Politics lose 50% of your audience and takes away from these real stories. Stop being selfish.

Use to be my favorite podcast. The scripted back & forth has devolved to be awkward and cringey, which I could have gritted through but now it’s so woke & political it’s absolutely unbearable to listen to all together

I’ve listened to almost every single episode but it’s gone very downhill. Ashley and Brit enjoy talking about politics in almost every single episode now. It’s really not a true crime podcast anymore.. so disappointing because this was my go to podcast.

my older sister started listening to this and then I listened to it and I can’t stop when I go to bed at night. I listen to it and it is so amazing and very detailed. I love this podcast. Except Ashley is very political and i love trump and she is very political TRUMP MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

Found this podcast while traveling and started to really enjoy it, despite foul language. BUT only a handful of episodes in, they go off on a political rant. They say they aren’t and then continue ranting. I will turn on a political podcast if I want to hear it-NOT a crime podcast!! Sad that people cannot stay in their lanes.

Don’t listen to the hate! Everyone in the comments complaining about you sharing your political opinions is being so hypocritical. They’re doing it too. It’s your podcast, and you still have plenty of followers who love these stories. (Plus if they were really a fan they could skip over or ignore so that they could listen to the other parts of the case.) The detail of this podcast is so amazing, and so inspiring. To realize there are people in this world who are dedicated to helping the families and friends by raising awareness of their cases. The detail is also amazing, it feels like I am completely understanding the entire case. Also, the fact that these are shorter episodes with more information and less fluffy like some other crime podcasts (no offense to people who like it, those just aren’t my style) is what I’ve really been looking for. Keep it up! It’s amazing!

I have been listening since 2019, and y’all are the only podcast I have ever listened to. I don’t like podcasts, so that is a really big compliment coming from me. BUT like everyone else’s recent reviews… something has shifted in your story telling. The political rants, language, and desensitizing is just off putting. I won’t go as far as a 1-star review because y’all really did have the greatest podcast in prior years. Please go back to that, we miss it.

I think the hosts forgot they are a true crime podcast and not a political or social commentary one. Please stay in your lane

I LOVE THIS PODCAST SOOO MUCH!! Not only it being a GREAT podcast they are doing so much for the people behind the scene.

I used to love this show. You’ seem to forget you’re talking about REAL people who died in horrible ways. Completely inappropriate to rant about politics when you’re discussing real life tragedies. Latest mother’s day, oh sorry, how we should call it “birthing-persons day” rant was absurd & disgusting.I found it funny how you said you’d go crazy if all of the comments were about this and here we all are. Women’s healthcare should be only for women yet you then go on to say it’s “birthing persons day” to include biological men. You truly should find new content to chat about. You clearly are lacking empathy and things it’s appropriate to push your political views down people’s throats when talking about horrific murder cases. lol. Freaks.

How in the world can these two women be pro abortion?!?! They report story after story on murder including crimes in which a pregnant woman is killed and the perpetrator is then indicted for two counts of murder, one being for the baby. And then Ashley goes on to say “before Roe v Wade gave us brief bodily autonomy before controlling women became everyone’s top priority again…”. What is wrong with y’all? And they’re both mothers! They felt those babies moving in their own wombs and saw their heartbeats on sonograms! After a woman has a miscarriage nobody ever says “ she lost the fetus” no they say she lost the baby! Because it is a baby and if you kill a baby it is murder! That is the facts! The way so many people think is sick!

I loved this podcast ! Until now I’m currently listening to the Karina Holmer in Boston case. I find it really weird how they’re laughing throughout the podcast. It’s weird listening to them get so excited like this was a real person that was killed in a horrible way. Do better !

This used to be an interesting podcast, but now it’s become quite boring. It’s hard to make it through an episode now. Plus, it was so ironic when Ashley was ranting about abortion and birthing persons and all that nonsense because she mentioned how important it is not to divide people, yet her own speech was very divisive. Did I mention the irony? The anti-women speech is also irritating. Mothers are women. Period. Here’s some more irony for you. She didn’t even seem to realize that in the same rant, she was all for women’s healthcare but at the same time she advocated for removing women’s claim to motherhood. There’s a real lack of critical thinking there. I don’t think she or Brit really have any views of their own. The lack of critical thinking is evidence of that. They just jump on whichever bandwagon they think is popular. Maybe they should try having some respect for women, you know, considering most of their audience is female. One last thing.. you can’t GENUINELY try to display compassion for the victims in a story who were murdered while at the same time supporting the murder of babies. These hosts have too many double standards. Oh, and as I mentioned above, the episodes are so boring.

Two stars for research. Negative three stars for their liberal soapbox. I just wanted to listen to some true crime since I’ve listened to everything by tenderfoot. Thought this looked good as I had seen a show about the Manhattan Jane doe on Hulu before they identified her. Unfortunately I was mistaken.

I’ve been loving Crime Junkie & Brit & Ashley for 5 years, I found them at the start of Covid, and as a healthcare worker who lived alone, they were my lifeline during that very hard time. To this day, CJ and all the audiochuck podcasts are still lifelines and part of my daily life and it’s brought community into my life as well. I love you guys!!

I absolutely love this podcast. I listen to it while I uber. I must say Ashley and Brit y’all have me spoiled because there is no one that can tell a story like you two. I have finally caught up on all the episodes and it is making me sad because I have to wait for a new episode. I have been listening to you all for almost 3 years and loved every story. The best podcast out there hands down! I aspire to be a detective one day. One thing I noticed is that most of the stories you all have told are about unsolved cases, I hope to be the detective one day that can give families the answers they need to be at ease. Not having to pass away without knowing what happened to their love one. I know i will not be able to solve all but I definitely want to solve majority.

I used to love the podcast soooo much, but i’ve noticed you guys have become very excited to talk about these cases, forgetting that these were real people that once lived and real people still mourn most of these people TODAY. these were real people, not just a fun story. it seems like you’re too desensitized to these horrific and sad stories. :(

I really used to like the podcast, but they are using their podcast as a stage to push political beliefs.

Great podcast, interesting stories told by engaging hosts. Some negative reviews complain about the politics, I actually really appreciate Ashley and Britt sharing political anecdotes and reminding us all of the humanity of others. Keep up the compassion and keep doing what you’re doing, we love it!

In the beginning, your stories were pretty exciting and now they are kind of boring.

The latest rant on political views total took away from the victims. Hard to listen to after you ranted angrily about very divisive issues. So sad… what is happening to this podcast?

This started as by far the best crime podcast out there. Then it just ended up turning into a “F the police” movement. Half the stuff they complain about aren’t even the police’s responsibility, it’s on the DA’s office.

I was introduced to this podcast by my stepmother a few years ago and now it’s the only podcast or anything I listen to. Me and my boyfriend listen to at least one episode every night and it’s the best true crime podcast I can find.

I just started listening a couple weeks ago and I love it! I’m from Indianapolis and love hearing the local stories from our lovely local ladies! Keep on keeping on!

Got political. Lifetime listener, never going to listen again.

Ah, the added political talk in the Indiana Dunes episode. Keep men out of women’s healthcare… I hope Ashley has this same energy for the biological men who want to compete in women’s sports.

Update…came back to see if they decided to stick to storytelling instead of politics. Nope I guess not. Geez. What did you guys do!?! I use to love listening to this podcast but now every other episode is filled with them pushing their (and I hate this word) “wholeness”. Just tell the story…the facts…sorry you guys have drank the koolaid.

Used to listen to every episode. I could rant about how it’s become political but I won’t. What I don’t like is how you sound so excited to TELL THE STORY. “Wait… for the story…. I have for you.” Giggling, laughing…. I feel like it has become so desensitized to the fact these are real people’s stories, real victims…It feels like you’ve strayed from what your podcast originally was and comes off so cringe and lacking sympathy. Just my two cents from someone who has listened for YEARS.

I discovered your podcast a few months ago and started listening to the current episodes. I’ve since gone back and listened from the beginning. Got all up to date and joined the fan club to listen to bonus episodes. I appreciate that you focus on the victims, families and discuss issues that affected the cases. It doesn’t matter our political leanings, we should all want to do better to get quicker resolutions even if we have to have uncomfortable discussions.

The stories could be good but the amount of “you should talk to cops” nonsense they spout is gross. Cops are corrupt and it’s dangerous to talk to them. Very privileged perspective from these hosts.

This is used to be one of my favorite podcasts. You got a little bit of everything, from solved cases to updates on other cases. Now it’s turned into a missing person and unsolved podcast only. Don’t get me wrong I love that they cover those cases but I also love listening to cases that have been solved and there is an ending to the story. I already listen to The Deck

So i mean i like the show but she talks too much about politics. But hearing her opinion is interesting so idk 🤷‍♀️

It made me cringe to hear you use someone’s Facebook post to shame “who they are.” Honoring women as mothers and not being okay with the term birthing person, is actually important. I’m all for compassion but don’t strip the reality of real women in order to do that. Being a mother is the most precious and special thing, and it’s anti-feminist to give that privilege to biological males as well. And fyi- not all women agree with abo*tion. We have the right over our own bodies, absolutely, but not over our babies bodies. Stop pushing that down everyone’s throats as if we as women stand behind that. Because we don’t.

I really enjoyed this podcast for years. It has become too political as of late and I just can’t listen any longer. There are plenty of podcasts that deal with politics. I wish Crime Junkie would stick to crime.
