    Mark Overton
Thanks Donna, Mark and the Saxquest crew. I learned so much in this episode that I know I’m going to have to go back and listen several more times in preparation for part 2 (please). My favorite EP interview was Walt Weiskopf. His balancing of professionalism and pragmatism, artistry and method, seriousness and self deprecation, is a like a musical therapy session. Thanks again!

    Chase Huna w Donna❣️

    Max Ionata is awesome!
Thank you for your email interview podcast with Max Ionata. I was unfamiliar with his music until I listened to this podcast. I love his playing!! I have been listening to his album “Like” on repeat since I listened to the podcast. I am going to listen to his first interview now. Thank you for introducing me to his great music. I really enjoy your podcast - 10 out of 5 stars!! :-)

Very interesting and a well informed host.
Who knew we needed another saxophone podcast? Donna is a great host who is very well informed and hip for someone who is young, well informed, smart, and passionate. Her interview with Demsey regarding the Michael Brecker Notebook publication was fascinating, even in audio. I’m looking forward to watching the video version, next.

    Heard #47 Scott Robinson
WOW!!!!!!! As a listener for the last year and a half; I never heard of Scott Robinson! The album call TENORMORE was mentioned and I was blown out of my mind with the first song (spoiler to keep you all on your feet but it’s a Beatles cover) and it’s amazing!!! This Tenor centered multi-instrumentalist also shown his knowledge on that the Bass saxophones came first and then went smaller to what we have now! Keep up with the great work Donna!!!!!

Best of the Best Saxophone podcasts
If you play the sax or are are at all interested in the saxophone you must-must-must listen to these podcasts. every episode is jampacked with stories, tips, and different points of view from so many different artists and other movers and shakers in the music industry. I think the best part is how Donna drills down with very deep questions, asking each guest to expand fully on certain points that they make during the conversations. It really helps the developing musician have a better connection to and understanding of the music and horn. And totally worthwhile to become a supporter on Patreon to because you get extra content that way!

    Alexa Tarantino
Donna—thanks for a terrific conversation with Alexa Tarantino, clearly a sensitive and astute person. It is a testament to our music education system that Alexa can trace her solid foundational skills back to her General Music classes. I plan to forward her solfege videos along with a link to your podcast to my music teacher friends! Amazing!

    Kim Cypher
Donna, I absolutely loved this episode with Kim Cypher. She is an amazing player as I listen to her most recent album. Her answers to your questions were very good. I love that she didn’t get a music WD degree and went the teacher Ed route initially instead. She then taught music at school again without a music degree. This meant she taught herself the majority of what she knows today. I respect this much more than the traditional oath of music performance degree to doctorate path that so many players are on now in school. She learned the business the hard way and no doubt this has made her a better musician. Love the podcast Donna keep up the great work.

    Best. Saxophone. Podcast.
This podcast is the best saxophone podcast out there. Donna Schwarts and Nick Mainella both ask thoughtful questions, which keeps the interviews focused and loaded with useful information. This podcast has something here for everyone that plays saxophone. Do you have problems with your tone? listen to the Ben Britton and Harvey Pattel interviews. Do you need inspiration? listen to the Greg Fishman interviews. Want to learn more about the business side of music and how to make it in the music world? Listen to the Darren Rahn interview. Need help with teaching or how to improve on specific areas like altissimo and overtones? Listen to Dan Gelok. Want to learn about new gear? Listen to the interviews with manufacturers, such as Pauline Eveno of Shape Your Sound, George Reeder of Rovner Products, Rulon Brown of Key Leaves, or John Mackey of ReedJuvinate, or Jody Espina of Jody Jazz. I am constantly finding new things to explore and listen to the podcasts multiple times. Many thanks, Donna and Nick, for providing this valuable service to our community. I am most appreciative of what you do.

The sound on some of the guests is very difficult to hear but ones that are clear are amazing!! Thank you.

    Steve Goodson
The 2 interviews with Steve are pure GOLD. I could listen to more. These podcasts are awesome I just wish Donna could fix her sound quality, she sound like she is in tin can. Thanks again for these interviews and 5 stars for sure.
  • Illinois Robert
    Steve Goodson interview
Not sure why you’d have this guy on other than a few interesting stories. Very little content on sax mostly him talking about himself including the marriages he broke up and his lifestyle. Hope you scrap part 2. Robert

Finally - an essential saxophone podcast!
As a former reader of (and contributor to) the Saxophone Journal, I’ve missed an easy to access and informative resource for discussions of all things saxophone. This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts because I not only get inspiration for things (and ways) to practice, but I also get turned on to incredible saxophonists that are out there creating fresh and exciting music. This is definitely something that I will be requesting to my college students when school starts back up in the fall.

    Interview with Jazmin Ghent
This was my first listen to the Everything Saxophone Podcast. The interview was very interesting, highlighting a journey, thus far, for an up and coming female jazz saxophone artist. I'm passing this along to my female students in the hopes of inspiring their discovery of playing the saxophone from a female perspective.
  • MMcDowell23
    Great sax podcast
This has become one of my main podcasts in my weekly rotation. Lots of good questions for professionals for those of us who aren't professionals to learn from and think differently about saxophone and playing.
  • RoboGiffo
Didn't like this podcast... at first.
I admit, I didn't make it through the first episode. I was not a fan at all. I saw on Episode 4 they had Greg Fishman on, so I decided to give it another chance and I'm glad I did. Afterwards, I went back and listened to Episode 2, and have enjoyed every other episode so far (6 at the time of writing this). I just say all this to say, if you don't like one of the episodes, give another one a chance becuase maybe that will work out for you. Good job, and keep up the good work. I hope this doesn't fizzle out like so many other saxophone podcasts have in the past.
  • Jcam44
    A podcast to last
It would appear we are finally getting a saxophone podcast that has longevity. There have been similar podcasts in the past that after a few episodes just disappeared. All episodes have been excellent so far. Always looking forward to the next episode. Keep it up and thank you!!

    Derek Brown
YouTube is where I first heard Derek and I was blown away. This was a very informative interview. Great questions by Donna and Derek’s answers seemed transparent. This is a “must subscribe” for Saxophonist. Congrats on your maiden podcast and here’s to many more topics to cover.
