They are obnoxious, they are absurd, they are irreverent, and they are - at times - shockingly insightful. If you are looking for something different in the TV & Film podcasting genre, something honest and with zero interest in pandering, then turn your ears to The Hawkins Report: A Stranger Things Podcast by LSG Media.

    RIP
RIP to a great pod. Hopefully maybe you'll consider doing the others seasons in the future with another host. Until this, I'll just keep enjoying their other shows

    Worst Stranger things podcast…Ever!
Racism…sexism…all the ism’s wrapped up behind what could’ve been a “good” podcast.
  • Aaron......
    Noooo
The only good Stranger Things podcast out there and they stopped recording. I get that you don’t have the full cast, but Dean could do great solo or with a guest host. Anyway, best of luck to you all.

    I love this podcast
This podcast is funny and just absolutely perfect. It’s the best stranger things podcast you will find!

    Top notch
Great podcast, really enjoyed these insightful discussions about one of my favorite shows. Can't wait for Season 4! By the way, don't listen to the naysayers who wrote bad reviews, LSG rules!

    It could have been good
If not for the hosts’ crude, sexist, and occasionally racist “humor”. There are moments of insightfulness and times when it’s entertaining, then they jar you with some off-color remark that passes for humor, and it just ruins it. It’s frustrating because there’s a good podcast in there somewhere if the hosts had just listened to how off putting they sound when they say some of these things.

    Awesome!
I’ve recently became a fan of stranger things back in July when my friend made me watch it and I ended up loving it. I’ve watched all three seasons twice and can’t wait until season 4 drops so this is something I can enjoy while the new season is still on its way!! My Favorite podcast!!!❤️

I would rather listen to Darrel and Addi

    Great quarantine content
Nice way to pass the time right now while stuck inside and missing the show. I found these podcasters through a Silence of the Lambs episode and got hooked. They have a lot of other content out there to enjoy.

    I Dig-Dug this podcast!
Simply put, Dean & Jess have good, insightful discussion, often noticing nuances I may have missed all while making me laugh. Be warned though, if you are easily offended by irreverent humor, or are just a dull human being this is not for you. Also pants are optional!

    Best podcast
Best podcast by far on the internet! They are hilarious!

    Racist much?
It makes me sad to write this because I thought this was a good podcast until I heard the Asian jokes. Not sure how you can go off on Billy being racist and then call an Asian American girlfriend of Mr. Clarke ‘exotic’ and also compare Nancy’s butt to that of a 12 year-old Asian boy. Are you comfortable making equivalent jokes using Black people? Or maybe it’s alright as long as the targets are Asian. Smh.

When do we get season 3?
Would love to hear season 3, kinda like you inserted Chernobyl coverage in. We are jonesing for Jess and Dean to give us their insights!!!

    Thorough & Fun!
I have tried listening to several Stranger Things podcasts. This is one of my favorites. He is very thorough and interesting and she lends some silly, funny ideas and conversation. Thanks for the good work! ARE YOU GUYS COMING BACK FOR SEASON 3?!
  • Dr Metropolis
    You know what.
Dean and Jessica dive deep in with humor and other stuff n things.. just listen to this... if you get offended... knock it off.
  • Hockey Spouse
    Jessica, Rejoin the Party!
No shade on Dean and Matthew, but you are the expert on superpowered girls and the Joyce-Hopper Ship! Have been enjoying the LSG snarkiness for many years! Many thanks!
  • Passingthrough2
    Not the best
There are some decent conversations but most of it is overpowered by the irritating hosts. They try to joke around but just aren’t funny. The fact that they then drag these unfunny bits on too long makes it even worse.

The strangest thing is if you haven’t subscribed yet!
Cue the 80s synth music, roll those D&D dice, and call your good buddy Steve Harrington over. It'd high time you had a listen to the Hawkins Report. Seriously, we all love Stranger Things. It's a great tv show. And what enhances the experience of a great tv show more than listening to a fun, insightful podcast that expertly dissects the show? Nothing, that's what. The answer is nothing. So hit the Subscribe button before the mind flayer comes to eat your soul or continues to torture poor Will Byers. (Seriously, can that kid catch a break or what?) Jessica and Dean are great hosts and you can tell they love the show, and love talking about it.

    Thorough insight
Dean & Jess do a great job getting through each scene. There’s so much to cover and they pound it out like pros. Especially the scenery changes and sets production. Plus it helps they grew up in that time. I listen to other podcasts and they either sound old or that they’re afraid of saying something that will hurt someone’s feelings. Not these guys & lady! The irreverent humor and constant busting of “chops” is what got me to listen. No PC crap here, just fun. Real friends just talking about S.T. I like it when they bust Mr. Anderson, good stuff.

    So funny!!!
This show is haleriouse!!!thats all I have to say
  • QT McGrue
    The male host is annoying
“Pulsating vagina”? I think the male host says a lot of annoying things. If the lady host wants to day drink, don’t threaten to put her in a program like you’re her dad. While I continue searching for a better ST podcast, this will do.

The Best Stranger Things Podcast Period!
This is easily the best podcast on the smash hit Stranger Things! I love that you can tell they've all done their research on the episodes but they keep a great sense of humor and make it an engaging and easy listen! If you're a fan of Stranger Things this podcast is a great way to accompany the Netflix binging haha

Like the friends you wish you had
Ok, these two have really grown on me and now I look forward to hearing the podcast almost as much as watching the show. And I’m totally with Jessica on all of her opinions! Thanks guys!
  • Whereiend
Fans of the show will appreciate this podcast
Good, common sense hosts (male and female), with solid analysis and excellent recaps of the episodes.

    Won’t find a better pod
These guys, THESE GUYS!! I was looking for a ST pod to listen to to see if my feelings about the show where just mine or others had the same thoughts. Into my headphones come Dean and Jessica(sometimes matt) and I have not been disappointed yet(ok maybe that Episode 7 pod). It’s not your dad’s podcast but that’s what makes it that more awesome, this pod makes it feel like you are right there with them talking at the bar about your favorite show. That’s a lot guys and keep up the great work!

Tight and Right. Love this Podcast
What can i say? LSG is the balls. The commentary and witty banter of the two hosts is very entertaining. You can tell they love what they do and it shows. Go get knuckle deep in their line up of podcasts, which pretty much covers any genre and tastes. Don't be a tool box. Suscribe to this and other podcast by LSG Media.

    Stop looking, THIS is it!!
I love you guys!! I'm a certified podcast junkie and like to believe I've built a solid list of excellent pods. It finally dawned on me to look for a Stranger Things podcast I listened to an episode of several I found. Then I stumbled across The Hawkins Report and stopped looking. The hosts clear passion for the show/actors/story/80's, NSFW banter, and introspection are spot on. Dynamic and funny AF. A show by fans for fans. This podcast enhances my experience and connection to the show. Keep up the great work!!

    GREAT Stranger Things Podcast
Love Love Love this podcast! Great dynamic duo hosts. Love the breakdown of each episode and the hosts analysis’, guesses, rants and humor! Keep up the good work! ❤️🤘🏽

    Couldn’t continue
Immediately turned off after the host criticized dig dug. Would prefer to listen to people who have more knowledge about the era.
  • Alex from Sweaty Miami
Great addition to scratch that itch
Looking for some insight or explore more into the episodes this is your podcast. These two are great when it comes to informative and the natural comedic timing from Dean. They also have another podcast that cover science fiction films just search lsg.

    Really fun podcast!
I discovered LSG Media through this podcast during season 1 of Stranger Things. I’ve since listened to all of their podcasts and I always enjoy them. They just feel real and the hosts are funny and don’t try to make the pod some big spectacle. It’s just super funny and fun and you’ll have a good time!
  • Logansmommy612
    Awesome
You guys freaking rule, and even better together. Jessica and Dean, we would totally be homies and watch shows together then have a freaking blast. On the eve of season 2 of Stranger Things, please continue with the Hawkins Report.
  • whithawk42
    Could be good, but...
... the male host just throws me out of the experience. Some of the analysis is interesting and engaging but it seems like the guy is just looking for opportunities to wedge in needlessly dark, crude, or *insert identity*-phobic commentary. I understand that stuff doesn't bother everyone, so it could be your thing but it just wasn't mine.

    Fun Podcast
I’m found this cast when I was getting ready to do a ST rewatch. It’s light and fun, I enjoy the show.

    LSG is the best!
I am doing a rewatch of this show because it is fire and I am getting all amped up for season 2. Love having the LSG Media podcast to listen to after each episode. Dean and Jessica are great, and the podcast is full of insightful commentary. I love the Stephen King/80's movie influence on this show, and can really apprecaite where Jessica is coming from being such a King fan herself. These guys are great, per ususal!
  • Uniblab414
    yep
this show caught a big part of me because I was the kids age in the 80s. many kudos to the cultural reflection of the time- the clothes, interior design and the development of the characters themselves. I am so looking forward to season 2 and your reviews- love your humor

    Garbage...
There are waaaaayyyy better podcasts that cover the awesomeness that is Stranger Things. I listened to the first episode all the way through to give it the benefit of the doubt. Not worth it. The name and artwork are way above this podcast, which is a huge bummer. The hosts are pretty obnoxious and not in an endearing way. They seem like they're in an abusive relationship with undertones of self loathing. It's distracting at best. Give it a shot if you'd like, but be prepared for the disappointment. Again, there are better podcasts that cover this.
  • JustCollin
    5 stars across the board.
This podcast got me into the other shows and films LSG Media covers and I have never looked back. Such a great podcast and definitely a part of my daily routine now!
  • Buzzbuzzbuzz22
    Great podcast except...
I love the content of this show - it's been holding me over while I wait for the new season to launch in October BUT the I agree with many of the comments below about the host's humor. I'm by no means a prude, and am not put off by 'potty mouths' but it the frequency of dated and vulgar humor detracts from the smart points the hosts make about the show. The male host sounds far too pleased with himself when he makes one of these jokes.
  • Lllllllbrainnnnssss
Terrific! Glad to discover this duo!
Great thorough coverage of a wonderful series! Thanks to you both on the awesome notes opinions and insights.
  • Frolickingotter
    Negatives vastly outweigh the positives
This could be good. The insightful bits start to get on to something, but then they completely derail it by... -Body shaming Nancy CONSTANTLY. Seriously, STOP. It's not funny, and telling someone to "eat a hamburger" is one of the oldest jokes in the book. -The lesbian jokes with Barb are overdone. -Too much swearing. And I can't believe I'm saying that. But it comes off as forced and trying to sound "edgy" or whatever. I use the f-bomb as much as the next person, but honestly... it just comes off as incredibly crass. I'm not offended, it really just lowers the overall quality of the podcast. -Jessica gets weirdly emotionally attached to the characters. We get it, the show makes you care, like we all did. But the way she comes across is just really creepy. Like I said, I think that this could be a decent podcast. There are some good thoughts, comparisons, insights, whatever, but it can get really cringey to listen to really fast. I do appreciate doing the live thing, but some editing before airing would really benefit it.

    Binge Listening
Much like Stranger Things is utterly binge-able, so is this podcast. A fantastic mix of recap, analysis, prediction, and, of course, humor. Well done. I ship this podcast/show.
  • ABKNYC
    Too much upward inflection
I don't enjoy this podcast. The comments are not critically insightful, the female announcer constantly uses upward inflection and seems to be overly involved with the characters on an emotional level to the point where she sounds resentful and hateful. The male announcer also constantly interrupts her. They both curse a lot but it sounds forced. I'm looking for more critical analysis and context from people who have studied film and writing.
  • 4theluvofrock
It's 2016, ditch the crude jokes
I loved this podcast, until the hosts made a transphobic joke. And made a stereotypical comment about lesbian haircuts. And body-shamed Nancy. These things, and really crude humor, ruined episode 2. I couldn't listen any further at that point. It's 2016-- try smart humor instead of thoughtless and discriminatory.

Necessary for any Stranger Things fan
I had never heard of LSG, I actually just searched "Stranger Things podcasts" in iTunes and downloaded this one and two other ones. Once I was halfway through Dean and Jessica's first episode, I deleted the other two. They cover the episodes so comprehensively, breaking them down scene by scene, and their personal commentary are both hilarious and insightful. They've made me a fan of podcasts and I can't wait to check out the rest of what LSG offers! (And I'm with you Jess, total Jancy shipper--sorry Dean!) and these two are so nice! I tweeted them to thank them for getting me through domestic flights and they both responded! 😊🤓👍🏻🤘🏻✌🏻️

Could be a lot better without the potty mouth humor
I actually like this podcast. For the content and insights, I would give it 4 stars. The problem is the male host spends 90% his time making lame and crude comments. He has good points to make but they get lost because he has a potty mouth. Tone it down; you would have a much better podcast.

    A Must-Listen!
I found this podcast by searching 'Stranger Things' to see if anyone was talking about the show I was amazed by. I'm so glad I did because this podcast is almost as enjoyable as the show. It's great to listen to two (and three) people talk about something with the same level of joy and consideration I have. Keep up the amazing work, guys!

    Off-color and committed to sci-fi
They understand sci-fi subculture backward and forwards which allows them to explicate without pretention, posturing, grandstanding, etc.
