Jbcheetah3Can’t recommend enoughCan’t recommend enough. Very educational on the essentials and a must listen for every triathlete! Can’t recommend enough. Tower 26 has completely changed my triathlon racing to bring out the best athlete I can be.
-
JcwallerGreat interviewsGreat interviews feel like you are just hanging out after a big workout talking with big names in the sport. Fun and conversational format.
-
2012UKNYCToo much chatter and not enough contentGerry and Jim are both very knowledgeable and they do give good info, however that is only about 20% of the show. I find myself fast forwarding through so much of the show to find the actual content.
-
Paul95835Swim better from a podcast?? Absolutely.Episodes 4, 5, and 6 ought to be required listening for every triathlete. Real, specific advice on what's really important in the swim. Delivered with a clear (and fun and funny) style that makes it easy to visualize the techniques. They burst some myth bubbles, too, and help focus us all on what truly matters to be a better swimmer.
-
IncadinkadooListen, and listen real close. This is the best triathlon swim podcast bar none. I look forward to what Jim and Jerry have to say each time a new episode comes out. Their advice has been outstanding and I truly have been fresh for the bike on all my races since I have started listening to this podcast.

Stephen M. Collins (@eesmc)Knowledgeable, relevant and funThis is by far the most relevant and helpful swimming podcast I found for open water swimming. The hosts are super knowledgeable and they're fun to listen to.
-
gjordan3Get your swim on with Tower 26If you want to get faster at open water swimming this is the podcast to listen to. Jerry Rodriguez has broken down The science of open water swimming to a level where anyone can benefit. As a former collegiate swimmer (1970s) these podcasts have opened a new world of stroke technique that are without a shadow of doubt making me faster. The tower 26 program is spot on and I can’t recommend it more highly.

Boise coupleBoise triathletesMy husband and I will happily start the Gerry and Jim "fan club". We love these guys and their podcast. Great insight, interviews and advice - plus, a library of podcasts that can and should be repeated in order to become a better swimmer.
-
norbertiiiGreat content, within the fluffLove the knowledge and wisdom. Clearly experienced and wise coaches here. I love their advice and workouts. Not a subscriber, but I have no doubts their program works. As for the podcast? It’s 50% self-congratulatory banter 30% amazing content and 20% overt advertisement for Tower 26 coaching program. At least they’re upfront about it. Great guest interviews and a great Q&A with listeners. If they would trim the fat I’d give it 5 stars. Staying subscribed though as it’s one of the few legit tri coaching podcasts out there right now.

BrandonNelsonThis is what I wish every podcast was!Imagine if every podcaster first had to DO and SUCCEED at a world class level in their show's subject before broadcasting to the world. That's what Gerry and Jim have that makes this show so special. Gerry's depth of knowledge and ability to articulate is just unmatched. This show has made me a much, much better swimmer and has raised the bar of what I expect in a podcast.

Kathleen in IdahoMulti-tasking and triathlonMy husband and I are age group triathletes and like many, challenged by the swim. We both enjoy Gerry and Jim and use the poscasts as a way to enhance our knowledge, admittedly, while, working on other chores or doing ez spins on the bike. It is a great and informative resource. Turn off the TV and tune in.
-
J_40erExtremely informative!!I listen to a lot of podcasts, and this is one if not my favorite podcast. I would echo other reviews in that ALL level triathletes will benefit from Gerry's wealth of knowledge.
-
m5bubTower 26 PodcastGreat information on swimming, specifically triathlon swimming, distilled down. Gerry cuts through the noise of seemingly infinite, and sometimes contradictory, advice available on-line on improving swimming, and gives great recommendations and ways to think about the swimming training in simple but extremely well thought out terms. His philosophy that everything, every move you might do during a race, must be practiced, rehearsed is so spot on, and is consistent with motor learning and performance science. If you want to improve your swimming (open water/triathlon esp.) listening to these podcasts is time well spent.
-
adreamer80The why and the hope!!!It helps me process mentally which then translates physically (I hope) when I know why I am doing something. Gerry does just that in this podcast. The other thing he did here was give me hope when he spoke of the girl who is only 5"1' .... I mean I AM taller than that! It was fun and informative. Thank you Gerry and Jim and now that I have arrived in modern day times and figured out HOW to wirte a review, here I am!
-
SouledManThe Source of InformationFunny and informative. Gerry and Jim are the perfect ambiguously swimming duo. My first time swimming with Gerry my training improved just from the level of coaching he brings. His knowledge and experience runs deep. Jim is a great resource, a solid professional triathlete. Together they make an educational podcast fun and helpful. Thanks guys!

Sbear51Becoming an athlete at 65Thanks to Gerry and the whole Tower 26 gang, I'll be racing in my first open water swim this summer. Last year, I didn't qualify. Even though I had been swimming in the ocean since I was a 5 or 6, I couldn't swim freestyle for 500 yards without struggling, The lifeguard made me get out of the water. He didn't want to worry about me on race day. I had been doing the beginner ocean workouts with Tower 26 once a week, but Gerry said if I wanted to get any good, I had to get in the pool -- be consistent and be accountable. Working out at the Pali Pool with Tower 26 and listening to these podcasts have made all the difference. The podcasts help me remember what I've learned in the pool so I can keep focussing on some of the basics -- even as we've moved into the Race Ready stage. This year, the lifeguard won't have to worry about me, I've learned to swim much more efficiently, I've learned to pace myself, I've learned good strategies and I know my limits. But working (or listening to a great coach) is more than just developing yourself as an athlete. I've become more confident and more accountable in every area of my life. I'm lucky to be in LA and swim with Tower 26, but wherever you are, get in the pool and join a group where you can challenge yourself -- get encouragement, make friends and be safe. Then, listen to these podcasts -- you'll become a better swimmer and a more confident person.
-
cloudasmokeGreat for Beginner to ExpertGerry brings years of open water swimming and coaching experience and breaks down swim technique in a very approachable way. It is helpful for all swimmers but focuses on triathletes and their specific needs for longer open water races. Highly recommend!
-
Jim M SHigh impact - super relevant for triathletesI just started listening to Gerry's podcasts and 'binge'-listened to his first 1/2 dozen episodes! I love that they are short and sweet, no fluff, and high impact for triathletes. Content delivered in bite-size chunks and easy to understand. Recommend you start with first episode, as they build on each other on top of Gerry's overall development framework. This has really energized my swim training.
-
Aray01Great ShowYou guys continue to put out quality content show after show. It is so very much appreciated. Keep up the fantastic work.
-
Emily J BerlinPivotal to all those crazy enough to triathlonLucky to have Gerry in my corner. If it were only for his intelligent, carefully crafted workouts it would be enough, but Gerry possesses those coaching intangibles you just can't teach. His dedication to every single one of his athletes and to making the sport greater is more than admirable. This podcast is a small testament that that dedication.

SirrahS.Experience MattersThere are 4 main types of learning styles. Most of us, as we are younger, learn from Visual (learn through seeing), Tactile (learn through touch) and Kinesthetic (learn through doing and moving) As I mature I am pleased to find that we still learn, often through the fourth style, Auditory (learn through hearing). Hearing these podcasts is such a boon! Applying intelligence to the hard work of physical dedication causes the physiological and mental adaptions needed to achieve our goals. These podcasts by Gerry and Jim provide the information needed to make intelligent decisions. They are a treasure trove. Results speak for themselves.
-
Mark M JeffreyGreat Resource for New SwimmersAs a swimmer with no formal training, listening to Gerry is incredibly motivating and very beneficial. I feel fortunate to have met him and grateful to be able to continue to learn from afar via this podcast!
-
Jen SchumacherEssential Skills for Open Water TrainingBe Race Ready is an excellent podcast about acclaimed swim and triathlon coach Gerry Rodrigues’s approach to training. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences both as a coach and athlete to the table and has clearly developed a realistic approach to quality training for triathletes that fits within the parameters of what they need to do to be ready for the swim portion of their events. As an open water swimmer myself (not triathlete), I find this information invaluable to my training and am a regular listener of the podcast and participant in his open water summer beach series. I highly recommend both for anyone interested in maximizing their potential in open water swimming!
-
jhbboyTower 26 podcast reviewIt’s seldom one is able to become a better athlete later on in one’s life, however, under the guidance of Coach Gerry, I was able to achieve just that. This pod cast is a gem to anyone in need of world class, accessible coaching tips.
-
KristinDiehlGreat education for triathlon swimmersThis podcast is a great supplement to any triathlete's workout because you should not just do workouts you should know WHY you are doing them. There are a bunch of coaches out there, but nobody has Gerry's experience in coaching OPEN WATER and let's face it there are very few triathlons that happen in a pool. So while there is much work to be done in the pool, Gerry's prescription has the triathlete in mind, which I think is rare. I am lucky in that I live in LA and get to train with Gerry, so these podcasts reinforce his teaching. If you are newer to coached swimming (I learned how to swim when I was 3 but never swam in high school or college) there is a lot to learn. You should find a coach or a Master group to help you. It took me a while to learn the lingo and drills, but stick with it and it will work! What I think makes Gerry an amazing coach is that he is always ready to learn and experiment. He really knows what works but he believes there is always more to learn and ways to improve. That attitude comes across in his coaching whether it is deck side or in this podcast, but listening to the podcast is much less exhausting :-)
-
bubbles22Tower26A lifetime of knowledge distilled into 20 minutes.
-
KatherineARyanGreat listen for any level of athleteI am so glad that Coach Gerry is sitting down and broadcasting these educational sessions. His formula works and there are countless athletes who prove it every year from T26. There are a lot of people out there who can coach but Gerry is the leader in open water swimming. Keep the material coming, this sport needs more leaders like Gerry.
-
Therickfloyd!Best advice availableGerry is the best when it comes to triathlon and open water swim advice. Without question one of the the nicest, most genuine and educated in the sport!
-
Todd LarleeWant to swim faster and thirst real knowledge on open water swimming? Then this is the podcast for you. Gerry and Jim will help you break down the different issues of triathlon and open water swimming. This is the podcast if you desire information on how to transform your swim both in practice and during a race.
-
RHOMBOR->Tune In and Up Your Swim GameGerry is an awesome swim coach and a wealth of knowledge. This podcast is a great way to access his insights on swim training, workout development, technique, etc. He and Jim make it an enjoyable listen too. Definitely tune in.
-
Nell OBrilliant swim coach, excellent communicatorGerry R is a world renowned swim coach and has a very clear communication style on radio. He provides strong frameworks for thinking about the swim and has a remarkable ability to make complicated things simple. I highly recommend for triathletes at any stage in their career.
-
Brian PanosianVolunteer Admin. Assist. / Tower 26To be successful in any endeavor staying educated is of prime importance and Gerry’s podcasts do just that. Learning never SHOULD stop, and these podcasts will help you be a more accomplished swimmer through your lifetime, not just for 1 particular race.
-
purplepatch fitnessSetting the path for your approach to swimmingGerry has been a pillar in my approach to leading the swimming portion of my triathlon coaching since the very start, beginning with leading my swimming portion of triathlon when racing professionally. His insights and coaching framework are symbiotic to my coaching beliefs, hence so enthused to see hi now sharing his wisdom through this show. There is a blizzard of misinformation out there about swimming in triathlon, Gerry will help you find your path and see clearly. Don’t miss it. Matt Dixon
-
DMohagenTower26Jim is spot on, “there is so much noise out there” in regard to triathlon swimming. Gerry eliminates the static and focuses on what is required to Be Race Ready. Gerry’s experience is unmatched, with proven and targeted training methods and success, that ranges from newbies to Olympic Champions. This is an excellent podcast for swimmers and triathletes at every level.
-
PsistT26 podcast reviewGreat info for the triathlete, especially for improving swim. Well done and very professional.
-
JimcraneTriathlon Swimming with Tower 26This is an outstanding podcast that is a very detailed overview of how to work and train for triathlon swimming. I had no swimming background and didn’t learn to swim until I was 54 years old. Gerry took the time to commit to my success and I am now an Ironman. I love one of many mottos we have which is “ no one trains like we do. “
