Far and away best way to keep up on Tampa Bay sports. Funny and informative.

Being a Montreal native but growing to appreciate & follow the local Tampa area teams, Rick and Steve (ok ok and Tom sometimes) give such a balanced and thorough analysis 5 days a week that make my commute so much better. Keep it up!

Best podcast I listen to! Enjoy an actual critic of the teams not just fans praising them or people over the top with it all. Just an honest assessment of where they are at and are going. Easily one of the things I look forward to every morning Monday through Friday. Favorite and best podcast out there.

I was a previous listener of 620AM sports talk in Tampa until I discovered this show. Rick has been covering Tampa Bay sports for a very long time and it shows. His access to insider info, along with his professionalism as a trained journalist, make for a great show. I also appreciate the audio quality. I like Steve too, but he needs to take a couple of Spanish classes so he learns how to pronounce all the Rays players names properly. I hope the show keeps going for years to come!

I moved to st pete a little over a year ago. I’ve always been a sports fan, but I’ve never lived in a city with professional teams before, so I was very excited about getting to follow the buccs, rays, and lightning. I was looking for a podcast that would teach me more about the teams and the players and whatnot, when I stumbled upon Sports Day Tampa Bay. It certainly served its purpose of providing me with in depth knowledge about the pro sports in the Tampa Bay Area, but it’s done so much more than that. It’s really made me feel a part of my new community. Every morning when I walk my dogs, I listen to this podcast. Rick and Steve are now part of daily routine and almost feel like family. They don’t just talk stats. They’re funny and interesting, and show their personalities, while still maintaining journalistic integrity. I love hearing about Rick’s Taylor swift concert adventures or Steve’s baseball stadium road trip with his sons. You guys are the best, keep up the great work!

Just want to know what happened between Glazers and Stroud in past, he clearly is bitter about something. He loves any story that can cast a shadow on the Bucs. I get being impartial and reporting but he prefers the negative stuff. I guess that’s part of working for the liberal media.

I really enjoy the podcast. I missed your show on 620 so now that I get this it fills in the gap well. Being out west miss my tampa sports fix. Keep it up. Excellent podcast and a must listen. Rick is an accomplished reporter and this podcast is a great platform for audio reporting and sound opinion. Steve Versnick not only produces but adds to what has become an excellent team. Highly recommended!

I’ve been a Rick Stroud (and Tom Jones) fan for years, and I’m so pleased to have found this podcast. Rick by himself is awesome-add Steve and the occasional Tom to the cast, and you have a morning’s worth of entertainment five days a week.

You goes don’t really talk that fast?

I listen to this podcast most days. It’s a good overview of Tampa sports news and is pleasant to listen to, but you don’t have to pay a lot of attention to it. This isn’t a knock - I need a podcast to fill that niche. I’m not a baseball fan but the stuff I’ve heard on here has made my baseball fan friends think I know what I’m talking about, which is a bonus. I really like when Rick has Tom on, he is always interesting with good perspectives. All the other reviews seem to hate Steve, but I kinda like his energy...he does interrupt but he’s just so excited about everything that it’s fine for me. I’ve never heard an episode with a female guest though, which is off-putting as a female listener.

Your opinions are not profound - you don’t have amazing insight, you’re just another idiot leftist that got fired from the failing St Pete Times.

Not that the guy isn’t smart and informative, but his pregnant pauses last just long enough for Rick to begin to form a response just to have Steve run right over him. Usually with some nonsense about baseball or something else that no one wants to hear about. In all seriousness, I understand the difficulty of recording and releasing a daily podcast with even just two people involved, but I do look forward to when Rick has guests, especially Tom Jones. They compliment and balance each other quite well. I’m sure Steve is a great producer. Whatever that means.

When taking sports or any other tropic this is a top rated podcast. However, stop with that comedy act and voice impressions especially with that Bay News 9 guy.

Listened to the J Lynch interview today. Would have been great if Stroud had not paraphrased the entire interview prior to playing the interview. It was odd but he answered all of the questions that Lynch later answered almost verbatim before playing the interview.

My first podcast of every morning commute. This is perfect length and part of my routine. Rick and Steve do a great job covering the local teams.

I like the show but I hate baseball. I listen when I’m driving in heavy traffic so its not always possible to switch to something else when Rick starts talking about the team that whines about attendance. I would love this podcast if they could put each segment on a separate podcast. Sports Day Bucs Sports Day Lightning Sports Day everything else... I end up not listening when I think there will be too much about the team dumb enough to sign a 400 year lease on a stadium on a peninsula on a peninsula...

Not a fan anymore. I started to lose interest when Rick was talking about GMac but this last episode put me over the edge. Talking political with Tom Jones was unnecessary and wrong. I do not listen to this podcast to here them talk about sexism. Lost all interest in this podcast.

Level-headed coverage for my small market teams - Rick has organized a thoughtful platform that covers Tampa Bay sports without the hot takes that plague local airwaves. I wish they’d have more Rowdies coverage, but it’s clear that Rick and his guests have broad knowledge and experience with the Lightning, Bucs and Rays. His A+ voice impressions of Jon Gruden are just an added bonus.

What an awful and absurd take from this guy on the McCoy situation. Obviously Chris is not a Bucs fan nor suffered years of watching this team dragging real fans through 16 weeks of horror every season for over a decade. “McCoy looks great, I think he’s going to have a great season!” Uneducated BS take from some amateur who likes to hear his own voice. News flash genius: McCoy always looks great in the off-season. He’s always ready to dominate. Then the season starts and he’s spearheaded some of the worst defenses we real fans have ever seen. The “stud” is the first guy with his hands on his hips staring at the jumbo tron with a defeated look on his face wondering why they just got their a**es kicked up and down the field. INSTEAD of leading his squad and pushing everyone else to be better. JPP made more impact plays in one season than #93 has in his entire career. FACT! He’s not worth close to $13 million, the Bucs can lose without him. ———————— PING-PONG TABLE: When your team is “stocked” with talent and you continuously embarrass your city almost every week, guess what? Love the professional local coverage without the hot takes. Covering the Tampa Bay professional and Florida college sports scenes.

Show was better when it first started with Rick and Tom. Now with Rick and the producer it’s not as interesting. The Producer constantly interrupts Rick which drives me crazy. Know when to be quiet and when to talk. It’s almost like he he’s trying to show how much he knows. How about having a guest co-host each day to make it more interesting. Times reporters are fine but how about bringing in some people from other media outlets. Anything is better than listening to the producer.

Good podcast I real enjoy it daily but man please don’t type while interviewing cause it takes away from the interview with all the loud typing.

I get pulled in on his podcasts. Can you pls, give us a podcast on Bruce Arians? I am praying 10 times an hour for him to get hired!!!

Wish they had a little more in depth details into things that extremely over the top sports fans pay attention to but I’ll check every episode. Also they get names wrong a lot... idk attention to detail but it’s a good product imo.

I enjoy his Buc and Rays reporting and takes. I think he is fair with everyone.

More conjecture than analysis. Clearly these two have very little football knowledge. The Tampa Bay Times is a sinking ship.

I don’t review many podcasts. This is a good one, Rick is great, and most of his guests are very good. Plus it’s even fun when they go off topic with tv, movies, anything else, etc.. Thanks so much, jeffrey

I listened to The Sports Page, then Rick and Tom and then the podcast with Rick and Tom and now this iteration. I listen to this in the morning. I have no need for morning sports talk on our local station. This is so much better. Thank you for getting me my morning fix.

It’s hard to keep up with Bucs news in Indiana, but this podcast fulfills that need and much more. Great source of information, as well as insider news for all Tampa area sports. Subscribe and enjoy.
