    Democracy Now! Is Better
Interviewing Megan Kelly is unacceptable. The NYT is officially a right wing news outlet.

Get a therapist on with Megyn Kelly!!
Kelly knows firsthand the toll of public vilification as a woman, she’s spoken about her own experiences, like during her Fox News days. Yet, she backed Trump, a man found liable in a civil court for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll in 2023, with dozens of other women (including his ex-wife Ivana, who once accused him of rape before retracting) alleging similar behavior. Her support seems to completely dismiss these women’s experiences, which clashes with any implied solidarity she might claim as a woman who’s “been there.” Kelly touts her willingness to challenge Trump as evidence of her journalistic integrity. But when Trump retaliates (by cutting her off or siccing his base on her) she doesn’t see it as a problem. This suggests she’s less an impartial truth seeker and more someone willing to endure personal attacks to maintain access or relevance to Trump’s orbit, which undermines her “unbiased” claim. I can see that Kelly markets herself (personally and professionally) as a fearless, fair voice who understands women’s struggles, yet she aligns with someone whose actions and reputation directly contradict that image, while she shrugs off the consequences of his behavior toward her and others. It’s like she’s saying, “I’ll call him out, but I’ll still prop him up,” which feels inconsistent at best, toxic self-serving at worst.

    Covid lockdown episode
Wow, this is an embarrassing episode and I’m surprised the NYTimes is willing to be associated with it. How about let’s interview two academics who have no public health background on their thoughts of a lockdown who are cry babies because they wanted to indoor dine at Applebee’s sooner. Why not check yourself in with scientists, public health professionals, and epidemiologists on the long term toll of long COVID, the deaths of millions, brain fog our children have from getting COVID ad infinitum, and everyone’s brutalized immune systems from repeat infections? Spoiler alert: masking, quarantine, and vaccine have saved and continue to save lives. Check yourself before calling yourself an actual journalist, Michael. Blah.

The Daily is apart of the Mean Girl Club. Mean Girl Alert! Please move a little to the middle
I never guessed that The Daily was apart of The Mean Girl Club- Kind people never post unflattering photos of others- The Daily is not going to straighten your crown or tell you your have kale in your teeth. Megan Kelly is a beautiful woman & the photo you chose of her looks like she is talking - this is unkind & unprofessional- not surprising. I want to love this podcast, but like so many, there is transparent political bias. Be brave- take on topics that challenge both political parties. Journalists should practice neutral observation & discernment. Be more objective & check your own viewpoint. Also - Why are you ignoring specific topics while focusing heavily on others? UPDATE: I am deeply disappointed in your bias and selective coverage of The Hunter Biden story. I listened to hours of congressional hearings, read several primary documents, the letter from Weiss, and you obviously cherry-pick & frame the story to support the Biden family. You are no different than bias conservative commentators. I am not a Trump fan - I dislike him deeply. I am a fan of truth- you are failing our country. Journalism no longer exists. Update Again- I tried to listen again. Signing off & listening to Beri & Colman for objective & honest analysis. Bye. Update again- I keep coming back because I want to like this show. I am a lifelong listener of PBS & reader of NYT. The way you have covered the tragic murder of Linken Riley is disgraceful. You turned her death into another tool to try and make conservatives look bad. YOU are using her murder as a political tool- don’t you see that you are doing exactly what you are criticizing? This episode is disgraceful and shameful. Self-reflection please.

    Megyn Kelly is a BADA$$
MK, Keep going. You're not done.
  • alexcrmr
    Wow
My god Megyn Kelly is a remarkable coward. His cruelty to you was a pivotal part of his rise in the Republican Party and you think that’s somehow a redeeming quality?
  • Mac an tSionnaigh
    Megyn Kelly
Good interview. Reveals what a horrible hypocritical person she is. She’s definitely not a journalist. Hopefully people will avoid any of her broadcasts.
  • Lunsee
Why give Megan Kelly a platform?!
I instantly unfollowed you all. Why did you give that trash a platform to talk? I don’t care about her back story. The woman is trash and sold out to Trump. It’s disgusting and she’s the worst. I’m done.
  • Corgi21herzog
    Megan Kelly
No thank you she has a rights to her thought but I don’t respect anyone that supports the right and what they are doing to our country

Loved the Megyn Kelly interview. Very refreshing!

    OMG MK is so damaged
MK had proven herself that she's not a journalist
  • Kaceypahzi de wbzk
I hear you, but I’m no longer listening
I’ve just lost a lot of respect for both The Daily and Lulu Garcia Navarro - arguably two of my favorites in media. There’s no need to give MK a voice and platform on this show for her to pontificate more of her swill. (E.g., …”they said Trump was a rapist…”) Trump IS a rapist. Convicted of sexual assault. That’s not an opinion, but a fact - and The Daily just crapped all over survivors of sexual assault for refusing to fact check this kind of garbage. MK has plenty of airtime, and all this episode did - while well-meaning - was serve her personal platform. It’s not like MK or Fox is going to reciprocate and listen to the other side with such demure. And fervent supporters of Fox ARE NOT going to view this as “the woke Liberals” trying to extend an olive branch or see their point of view. You’re kidding yourselves. So, now I’ll take everything I hear on this podcast with a grain of salt for the joke it’s become.
  • melonwasher
    Great job Lulu!
I appreciated your interview with Megyn Kelly. She has rationalized a career of hate mongering. If she really cared about issues like immigration, she could have supported a decent conservative candidate. But she gets her ratings by being hateful and spreading misunderstanding. You gave her a chance to explain herself in a measured and fair interview. I see who she really is. I guess money and popularity is all that really matter to some people.
  • pinacoloda
    Megan Kelly - ugh!
I love your show, but it was a real hard, swallow listening to Megan Kelly spew all her hate and ridiculous rhetoric! I don’t know how the interviewer kept her composure, but she did a good job! I just wish we wouldn’t let M Melly on the airwaves!
  • Cuca Girl
    Thanks!!
Lulu thanks for this interview with Megan Kelly. This just reinforced all the reasons I don’t like her and all she stands for! I am so sick of these “Fox” media people acting holier than anyone else. They’re in it for ratings and money and fame. She’s disgusting!

    Megan Kelly Interview
NY Times, do better. You just let her spin, spin, spin.

    Platforming Genocidal Apologism
I am aghast at the unashamed willingness to allow Blinken a platform to defend what every reputable, independent international organization - from the UN, to Amnesty, to the ICC - recognizes is a genocide, a moral horror the likes of which we have never seen. Truly disgusting. The New York Times has lots any claim to calling itself a journalistic outlet. And then you bring on Megyn Kelly—and you can’t talk to a single Palestinian scholar or historian? Your bias is revolting.

    Issue Replaying old episodes
First off, love the show. You guys do amazing work and it’s always something I look forward to listening and engaging with. However, I noticed upon going back to re-listen to an episode I’d recently enjoyed listening to- that I was unable and prompted to pay for it ? Is that a new thing? It was the episode interviewing the therapist doctor regarding emotional intelligence. Anyway- keep up the great work- just wanted to share the wisdom and brilliance of the show with a friend- but found I was unable to do so without a paid subscription. Which is a tough sell for someone who hasn’t heard the body of work beforehand.

    Action
Would love a story about the American people who are gathering in protests to fight for our democracy instead of focusing in on the White House. Any possibilities on this?

Why has there been no coverage of Bernie Sanders rallies?
Please do coverage on Bernie Sanders rallies. Enough hearing about Trump.

    A Must Listen
I start every day with The Daily. It’s smart, concise and insightful.
  • Fxyy
    Rachel is not it
I listen almost every single day. The inflection in her voice seems like she doesn’t care. She adds leading adjectives of her own opinion instead of just stating the facts. Please don’t replace Sabrina with her.

    Garbage reporting...
Natan Odenheimer cohosted an episode with Sabrina Tabernese today 11/27 with a garbage story of how Israel uses Palestinians as "human shields." When Sabrina asked Natan how he came across this story... he said he overheard a stranger talking about it at (ready?) his gym!! AT HIS GYM?! Natan then goes on somehow talk this an "anonymous" gym-patron (who he "randomly overhead"...) into offering more details. Not there, but somehow got his phone number and called him. Then over the phone he got a few more details before this "anonymous" soldier ended the discussion. Natan then goes on to detail how he "found" more people, and how "others" came forward to "uncover this disturbing practice." Natan describes this anonymous, unknown secret practice as: "some platoons" and "high level commanders" ordering Palestinians to lead the IDF through tunnels under Gaza. In this entire story, all sources, all of them, except one are... anonymous, unnamed people who "confirmed" to Natan they they were victims. Sabrina asks Natan if he talked to the IDF to inquire about this practice. The IDF told Natan they would look into his claims, and Natan reports this as, "the IDF did not deny the use of this practice [...] and no one has been punished" to his knowledge. "Looking into" an accusation is not admitting the practice. Stating "no one has been punished" provides a false narrative that the practice is verified. It's not... Also, at some point during the story, Natan describes anonymous IDF soldiers using anonymous civilians to help find the bodies of some captured during the October 7 raid... Natan specifically says "to look for the bodies of soldiers taken hostage on October 7." ... not "civilians" but specifically called all the hostages "Soldiers". And Sabrina doesn't challenge him on this!! She just lets it go as part of the narrative. This gives credit to Natan's suggestions, that soldiers (not civilians) were taken hostage from Israel and dragged back into Gaza. So just rewind: Natan overhears an (anonymous) stranger at a gym talking about a secret practice that (anonymous) platoons and (anonymous) commanders use where (anonymous) Palestinian civilians lead (anonymous) soldiers through the tunnels. He then "investigates" and finds more (anonymous) soldiers who come forward to tell their story. There's no story about the tunnels in the first place, there's no story about how hostages are still being held by Hamas, or how Hamas attacked Israel and won't give these hostages back. There's no story about Hamas hiding in these tunnels and stealing resources from Palestinians, there's no stories about the tunnels in general. None. Instead, the focus is on an anonymous tactic where anonymous soldiers take anonymous Palestinians through tunnels... this is a published story by the New York Times. This is considered journalism? I was so flaming angry after the sloppy journalism I canceled my subscription, canceled my New York Times cooking subscription, and will delete my subscription to this podcast. Never have I heard such an irresponsible story published to a mainstream audience. This story is point-blank anti-Semitic, and the New York Times should be shamed for publishing it. Sloppy, irresponsible, harmful journalism.

    Great podcast
I’m a long time NYT subscriber, and I find their podcasts very informative and almost always extremely interesting. And of all the Times podcasts, this is probably the best (though the Book Review podcast comes in as a close second).

    Lacking coverage on trans rights
While I love The Daily and appreciate the way it helps me make sense of current events, I am disappointed that in two months of the Trump presidency, I have not heard a single episode addressing the attacks on trans rights. Since this is an area Trump has been focusing on heavily, I would appreciate more analysis on what measures the administration is taking and how it is impacting the daily lives of trans Americans who are struggling to get identification documents, access necessary medical care, and travel due to executive orders.
  • texashhley
    Nope.
Extremely biased “reporting” if you even want to call it that.
  • Sports Fan/Movie Lover
    Sooooo biased
I used to listen to this every single day for years and years and years and now I can’t even get through five minutes of your podcast without absolutely being horrified with your one-sided, completely biased angles. The podcast today about Nixon and the media and there’s no mention of how much the left controls. The media is absolutely asinine. I deleted you before and I have to delete you again. I just can’t do it anymore. You are the reason why I voted for Trump.

    Lockdown episode?
I never tested positive for COVID. I was more locked down than most people(by choice). I stopped all activities and stayed at home. If you say it did not work then that is because some people did not do their part. Also, the lockdown did slow the spread of other viruses and colds. Mostly, this podcast is amazing and does an excellent job with making historical connections. This episode lost this podcast lots of credibility.

    Tongue bathing trump
Every headline is giving trump a credit for abusing power.the NYT should be condemning the power grabs but they would rather normalize this
  • User11222333999
    Progressive garbage
Progressive groupthink with no true desire to seek the truly.
  • Annabel795
    Intentionally misleading?
I understand the recent episode on higher education was meant to stay at a general level but the brief mention of the pressure on Columbia to adopt the IHRA definition of anti-semitism was presented in a matter of fact way rather than clarifying how problematic that definition is for observers to critique Israeli policy. It was unclear if the guest does not understand this or was intentionally not informing listeners.
  • Envymetoo
Trump, Trump, Trump and don’t forget Trump
They wouldn’t have a podcast if it wasn’t for Trump because that’s all they report on. They wake up , look for any headline about Trump and turn that into an episode. Lazy journalism.

    I Love the Daily
This is mostly what I count on for news. I can’t take reading too much these days because it’s depressing but I get this daily dose and I can keep up. My only complaint is I like to listen everyday and I’m not a fan on the weekends of the interviews by David Marchese. He is not a good interviewer in my opinion and they should get someone else. I do like the guests on the show and I listen to hear what they have to say but I am cringing at David’s tone and questions. Didn’t he learn that you raise your voice at the end of a question and not a statement? Does he have to make everything personal? He turns the questions back to himself and his experiences (I don’t care) Groan.

    Covid lockdowns = government psyop
Covid lockdowns were a government psyop following the unleashing of a manufactured bioweapon on the world. The covid vaccine requirements were even worse. Overall, a deadly operation executed on the American people who followed along blindly.

Go Listen to All In Podcast
The Daily would benefit by having someone on that has an understanding of economics. Go listen to All In podcast where Howard Lutnick was interviewed. Very thoughtful interview on the bigger picture on policies being implemented.

    USAID/ 3.20.2025
Interesting last podcast, however to not even discuss what they found and why they were shutting it down in the first place was an incredible miss. The discussion should be why Americans should be paying for this aid versus where that money could go ie inner cities, LA, NC etc. Not a single mention on some of the programs DOGE did uncover was a very bad miss. Love the show, keep it up! Also- the march 20th episode was outstanding. Need more like this, real discussion, instead of the usual trump/ musk bad themes.
