable 3rd member of team Ranks. My wife has a real problem staying awake on long road trips. Her frequent suggestion of “Why don’t you put on that soccer podcast that you like?” is the sign that she’s ready for a nap. We both end up happy. I get to catch up on the soccer chat and she’s fast asleep. Great podcast for the whole family.

What a football podcast this is, as the three of Jack, Sam and Dean form the best front 3 in the world when it comes to making sure their audience is informed and entertained. The balance these 3 provide for each other is unlike any other podcast I have listened to and they all have their time to shine. Jack gives you the narratives and stories that make this game so emotional and so beautiful. Sam gives you the tactics and breakdown that just make everything so understandable to someone like me who doesn’t have years of watching experience to quantify. Dean gives you everything from the business side of the game regarding transfers which shows how each of them bring something different to the table and make each other shine. I remember listening to the first episode on Bleacher report years ago and knowing these are guys I need to listen to. In keeping with the style of the pod, I'm going to rank the top 3 things I love about this podcast. The first aspect is the evident love our 3 hosts have for what they do and for one another. Jack, Dean, and Sam are all extremely passionate about the sport and all in different ways that celebrate who they are and how they enjoy football. From Jack's love love of niche storylines and everything "good vibes", to Sam's passion for restoring some order to the chaos; and whatever it is that Dean likes. I mean seriously, who even is that guy? In all seriousness (Lampardian Transition), the way different opinions are shared such that they represent not only their own personal take but also that of their listeners keeps me looking forward to my Wednesday morning commute. With these 3 you get the full spectrum of football coverage. Speaking of, the second thing I love about this Pod is the wide array of topics covered. Naturally, the premier league and big headline stories from the top 5 leagues take most of the lime light on the main midweek episodes. However, unlike any other football podcast I've listened to, they branch out to lesser known and definitely lesser spoken about leagues, players, and stories that you didn't know you wanted to hear about. And trust me, you do want to to hear about it. This wide array of football discourse is kept neatly organized in an easy to follow ranking that is always fun to debate after the fact. I cannot begin to count how many conversations I've had with my mates as a direct result of this podcast. And for that I will take the opportunity to thank you 3. This brings me to the third thing I love about this podcast; the gibberish. No, I don't mean their discussion of how good or bad a captain Harry Maguire is at Man United, I mean the ranking of whatever gibberish is on their mind that week. My life would be measurably worse if it weren't for these delightful short rankings that have punctuated the weekly pod since the early BR days. Thanks to the gibberish I know how to properly use my oven (Thanks, Sam), I have avoided getting into an argument with my girlfriend for months by simply admitting she’s right (Thanks, Dean), and I discovered Sam Fender's Seventeen Going Under, which quickly became my most listened to album last year (Thanks, Jack). To Sam’s well-spoken/researched rankings, and constant spells of food poisoning. And finally, for Dean’s love of trips to LAFC, and the magic of Craven Cottage. Stumbled across these guys a few years back and have been listening ever since. It’s so refreshing to hear football expertise on so many different leagues instead of just one, and as a newer fan to football, this pod has been a great resource for me to get acclimated and understand it all. Came to be aware of Ranks in the lasers days of their BR stay via Sam’s appearances on the Total Soccer Show. Found the banter between the three entertaining and the format fun and different. I love the simplicity of ranking things within football as a means of further discussion and the gibberish ranking and “things I love” are super down to earth and relatable. They offer a nice breather from the constant football discussion. Anyway, you’ll be entertained and informed and really… what more would you ask for?!

jack is an idiot whose coverage of the usmnt is so mineblowingly stupid or blatantly propagandistic that all i care about is giving one star reviews to all his projects. MLS is garbage. When Jack eventually leaves I’ll revisit this review.

You guys have been my #1 pod for soccer since my first listen and have remained so ever since. In fact, my friends and I enjoyed listening to your pod so much, we thought we’d give it a try oursleves. So, a few months ago, we started a twitter, blog and podcast called “Footy Banter”, and have been having an absolute blast every week hopping on our weekly zoom call, having a beer or two, and chatting about the beautiful game. Hands down the dorkiest soccer (football) nerds in the entire galaxy — not sure about there knowledge beyond leagues in the Milky Way. I never thought I’d have any insight into the 3rd division in Latvia but Jack is always able to snuff out those gems. To be fair, I don’t always go back and research the lads so Jack might just be blowing smoke but I’m here for it. Not only have they brought insight to some FIFA career mode gems but they also give me the ability to tell my friends “ahh yes Zabarnyi signed for Bournemouth? Well I’ve known about him for nearly two years now thanks to a Ranks FC pod.” But really Wednesdays are a joy and I look forward to each and every pod to bring knowledge, insight, and banter. Keep it up. You’re missing out if you aren’t listening.

Absolutely love their chemistry great knowledge and as a Portuguese American living in Chicago they just so happen to be the perfect podcast for me with their soft spot for Portuguese soccer and respect for American soccer. Great podcast genuinely the only content I pay Patreon to have more of.

I’ve been listening to Ranks since their days at Bleacher Report, and am an avid weekly listener. I’m also subscribed to Patreon which unlocks 2 more episodes per week. It’s worth every penny. I really admire the hard work and effort these three have put in to their craft, and it really shows with the quality of all the episodes. Jack is one of the best storytellers in the business, Sam should be on staff at your favorite football club with the tactical insight and analysis he brings, and Dean is never wrong when it comes to transfer business. Stop following random transfer accounts and Fabrizio Romano and just follow Dean Jones. He typically calls deals out months in advance and is very well connected in England. Or even better, sign up for the Patreon and ask him your transfer questions yourself! These guys are kind enough to answer their followers questions, dm’s, and listen to the cheers and jeers of the amazing community they’ve built. Hello ranks squad, After hearing Dean’s desperate pleas for more reviews, I decided it was time to do my due diligence and submit a review of the wonderful Ranks FC podcast. First and foremost, while it is fresh in my mind, I would like to thank you lads for hosting a YouTube live stream for a transfer deadline day. I really enjoyed the interactive component, and you all even answered some of my questions/comments. I would love more of these interactive YouTube sessions, if possible. Also, I was blown away by the recent Bilbao documentary. I could tell that there was a plethora of diligent labor and conscientious interaction involved in its creation. The overarching familial narrative was well portrayed. Oh boy, would I have loved to see Jack bamboozled and disoriented while lost in the streets of Bilbao. Nothing digs into a man’s ego quite like the feeling of way-finding helplessness. I also greatly appreciate how active all three of you are on Twitter. It really supplies loving listeners like myself with some supplementary Ranks FC sustenance to keep us satiated until the next podcast. All the best & keep up the outstanding content, Nico

By far my favorite football/soccer podcast out there. I’ve been a listener since the BR days and made the jump to Patreon as soon as they started up too (if you’re not supporting these guys on Patreon, what are you doing?). You get the best of all the worlds when it comes to football analysis. Transfers during the windows, tactical analysis throughout the season, and my personal favorite… NARRATIVE FC! Dean, Sam, and Jack are truly the best and offer so many different points of view on the game. As much as I love watching the premier league, my favorite part about the pod is getting my ball knowledge up about the rest of the world of football. These guys really deliver when it comes to getting a better understanding of the world of football. As a Sporting CP fan, I always enjoy the little bits of love we get whenever one of our players gets an in depth spotlight, or whenever these guys even talk about the Portuguese league general.
