I listen to several BYU and Big 12 podcasts. Pete Mundo is by far the best Big 12 pod.

Niko can’t go to another SEC school during spring portal Pete. He would have to sit out the 2025 season. It’s a conference rule. Doesn’t apply to December portal. That’s how Jackson Arnold went from OU to Auburn last December. Can’t do it in April, unless it’s a different conference. Send me a shirt good sir!

Honest yet not overly sensational 7. Not too many advertisements 8. Pete Mundo’s perfect voice 9. Not too short, not too long, easy to keep up with 10. Episodes posted with frequency 11. Cultivates a tenderness toward every team in the Big 12 so that we easily root for them when they play other conferences and long to see the conference as a whole do well. 12. Family/children anecdotes

There are so many things HCS nails covering the Big XII with near-unparalleled depth of coverage. It is not skewed to one team in particular and is pretty fair to every program. My biggest qualm is how punchy and combative every episode feels. It feels like every episode is trying to find ways to put the “Big XII gets slighted again” in the cover. Trust me, I have no love for ESPN not the SEC, but I want to hear about what is happening in the conference as a whole or even speculation about UConn not wholesale criticism of ESPN commentators. All that aside, it’s a great podcast and still informative. Keep up the great work!

I have listened to every Big 12 podcast and Heartland is the best

My team is in a new leave and this podcast has been great helping me learn about the other teams and traditions. Can’t recommend it enough!

Great podcast. Very informative updates on the Big 12 Conference. Pete Mundo and his team are a treasure.

As a podcast consumer it’s been a kick in the balls to lose some great P12 content and personalities. Heartland is now a go to for B12 content. (Even tho ASU is being relagated to an afterthought and also ran and maybe rightfully so…for now) Great stuff so far. Looking forward to in season.

I’ve been listening to numerous B12 podcasts regularly for a long time. I don’t normally leave reviews, but Mundo continues to impress me with hard truths, detailed analysis, and a rooting interest in a better Big 12!

I love the honest coverage and all the free content! Well worth a 5 star rating + review.

Please stop asking for the audience to “hit the subscribe button”. I stopped listening because of the amount of times that was mentioned. Once, MAYBE twice (beginning and end) is plenty. If the show is good (which I believe it is), people will subscribe.

Appreciate the podcast Pete but your audio quality is really atrocious. Will happily raise to 5 starts if fixed! The audio is very muffled and muted so listeners really need to crank the volume and then when the ads come on it is blaring as a result.

Finally a show that goes in depth about the big 12. The national media doesn’t show the big 12 as much love but it’s refreshing to get an unbiased breakdown of the conference through each phase of the season! Definitely worth a listen, Pete keeps it super entertaining!

Love the non biased all around big 12 talk! I wish there was a little more cyclone talk but it makes it when you talk about them special. I do have one question, would a 9-3 season be disappointing for Iowa State?

I love this show. Best Big 12 football show hands down. I’m a Horns fan and I embrace the Horns down. I’m a Texan and I love seeing TCU, Tech, Houston, and Baylor win. I love our teams in this conference. I cheer for our teams from Provo to Orlando, from Lubbock to Morgantown, from Houston to Aimes, and everywhere in between. Thanks for the awesome show Pete. Thanks for being unbiased and fair across the board. I’m a huge fan! HOOK EM!!!

This guy keeps repeating everything over and over again so that he can prolong the episode. His material is useless, don’t listen to this podcast if you are looking for a quality podcast. The guy is terrible.

Best Big 12 football podcast there is

Pete has inconsistent logic in his ratings. I wouldn’t care except he tries to sell himself as impartial. He has a radio voice with bad analysis. In fairness he does have a product to sell, so it makes sense.

I listen to a fair number of football podcasts. I am a graduate of both WVU and Texas. Pete Mundo’s podcast is easily the best general Big 12 podcast and one of the best football podcasts generally. Pete provides intelligent analysis on important issues. If you like the Big 12, you should start with this podcast.

I love listening to sports podcasts, but so many of them only focus on 5-10 teams. It’s awesome to great a breakdown of the Big 12 and get some WVU coverage even during our lean years.
