Saguaro StewLord Nice FanNeil is a legend and does a terrific job of breaking down complex topics. I’m also a huge fan of (Lord) Chuck Nice. For a layperson he has an incredible understanding of the topics but as a nonscientist keeps the others in check to not go too far astray from common understanding. The show is hugely entertaining and leaves you feeling smarter.

ooooooooooooooooooiioVery scientificVery good
-
great publicationOrigin of lifeBrilliant discussion with Sara Imari Walker, theoretical physicist, a deep dive into theories of what life is, and the difference between ‘life” and something being “alive,” The question of complexity and are other kinds of life (non-DNA or different DNA), synthetic biology. The usual comedy duo of Neil and Chuck, but Chuck asks some very good questions and clarifications.
-
snakes foreverKTCPlease bring Kate the chemist back on star talk because it’s very interesting to hear her takes plus Neil’s. Seriously the episodes with her in them I’ve listened to many times I just love having both of my role models in one podcast ( I’m a 12 year old girl by the way). This podcast is also one of few resources for one of the fields I want to go into ( astrophysics or astrochemistry).
-
mtnmliverNeil!in the latest episode with Daniel Levitin on music you interrupt him AND lgrill him demanding facts etc It is clear Daniel is a leader in his field- and you continue to undermine him- why can’t you meet these people where they are at? it sounds like you are threatened by any other scientist who may know something you do not - you tell us to keep looking up so take your own advice! arg ….so frustrating to listen to
-
grimthunkS15 E53Hi guys love the show! I can’t believe you guys talked about convergent evolution and didn’t mention wings, mammals, birds, insects, fish! It’s the best example. Anyway, really appreciate all that you do. Glen Mayers, northeast Pennsylvania
-
Trg342Space nerd, who can’t believe she just discovered this podcastI love this podcast so far! I of course love space and all things astrological theory, so I am a huge Neil deGrasse Tyson fan! How did I not know that he had a podcast!? I wish the audio quality was a little better though. It often sounds a little bit zoom call-ish and Neil’s audio comes in very whistly and harsh on S sounds, while I have to turn the volume up for the guest audio and back down when Neil speaks. Otherwise loving the pod! Loving the guests and topics!
-
logan spindlerI love this podcastI love this podcast so much continue making it guys thanks
-
Slk-loothAnnoyed!You have wonderful guests talking about interesting subjects but I can’t listen to you anymore. It’s because you and your hosts are so busy interrupting and talking over your guests in an attempt to be funny that the guest can’t say what they want to say. Sometimes you are mildly funny but usually you are just annoying. Please let your guests speak!
-
jumbomamaLove you guysChuck and Neil! So great! Your laughter is infectious! Your podcast always makes me happy and, a little more knowledgeable!
-
LongLiveApollo11Sometimes gets sidetrackedI enjoy listening when I have nothing else to do. But frequently I feel like Neil goes off topic and the guest follows along with him rather than go back to the subject
-
Valero711Stop interrupting your guests Neil!I’ve loved this show for years but simply cannot continue to listen to Neil interrupt every single guest. Just don’t have any guests if you do not want to listen to them.
-
AndresC86Interesting topic - awful and awkward jokesThe host frequently makes jokes that feel out of place and aren't funny, which disrupts the flow of interesting discussions and causes the storyline to lose coherence. At times, when the guest shares genuinely intriguing information, the host attempts to make a humorous punchline, leading to awkward moments. This forced laughter detracts from the overall content. Most likely will not be listening again.
-
Hop DavidLow standards for rigor and accuracyTyson gives his audience many wrong explanations. For example he tells us the James Webb Space Telescope is parked at the L2 point in earth’s shadow. Or that rocket propellant goes exponentially with payload mass. Or that only carbon burns. Neil really needs to take some time to research his topic before attempting an explainer. He is negligent.
-
Not (not) LuckyLove thisLove the podcast but chuck makes 40% unfunny jokes and you laugh at them and you can tell that some of your laughs are fakes please make good jokes chuck and some of them are good just not all.

RtyfdsGary’s MicrophoneSir, you are a broadcaster on a nationally heard program. Please take the necessary steps to improve the quality of your sound. It sounds like you’re using your kitchen as a studio and that creates too much reverberation. Watch a utube video about how to set up a podcast studio! My gosh do better! Thank you
-
Faydo29First Time ListenerMy son recommended your podcast and I’m so happy he did. I’ll keep listening, learning, and thinking.
-
Joseph MorrisseyNeil must be a very loyal friendBut I stopped listening because of the “comic relief” Chuck Nice.
-
FunkingcrazyChuck isn’t funny and spoils the show.Chuck, please shut up when Neil is explaining something amazing . I rather like Neil doing the show alone since Chuck just disrupts the show with his dry jokes and Neil then will have to fake laugh for those jokes.
-
qw3jfMarvelous podcastsIt's really nice for me to hear them. very intellectual and constrtuctive analysis about science and around it. I hope I would be a continuous listener of this podcast. Keep going on to make the science much more easier.
-
Reid lovettGoodGood collaborations and topics and very educational
-
LieuallenExcellent show led by a great science communicatorI love your show and really appreciate how you guys make the topics both relatable and understandable to non-scientists. I would like to ask you to get Maryna Viaskova on an episode.
-
PodListeningGuyEntertaining EducationWonderful to have an astrophysicist who is also a great entertainer. Neil is reaching people who would likely never be interested in science and that makes him awesome. I'm addicted. I take no issue with the hosts other than Chuck, but Chuck and Neil go so greatl together, I think the show is best without them. They feel like interruptions.
-
NBJ54Gone downhillWas great and sooo informative and magical conversations about our universe. Dont bring politics where they dont need to be
-
Groucho the manCan be great, or not so great.Depending on the subject matter, usually a great listen. Getting too deep into politics, sports, religion and climate change for my taste. Please stick to science. Please no more politics.

ChazAJordanGreat Show ~ With A Request…Excellent and informative show. Would like to hear a bit more from the guests as they are often interrupted.
-
SSS9576AwesomeLove this show! Some reviewers may have felt a sense of competition between the host and some guests. Well, that’s just comes with the territory, it’s energetic conversation that moves the discussion forward and many time goes beyond the question. Scientists challenge each other all the time, that’s how science progresses.
-
hondo$$InterruptingNeil, please please please let your guest speak. Try to go one minute without interrupting.
