Folks, you simply love to hear it
Genuinely the only podcast I listen to every single week. The bonus episodes are great too! I don’t know what it is that these three have but I’m here for it. Update on Feb 24, 2025: still super!! This pod deserves a bigger audience.

    Let me tell you
Let me tell you, when they this podcast is funny, they are right. But let me tell you, when they tell you that “The Substance” (2024) is a funny movie, it is not. It is nightmare fuel.

    Mostly extremely good
Most of the time everyone and the topics they cover are very funny. Occasionally it’s the lowest energy a group of people can be without being asleep. There’s also occasionally in issue where one host is extremely loud and another is very quiet, and it can change from episode to episode who is loud or quiet. Half a mic discipline thing and half an editing thing.

    New Favorite Podcast
I’ve been listening for three weeks and have run through six months of past episodes. It’s extremely hilarious, the rapport between the co-hosts is endearing, and the news lives up to the title.

    Good clean fun
I have been listening to this podcast for a few years and I look forward to it for its light-hearted, good time vibes. The hosts are equally funny in their own ways, the conversations are always fun, and the show focuses on just good-natured jabs and riffs. Always brigthens my day. We love to see it.

Shelby cheated in the Death Nut Challenge
If you are ever so blessed as to have children, as you witness their newborn faces for the very first times there’s this transcendent, poignant occurrence where you realize that, inversely, that same visage will likely be the last thing you see as you pass from this earth. Nope! I will be CLOSING my eyes and imagining Eli Kath and Patty

The First Podcast I Recommend to Friends
The only podcast I will listen to every single week. You won’t find a funnier or less timely current events podcasts.

Never fails to make me laugh out loud on the train
    Every single episode.

Not funny, no topic, nothing unique to say
The hosts talk over each other and with everyone talking at the same time you cannot hear what anyone is saying. There is no main topic for the show just a bunch of random speaking. Jumping from topic to topic. There is no introduction at the beginning of the show to outline what will be discussed which I guess makes sense because I don’t believe there is an outline. If you like to hear three people laughing at themselves and the jokes that only they can hear then the show might be for you. It is not for me. I’ll pass!

The Funniest News Show There Is!
This is like if Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me actually let comedians riff on the weirdest stories of the week and also cut all the games. Basically, if it were an entirely different show, but you get my point. Really funny comics talking about really funny stories. Makes write more jokes every Monday and also turned me on to a great book, Strega Nona.

The One Guy is wrong about everything
Otherwise 5 Stars. In the end Lath will reveal tha Pericles the sullied learned from arcane source. He will be praised and punished by cenobytes in a mid 90s “occasion” Stop playing with Ouija boards, not on out side! Good talk.

    good idea
One guy is always wrong though

    Not great

The Strange & Funny Things People Do
Hilarious show that dives into the weird events and things people do. The strength of the show is the great relationship all these friends have and there laughter is contagious. Fantastic show.

    Hail Shelby
A humorous rundown of five zany news items is told by a trio of comedians to their benevolent producer. Like the gods of antiquity, Shelby is capricious. His pleasure or displeasure could turn on a dime. They dodge his wrath with their riffs. Shelby judges them audibly, scoring the conversation in real-time. Five stars

    You’re still the one
After all these years still a perfect podcast. Somehow both topical and evergreen all at once. You simply love to see it, folks.

    Great pod
Love Pat and Eli but Kath is slowly becoming more and more unbearable every week sometimes I skip when she talks, does that make me sexist?
  • drewlindy
    You love to see it
This is the only time that I’ve gone back and listened to all previous episodes of a podcast after I found it.
  • Rialnist
Like, I like, tried to like.
I was so interested in the episode titles! The Cute hosts have chosen deep thinking topics that all can learn from. The hosts seem congenial and smart. Here’s the rub: the word “like” is so culturally embedded in all American vernacular that it’s crossed deeply into journalism. It’s the new “um, uh.” (It’s not that new). All I could hear in this podcast was the word “like” over and over. I enjoyed the subject matter but the play time would be shortened considerably if the “like” words were eliminated.

The only podcast that makes you say the thing that’s the title of the podcast
Three consistently funny, genuinely decent hosts with great chemistry riff on all the important topics of the day. What more could you want in a podcast?

    Can’t stop listening!
I have basically been listening to this show nonstop since I got into it. It’s hilarious, and I love the references to DC stuff since that’s where I’m from (a nice change from podcasts that only talk about LA, though this one is out of NYC). Truly can’t get enough! So much fun!
  • SadieHawkins85
    Delightful
I laugh aloud every time. A new favorite. I discovered this podcast through Kath’s other podcast, Lie Cheat & Steal. I’ll listen to any podcast with Kath in it! Hilarious.
  • andydevito
    Hilarious hosts
Eli, Kath, and Patty are all so funny & have great rapport with each other! This is my new favorite show to have on while I do housework because it’s fun, lighthearted, and conversational. The hosts’ tangential stories and riffs make up the real meat of the show so it has the vibe of hanging out with your funniest friends. Love it!
  • L4990
    Super funny
Finally came here from Lie, Cheat, & Steal after listening for a while now and I love the content here. The news stories are usually great ones I haven’t heard of which is good and the commentary is hilarious, I’m a fan of a good personal anecdote. Comedians may name drop a little much but I’m used to that after listening to Kath and Pat from LCS lol All in all, this podcast definitely makes my work day less annoying and for that I am grateful.
  • Semite Butts
    Hilarious
I’ve been following each of the hosts forever on Twitter and finally decided to give their podcast a listen and I was not disappointed

Smokin Aces fans will love this
What A Time To Be Alive is my favorite Smokin Aces podcast out there.

    Folks we love it
Three comics with special powers. A lawyer who can (probably) name most actors in Backdraft, a wrestling fan who can think of a Mr. Show sketch for any situation, and a big anime boy who always apologizes for being tired. Funniest part of my week every week.

    3 Comedians, 0 Laughs...but 5 Stars
These 3 are something else...it’s like Québécois comedy directly translated into English and broadcast from Brooklyn. PattyMo is, to quote his co-host, “the type of guy who thinks knowing a lot of character actors counts as having a personality”. If you enjoy punchlines that are verbatim quotes from 80’s movies or descriptions of video games then he is right for you. I should note that this is not the Patrick Monahan who is the lead singer of Train, the greatest American rock group since Journey. I should also admit that learning this fact saddened me and may have colored my review of this podcast. Eli always seems excited to start his sentences but gets half way through them before losing steam and confidence in what he was saying. He lets PattyMo talk over him, and it’s all tough on the ears. Oh, except for when he does impersonations. Eli celebrates his own overly embellished impersonations from beginning to end. He’s like Rich Little but without the range, timing or interest in writing jokes. He seems sweet, simple but completely lacking in self awareness. Kath is cool, but is oblivious to how the others are holding her career back. She could be huge, giant if she were on her own. I’m sure she parties. With Eli and Patty, she is trying to overcome the gravity of working with 2 Yokos. Anyway, they seem to enjoy each other’s company, so if you’re very lonely or trying to subject a recently renditioned enemy combatant to enhanced interrogation then have at it. 5 stars.
